A car. He was quite clear about it.

Very nice. Braver than I would be, but it looks great and you’ve got the right weather to enjoy it.
Well, it gets delivered on Tuesday so that's when the rain will start.

The salesman was very confused that I didn't have a private plate to put on it.
I admire your gambling spirit Grim...!
Ooh swanky! OX0 & EMF makes it practically a private plate!

Or Mr Ecstasy Mother Fucker.

Title of the Story of Your Life?
For all you that have had EV or Hyrbrids, what is the best way to get a charger fitted outside.

I looked on google and there seems to be a lot.

The dealer you're buying the car from should be able to recommend an installer, and might also be able to secure a cheaper rate that way too.

Failing that, just look online for EV chargepoint installers - but it's a pretty basic electrical installation, so I expect any decent sparky would be able to do it, meaning you can just buy the unit separately and have a local guy fit it if needed.

Just make sure you get one that's compatible with your car, and (if you think you're going to stick with electric) think about buying one that is more "future-proof", e.g. one that supports multiple charging standards, or makes it easy to swap out the cable/connectors.
I wouldn't bother for a hybrid, you won't get it subsidised and the battery is not big enough to even need a dedicated power supply. An external socket or just a wire trailing out somewhere will work fine.

I want to future proof.. I don't have an external socket yet..
My car is in for service and MOT today. The garage have just rang to tell me that it has failed MOT on a broken spring. ?:|

(I actually laughed down the phone when she said it)
Are you lot all dogging or something?
There must be something in the air/water/road/internet.
These pesky MOT testers are all in the pocket of Big Coil.
I knew I was in the club, but I had to go back in time quite a way:
The Cmax threw a spring for 2019. So it's an epidemic

Now I *really* don't want to take our cars to my trusted independent to find out what the knocking-over-low-speed-bumps is on them...

Sounds like they've been sprung
Mrs Z’s RAV4 went in on Friday for MOT, failed on rear pads and discs.
Had the work done today and…
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
they found a broken rear spring that they’d missed.
I thought you'd have done pads and discs yourself. Also I bought some new wipers today as those on my camper were shocking, got some Boschs aerotwins and now the wipe is immaculate. Anyway eurocarparts have some good offers on atm. Got 40% off.
Normally I would but the MOT had ran out last Friday so no wiggle room on getting it done plus I’m up to my neck in doing the garage now.
The downside of owning a mega-premium super-executive high-end luxury car I suppose.

(That's sixteen years old and is worth about three and a half grand.)

Tax renewal just came through...... At least we still get a snazzy disc to put in the windscreen here.

That sort of doesn't seem too bad. Mine's non-chargeable for now, but still, once I've done the mental gymnastics to go from nothing to any amount, £400 doesn't seem a fortune.
Happiness for £1.16 a day seems a good deal.
Is that the first time you've had to renew tax on a car?
I've been known to have to put tax on a car. Occasionally.

Overall I'm finding Lexus ownership very agreeable, the air conditioned seats have been a boon in the recent heatwave, and because of the car's age and value, I don't have to be even remotely precious about it.

If anyone's after a nice cheapy luxo-barge type thing that's also ultra-reliable, I'd definitely recommend one.

Hahha brilliant
I have embraced my inner Partridge and made peace with it. Japanese Mercedes!
Air conditioned seats?
I'm not sure what the correct term is, cooled seats?

The front seats can either be heated or cooled (or neither), if you select the cold option then it starts blowing cold air up through the seat once the aircon gets going.

Admittedly not something that will be needed often in our climate.

The little light goes green for cold arse, or orange for hot arse.
