Fortnightly Photography Challenge

I like the idea of a "pick a theme and take a pic" and I like the idea of keeping it on the forum. I know flickr has groups but flickr is totally meh for discussing and oohing and aahing.

To begin the festivities, I dub April, Month of Sundays.

Sunday. Do whatever you like with that word and make photos of it :)

Image
Great idea. I badly need to do more with my crazily expensive camera.
So is this weekly or monthly?
I dunno. I just called it 'weekly'.
What about 2 weeks? A week seems too short, a month is a bit long. A fortnight seems about right.
I guess the clue is in the topic title, which I didn't actually make, as my post was counterfeited into a new topic.
Okay! excellent stuff! Monkey and I will have a good think about it.

Well I know exactly what i want to do.

I assume WE have to take the photo, otherwise it's a touch pointless.
Hurrah. I like this.

Until it makes it apparent that I'm not good and I get jealous of everyone. Then I'll call it a stupid idea.
Ah, cool idea.
I am several art/photography sites and it's something else to keep me out of trouble.

The Matrix has you.
Shewolf says that she has you to blame for her appearance here, Sheepeh.

Er... are you sure you can trust, ya know, a ]wolf? being a sheepeh and all...
Quite. She is in fact, my girlfriend; and both usernames were chosen before we had even heard of each other.

Spooky. Or is it? OR IS IT? OR IS IT?
Strange but fitting I've always felt :D

I can't take photos for shit, but I like this idea a lot. So I'll try and give it a go if I have chance. No laughing at the back.
Is there a limit of one shot per person?
I should be getting a new camera tomorrow, so it'd probably be rude not to have a go at this.
Arg, you people and your new cameras.
I was planning on upgrading this year but my wallet doesn't agree....
Oh, I dare say your current camera is better than my new one. It's a Samsung NV10, so nothing amazingly flashy, but it's one hell of a step up from the bulky 3MP Fuji with a broken screen that I'm using at the moment...
I think you should have called it the fortnightly photography free-for-all

Just follow the Image and he'll lead you to the bus

This new camera would be fine too!

I don't think there are any rules about what and how many photos. It's just a word to give a smidge of a theme.
I don't think it's that much to do with what camera you've got, but how you can think around a specific theme. If nothing else it will give people a chance to experiment with different subjects and composition.

I think so, don't you?
I wish I could use some of my old photos for this...

Yep
I agree. Otherwise it could get a little out of hand. Will also make people think a little more about what they're submitting?
I say we have a deadline of the 13th of April for this one, and then fortnightly after that. Hopefully there's enough interest that a week and a half for the first contest/project will be enough?

Then shall we poll for a winner on a separate thread with the entries all in a row?
Contest? Whu? I just want to see nice piccies.

This, but with extra smugness.
We need a Judge, and prizes too. Big cash prizes.

If you have a winner, then the winner can choose the next topic, which makes it a bit more fun.

No choosing boobies, though.

Well, the starter of the thread says no rules about how many shots. So which is it guys?
One? Or two? (It's usually two on these things in other places which is why I asked).
The Rulez! (open to opinion)

* Theme is selected by a random user (I like the idea of this, gives everyone a chance and and stops this getting dominated by the elite. Also lets less prolific users get involved).

* New theme selected fortnightly-ish.

* Maxium of 3 pictures (just to be different) with a minimum of 1 (obviously). However, multiple photos means multiple subjects. So unique compositions, if that makes sense. I don't think we need multiple versions of the same idea and it forces people to pick their favourite.

* This isn't a competition but is photography for :
i)the sake of photography
2)a reason to use that expensive camera you bought
c)general smugness.

So the first theme is: Sunday
Closing Date: 13th April (a Sunday but I think it's a good idea to let it roll over till Monday noon time or until the next theme is firm)
I'd be happy with an upper limit of three.

There was an informal competition on the Consolevania forums once, and it royally pissed me off when some guy who'd done about 15 entries ended up winning, because the CV boys liked two or three of them.
I am going to start with this one.

It's what I did on Sunday. I would give it a cool name like "Road to Nowhere" but that isn't true, it's one of the minor roads to Leyburn.
I keep on reading this as "Fortnightly Pornography Challenge" when I see the thread title. I humbly suggest we instigate that as well.
Sunday Is Like Every Day

The irony being that ASDA shuts at 4pm on Sunday.

It's as you come out of the tube station at Parson's Green.
My entry, what Sunday means to me, BED!
Damn! I've not had a chance to really get any of my ideas done, since I injured myself ><
I'll try to upload one this afternoon if the contest is not at an end yet.
Mine's rubbish.
I went from the Sun of Sunday to Moon, and took this because the moon was orange, like a sunset.
