I totally chose the wrong week to watch Riverdale.
I'm downloading the first episode now. This better be good.
My taste is impeccable.

It's good.

It's not as good as Mali thinks it is, mind.
The second season of "The Last Kingdom" was fantastic, and recommended for everyone with a passing interest with swords, vikings and so on. In many places feels more authentic than Vikings and the girl who plays Aethelfled is the prettiest thing on TV.

Electric Dreams (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5711280/?ref_=nv_sr_1) might be my most antecipated show ever. Please please don't suck.

I'm waiting for that to drop on Netflix.

I found the first series almost turn-offably stupid for the first couple of episodes, but was ultimately won over. I still find the main character to be hot-headed to the point of infuriating idiocy, but I like everyone else.
I watched the first episode of The Mist on Netflix last night.

I was alright, certainly ramped up towards the end. As there's a lot of other stuff to get watched I'm not sure if it's worth continuing. What does the Hivemind perceive?

It's true. He seems to have been chosen mostly because of his good looks, but he's much better in the second season. The rest of the cast is fantastic. The guy who plays King Alfred is one hell of an actor.
The Mist is dreadful. Get out now.

Have you seen the film? If so, what did you think of that?

Ta, colleague just said the same too.

@Mimi - I enjoyed the film.

Oh that's superb. Really tense and Helen found the ending to be one of the most traumatic she'd ever watched.

I think I lasted four episodes of the tv show out of desperation that it might improve but it didn't.

Oh my goodness. What is WRONG with you people? The film is awful :DD
A good tense character building piece, completely and utterly ruined after they leave the supermarket. And that ending? Fuck you, film. Fuck you
The ending is brilliant, fools. Also: the film's B&W cut is far superior.
I was very confused by much of this until I realised I was thinking of The Fog
Oh, maybe I have it wrong? What's the one with all the giant wasps or dragonflies?
The Mist has Captain Holt in it.
Oh yeah, it's the mist that is completely stupid. Stupid wasp thing appearing is the start of it going downhill.

I love Captain Holt! But not when he's in the Mist.

It's mighty fine. Liking it a lot.
End of the series and it's been better than The Wire. Wow.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
i love Cheryl
Watching episode 2 now.
Finished a couple of series in the past week:

Santa Clarita Diet

Had already watched most of it, but got the last two episodes and watched them to finish it off. Very entertaining, and Timothy Olyphant is simply superb in it. The rest of the cast is also good, but he totally steals it, IMO. Very good, will watch a second series.

Designated Survivor (aka Unexploded Politican)

It's fun in the same genre as '24', with a bit of a less slick 'West Wing' thrown in there. Kiefer is exactly what you'd expect, despite playing quite a different character from Jack Bauer, and Kal Penn is excellent in his role as Not Sean Spicer. It does get less believable as it goes on, and doesn't have a satisfactory conclusion. In fact, the last episode was a pile of crap, for the most part.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
World's most wanted and famous terrorist (admittedly thought to be dead) waltzes into the Pentagon with a fake ID. As he arrives they work this out and place it into lockdown. Despite this he walks, without any disguise, right through the whole complex, into the most important server room, which he accesses with an ID that they know is fake and could shut down at any point. He hacks away to get the entirety of the plans to the whole US defence strategy/codes/access/everything. he the strolls out, despite the lockdown, and wanders out, into his car, and calmly leaves the area.

He is only spotted by a woman driving past him in the opposite direction at 90mph, after the event. She kills him but the codes that it implied were on a computer in a very important briefcase make it out because why the hell not.

Also, the end speech was really bad. It was far too USA! USA! USA! and would only have been decent if the terrorists had blown up either the White House or the building the President was actually in.

I may well still watch the second series , as Kiefer remains eminently watchable.

Possibly a bit sad, but coming up with that is the thing I'm most proud of in the last 12 months.

Totally lost interest in it as a TV show though.
That's how we refer to it as well. Still enjoying it even though they can't decide if they want to make a 24 style action show or a serious political drama.

It scans very well to the OK Go song, "Television Television".

FEEX.
Defenders pretty good so far. Danny is a massive tool but it's good.
Man now I want Chinese food
I have started watching 'THE CONFESSIONS TAPES' on Netflix.

It's a bit like Making A Murderer but focused specifically on dodgy confessions across many different cases.

All I can say is just hope that the police never decide you're guilty of something....

Just finished Big Little Lies.

"Subversive, darkly comedic drama Big Little Lies tells the tale of three mothers of first graders whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder"

My wife was recommended it and at first glance I wasn't keen.

Turned it was realty good and a little different, the first episode opens with a murder, but you don't find out who was killed and who did it until the last 5 minutes of the last episode.
Blood Drive is still amazing. Loved the Wile E Coyote bit, the grammar comment and the sexbot bits.
It got cancelled after 1 series, didn't it?
Yes. A tragedy.

Actually probably not. I think it did what it set out to do.
It was too beautiful to live in this world.
Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

We watched the first two of those and I was left wondering much the same thing as after Making A Murderer. i.e. just how much of the story/evidence did the filmmakers leave out to fit the story they wanted to tell?
Anyone watched The Orville ?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5691552/

A Seth MacFarlane "Star Trek" show, its very well done visually, although I suppose most things can be made to look good these days with technology.

Watched the first episode last night at 9pm with my 5 month old son (who has the sleeping pattern of an adult) so probably didn't have 100% focus as he was wriggling all the time

Found myself enjoying what at times is a welcome Star Trek clone show that at some points follows a sort of serious sci-fi show plot, but has comedy in it, jokes are not as outrageous as American Dad and Family Guy. So I struggled with it a bit.

Read some reviews and people say its gets a bit better after Ep03

Worth watching though and I'll keeping viewing for a few more episodes yet
I was decidedly underwhelmed by the pilot, but will give it a couple more before making my mind up.

As our baby was still up and being a handful my wife was not too bothered about what was on TV. She normally hates sci-fi, but she did laugh a few times at the comedy

So maybe this can be a gateway show for educating her on the joys of sci-fi :)

I've not seen it, but reviews have been absolutely brutal.
I'm enjoying Ozark.
I finished Preacher season 2 over the weekend and it has been absolutely brilliant. It was left on a proper cliff hanger so I really hope that it's renewed for a third season.

It's quickly become my favourite thing on TV.
The second episode of The Deuce has aired, and it ups the humour and boobies count.

it's getting soops formulaic, sort of glad it's done in another episode.

So is The Mist any good?

Also - looking forward to the new star trek series. First Born should enjoy that too.
Anyone who hasn't seen the third series of Fargo should watch the third series of Fargo. Best thing I've seen in a long while. Plenty of superb characters in it.

I loved the first two. Is it on Netflix yet?
