The GTR is great... it has somehow taken the ugly ugly 350Z and, by crossbreeding with the Skyline, made it look nicer.

And EVERY SERVICE STATION needs to employ HOT JAPANESE CHICKIES.
I CONCUR.

Also, that Alfa was the most beautiful modern car I have ever seen.

Yes.
The 350Z is ugly. They keep selling it in that horrible gold colour, makes it look like poo.

The GT-R is ten tons of lust, however.
Gold is a shit colour on any car. The 350z is a lovely looking car.

(above) Ugly, blob-like 350Z.
(below) Lovely 300ZX that actually looks like a sports car and not a glob of solder, which the 350Z replaced.

Said Alfa is in Test Drive Unlimited, where it's... interesting.
The 350Z has to have a nismo body kit on it to look nice. The vanilla car is pretty ugly.
Also, the new GTR. 7 mins 20 round the ring.

Forza 2 players will tell you just how insane that is.
Another one for ugly 350Z here. My friend's got one and I have to change the subject when he starts talking about it.
I love you all a little less today.
There's still loads of love to spare though, right?
350Z = a sucked jelly baby.
Why are you all talking about the 350Z?

Grim... - is that a shot just outside the garage where it's been towed after breaking down after 10 miles?
It would make a very nice lawn ornament, yes.
I can't look at that for too long. I might want to leave a deposit on it.

(Clarksons line about Ikea Knightley was awesome. "She's just an ironing board with a face... but somehow it works.")
The 350Z is as ugly as sin, but I think it's more designed to look intimidating. Certainly when you see one shooting into view in your rear view mirror, you get out of the way fucking sharpish.

I'd still have one if I could get insured on one though, they're very pleasant to drive.

Me too. And I've got enough strikes against my name for public lewdness already, thanks.
If I wanted a car to look intimidating I'd add "Bodiceas".

After those things featuring in countless post-apocolyptic film shenanigans, it was interesting to see that the actual use of wheel blades on a real car results in your wheel falling off...

They've not done a very good job, then.

Hi, Alfa. It's Aston Martin on the line- they want their car design back.
I think the 350Z is quite good looking.

Not the best, admittedly. And it can look a bit lardy round the back (especially the convertible). But I do quite like it, and was tempted to get one.

Leave an Alfa out on your lawn? Exposed to the weather? In two weeks you'd have four tyres and a large, rust coloured spot on the grass, and nothing else
When you consider how good looking the concept of the 350z was, it is a little disappointing in the flesh, but as a lot of you have pointed out, it looks better with a body kit on.

As for the Alfa, sexy as it is, and the convertible white one I saw at Goodwood this weekend was good looking incarnate, I still think the Alfa 33 is prettier by a long stretch.

Also, the GT-R is very sexy in the flesh, much moreso than most pics I've seen of it. It is, however, much bigger in the flesh as well.
The dealer my dad bought his 159 from said all UK 8c's (apostrophe there?) will be delivered personally by the head of marketing for Alfa UK.

A tough job but somebody has to do it.

Also 159 Ti..

wow
Alfas are teh sex, they really are. Although, as Clarkson said on an old episode of TG, he'd be striding up to the Alfa dealership, money in hand, ready to exchange it for their latest bit of automotive pornography and at the last minute veer away and buy a BMW or Audi instead.

If that GT-R is only 50 grand, then it has replaced the M5 as the car I'd most aim to buy.

I was a little lost with Top Gear a week or 2 ago because I really like the 75 which the other 2 slagged off. The 3.0 V6 Clarkson had was a thing of beauty, when it worked.

The GTA of May's was hideous though.

Ah, bugger. It's a pain in the arse my site, when it comes to sorting permissions, but you should be able to access this as I really can't be bothered setting up a private group just for on here!

I always loved teh 75 and the 164 and I even have a soft spot for the 166 and 155, but they are electronically flakey TBH.

I never liked the arse on the GTA, but other than that, it grew on me over time - they are, however, quite difficult for someone my size to even get in, let alone drive due to the gorilla proportions they used to think made good ergonomics

Try it again for me please, otherwise I'll be hand drawing this car in ASCII :DD
The current Alfa Spider is one of the sexiest cars around at the moment, though the depreciaition on them seems frightening.

Thank fuck for that - I don't do an enormous amount of updating on my site so every time I do I have to relearn the slightly cumbersome permissions rules :D
Hmm. Where did you take that picture? I used to work with cars like that (and my Dad still does).

I was at Goodwood on Saturday - it was in the Cartier concours area, along with a lot of very nice classic cars.

Actually, if you like cars you should just go to Goodwood, it's a fantastic day out for petrolheads.
It actually took my friend and I almost an hour to get out of the car park there were so many fantastic cars there we kept getting distracted by :D
The last time I went to Goodwood I had to wear the silly white overalls. Still, I drove up the track on a scooter ;)
I have 800 pics to go through from Friday. Some of which I'll put on my flickr.

When I drove away from work yesterday I was behind an F430 Spider. It just looked silly - what the Top Gear lot were saying about Ferraris is actually right.

Not that I wouldn't have chopped his fucking hand off if he'd said "I don't want this anymore - Clarkson says it's crap, do you want it?"

You were at Goodwood in a white hazmat suit? We want, nay, demand more details.

I know what you mean. Bizarrely, the F430 looks a little under wheeled to me. And I'm not an enormous fan of convertible sports cars at all because to drive it hard with the roof down you'd need a full face helmet :D

There were loads of exotica in the car park, from concours condition classics from the humble (Lotus Cortina) to the more prosaic 930 turbo and the fabulous DB6 we saw, let alone the countless Porsches, Ferraris, Astons and even a brand new Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe, just to name a few. Shiny Shiny :D

As for the show itself - well it's an awesome day out for the car enthusiast where you can wander around the paddock talking with drivers and literally get run over by a F1 car if you don't get out of the way when they're returning to their garages. There are also concours shows and loads of dealers there so you can go paw shiny metal

I used to work with my dad, who works as an engineer for a privateer vintage race car driver. I can PM you some photo's that'll make your head spin :)
