I'm feeling it now! The weather forecast has warnings for rain the next three days, so I wanted to get a walk in.
I thought I'd try the King's Gutter and Hen Lake, but the light was fading, the path was covered in mud the consistency of custard, which I could barely tell the depth of.
I ended up walking on a crumbling wall built well over 200 years ago, with trees and all sorts growing out of it.
It was the most stressful and tense I have ever been whilst on a walk.
Later I scared a goose (I think) roosting in the undergrowth less than a meter away, and it in turn scared me right back. The noise it's wings made as it took off was something else!
Then it got too dark to see at all, and the path seemed much harder than usual!
I feel like I've been run over, despite it only being a 9k walk.
