You have one sandwiches, or two halves of a sandwich.

If I went to a tea shop with three friends and we ordered four sandwiches, and they bought out one sandwich cut into four small bits... Well, it's be arguing time.
The mistake you one-ers are making is that you assume that all sandwich making is using sliced bread, and confusing this culture's shorthand for ordering sandwiches with fact.

No, Curiosity states in his opening post that the sandwich is made of twi slices of bread, so that's the example that we are all working with.

This is true.

What if the two 'half sandwiches' had different fillings though... would that then make two sandwiches? The midn boggles...
