A learner on the motorway?
That's allowed now. Assuming Wookie is a qualified driving instructor and the MG has dual controls.
We're all learners on the motorway of life.
Nah look it up they changed the rules

They did? That's pretty mental.
Yeah, they really didn't Wook.

Oops!
I googled it this morning and read the first line officer!
Hahaha you filthy law-breaker! Taking a learner driver onto an empty motorway!
Anyway both L plates had fucked off by this point. I think plastidip is some sort of magnetism insulator
Have you considered using a slightly more reliable form of transport for an airport run, like, say, a deaf horse infected with near-fatal mange?

Fucked about for a while and figured out the problem is a bad earth on the pump so it's making a bit of noise but there's next to zero pressure at the carbs and little flow so now we're ripping speaker cables out the doors and stripping them with our teeth to make temp. Earth cables
I mean jesus wept wookie
I believe the car belongs to the driver. Or at least Wookie is going to give it to him. Or something.
Practising for post brexit waste land

Something like that. Part of the reason he's gone is too get his 9" banded rostyle wheels sent back, we sent them to Latvia a while ago and they've been made but he needs to actually show up and post them back himself.
That's... Odd. Also nine inches?!
Yes, they'll stick out the arches by 4 inches. His choice, not mine!

Is... is that legal?!
God no. We'll end up putting arch flares on to cover them
My old MGB started sparking from under the dashboard on the way home from the pub, my passenger and I just looked at each other and had a moment of silent agreement, so I pushed down on the accelerator and we carried on driving.

I'm not sure about "legal" but more than two inches will fail your MOT.

I had to put rubber arches on the Tomcat and Jesus fuck they were expensive.
That's s&m gear. You can't fool us!
There's sets of plastic "universal"* ones on wish for quite cheap

*One size fits nothing
Random question: If I were out of petrol say, and I had to move and started my car in first ( or reverse ) would the starter motor actually move me any decent distance? I imagine it's not a good idea, but if it were enough to get me onto the hard shoulder it it would be pretty handy.

Oh god, I think I remember you complaining endlessly about this at the time.
Octavia won’t rev past 5k even when warm so I’ve taken it in to my garage today. :(

I only noticed last weekend when driving up to Gaz and Jem’s as I only pootle around town in it 90% of the time.
Stop revving it past 5K
Push your chair up.

That's them.

Where's the rest of your Bowser outfit?
It's a Bowsette outfit, obviously.

You'll run the battery out and I wouldn't run the starter for more than 20sec at a time but it does work and can get you out of trouble.

Many modern cars require you to push the clutch in, thus breaking this idea somewhat.

No, it’s petrol, and it redlines at 6.5-7k.

As legal as a learner on the Motorway
We’re all as legal as learners on the motorway of life.
Day off tomorrow.

Please lord deliver me from the temptation of going to look at this delicious Scooby. I still miss my old Scooby, that car was fucking awesome.

The thing is, this is kind of like my old Scooby (the engine hasn't evolved much, and neither has much of the rest of it), in a different shell (and with a better interior) - but that's a good thing.

Brexit stockpiling and cash in the bank, or car spunkage? It's a tricky one.

New car tariffs are going to increase after brexit, so the only sensible thing to do is to put your savings into a second hand car, as the price of second hands cars will absolutely increase post brexit, no doubt about it.

Buying now is the only choice that makes sense if you want to provide for your family in the future
And it looks like a Rover 25

Congratulations on your new temporary car, Hearthly.
I might get saved by my new NAS being delivered, as I won't be able to resist getting that set up and configured. ALSO three new gigabit switches for MAXIMUM NETWORKING.

It's a gorgeous day though, perfect weather to test drive a Scooby.
You’re probably lucky to live on the IoM, as the last person I know who changed cars as frequently as you do was accused of being a car dealer by HMRC
More than five in a year, right?

No idea tbh. Sounds about right.
Car dead. Gearbox completely seized up. Very little warning, just some vibration when bringing the clutch up.

Seriously doubt this is going to be an economical repair
Ouch. Cost me around £400 plus labour for mine last year... plus the clutch and DM flywheel that died too.

Is it at a garage now, DP?
