I want to get into this. It sounds FUN. Rixon, how many matches are there left? Can I watch some with beerage at yours?

Well, the games are always on a Sunday night when I'm playing pool in the Pub. It is rare that I get the chance to watch it from home.

In fact tonight, I'm going to miss watching the second half of my beloved Bungles as we are playing away in some shithole in Tremorfa >:(
Massive game for the Giants tonight against the Eagles. Massive.
Giants are going to lose big.

I concur, New Jersey A will as it is put "get a kicking".

Yeah, you don't need a crystal ball to predict that one. Still, I live in hope.
Ouch, Chad just took a wallop.
The Bengals have called a terrible game here. 16 points down late in the third quarter they kick a FG from the Viking 4, basically running up the white flag for the game. THen with 7 minutes to play, down by 13 they punt on a 4th and 3. Feeble. Absolutely feeble.
Great game last night between the Giants and the Eagles, I won't spoil it if any of you have recorded it.
Was that the game on Five morte?

I might five player it later
Yep, do it, it's a classic and includes Carlson getting pretty animated over some of the officiating and having to apologise for his (admittedly very mild) language.
COC fans, follow the link on Chad's twitter account to see him play MW2 live!

Exciting...
There is one more crazy bastard playing WR in the big ball game in the sky. RIP Chris Henry.
A shame, but not really a surprise.
I only just got round to checking out this weekend's results... big WOW at the Packers/Steelers game... 503 passing yards for Big Ben :o >:( :metul:

And they needed every last one of them!
Can only see the Giants winning one of their last two games. It won't be enough.

There's a whiff of a chance the Cowboys finish 9-7, but probably not. The Packers will get a 10th win against Seattle. So yeah, 1 win is highly unlikely to get the Giants in. However, week 17 at Minnesota may sound bad but they have their division sown up and may very well be benching some players, so if the Giants are still alive after week 16 then don't completely rule out a 10-6 finish for them.
As someone who has somewhat unwittingly turned into something of a cowboys fan over the season (aided by not being able to see any seahawks games for a long time) can I just say: Yay.

(Don't lose against the redskins, please)

One of those games wasn't this weeks was it? Ouch.
looks like the Colts are losing their first game of the season...

And Carolina look good without Delhomme at QB!
It's not like the colts seemed to be particulary trying to win that one though.
The Giants result wasn't good, but the people of New York are tolerant and understanding so it will soon be forgotten.

NOT!

Packers clinch, Cowboys have two chances to win a game to clinch... but 8) at the wildcard race in the AFC, it's two from about 6 going into week 17.
a nice farewell to the stadium, eh..

The franchise personality is one of loyalty, but times are tough and the Giants are marketing expensive seats and luxury suites in a new stadium.

and the Jets got some bonus
Quote:
But at least some of the Jets did not even realize it when, with 5 minutes 36 seconds remaining in the third quarter, the Jets received the biggest assist of the season. That was when Colts Coach Jim Caldwell made a curious decision: he pulled Peyton Manning from the game with an undefeated season still on the line, and a victory very much in doubt, and inserted the rookie Curtis Painter, who is not even Manning’s regular backup.

go new orleans!

Ouch, indeed. Wake me up when it's the new season. ;)
I got an Ochocinco shirt for Christmas. For someone who generally only wears black, I find it's bright orangeness amusingly garish.

Also, Bungles in the playoffs! Yay! I watched the whole damn thing via nfl.com updates whilst muttering to myself and ignoring my family.
You know why the Bengals wear orange... it makes them feel at home, after all, thats the colour their prison jumpsuits are.

Pah, I mock your pain. I've now read two articles which relate the steady decline of the Raiders to the Fall of the House of Usher. Check these numbers out for Russell...

Russell (w/ Oak) - 6 yrs./$61 million/$32 million guaranteed (in comparison Ryan Leaf was given a four year 31 million contract with 11 guaranteed)...oh and we don't have a first round pick for the next two years.

I mock your pain.
yeah, college football is over..
Well, the Bengals deserve to lose in the first round of the playoffs, as they laid down and let the Jets destroy them, even though Houston had handed them the 3rd seed on a silver plate.

As low down as I thought the Bengals were, stealing Houston's first ever play-offs from them. That's just nasty.
Watching the jets/bengals game, I'd be pretty embarrassed if I were a bengals fan right now.
They either were really, really rubbish, or really cynical. It certainly appeared as if the offense were trying to lose the ball.
I'm actually expecting the Bungles to beat the Jets (that's the kiss of death on the Bs then).
I'm also expecting the Bengals to beat the Jets, and that's not just fatalism talking. They're getting back a couple of defensive starters who were missing for last week's game (and, lest we forget, Cedric Benson), and if ever there was motivation to step up their game getting humiliated on national television is it.

That being said, for me personally there couldn't have been a more fitting way to (probably) say goodbye to Five's single decent program in their entire history. I saw my first ever Jets win on Five (well, mostly. They actually had to stop broadcasting before the winning field goal, but STILL), and so finishing with one of the more comprehensive arse-kickings of recent memory pretty much brought things full circle. Other than John Madden I can't think of another individual who's done more to shape my NFL fandom than Mike Carlson. If Sky had any sort of sense at all they'd snap him up as their permanent third chair pronto.

What's the story here?

Everyone expects 5 not to continue with their coverage (having lost the Monday match this season). Even the presenters don't know what's going to happen so it looks like it's adios to NFL on terrestial TV, unless the beeb pick it up (fingers crossed). I have no idea what the NFL is doing, they want two or more matches in the UK, possibly even site a franchise here (unlikely me thinks in the medium to long term) but this last season we've had less access on either terrestial or digital to NFL content than at any other point in the last decade.
w00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000t!

That is all.
Five is giving up on sports in general I think. They dropped their very well-received MLB coverage out of the blue this season without losing the rights to anything, I guess they just don't consider night hawks and immigrants worth catering to any more.

Fortunately the internet cures all ills.
Stupid Bungles. They make me cross. That offense needs seriously sorting out - an improved line and better WRs and Palmer needs a kick up the arse.

Ah well, I have no emotional involvement in the rest of the season, so I guess I can enjoy it now...
I was tweeting my disgust with the Bungles last night. A lot.

Shayne Graham needs to be shot in the face.

Cedric Benson and portions of the O Line were all that turned up.

Bah.
Packers turns to rock tonight, let's show those desert rats how we play teh gridironz!!!!!!!1111
Oh, he's finally woken up this season.
Christ this has been a good game
Well, of the two games I cared about the outcome, both went the way I wanted.

Excuse me while I go and bask in Patriots fans tears.
The Packers Cardinal Game was immense and made up for the fact that the other three wildcard games were pretty poor one sided affairs.
49ers and broncos head to london for the regular season game next season.
Oh fuck.. I need tix.
Its the 31st of October , not sure if you can still stick your name in for the ticket lottery - the page to sign up is here :

My predictions for this weekend.

Indy 32 - Bal 10
San Diego 21 - Jets 14
Minny 21 - Dallas 34
New Orleans 38 - Arizona 41

Yep, I reckon (and hope) the Cards win another bonkers shootout.
I'll say
Balti
San Diego
Saints
and the vikings.
Who I want to win.
Cowboys
Chargers (Mainly due to Rex Ryan being an enormous bellend)
Colts. (Although I wouldn't mind the Ravens winning so much. I find Ray Rice amusing to watch. Plus they knocked out the Pats, which has got to be a good thing)
Cardinals (Well, I chose three other teams beginning with a C, so I may as well go for the lot. Not fussed here)

Overall: Bollocks.
