Sometimes you just have to let it out. Sorry to hear you're having a crap time today.

Although I'm not involved and don't play D&D, I'm really glad the Monday nights are going well and I do enjoy reading the thread about it here!

I hear you, SDG, and have similar thoughts about the pandemic myself.

It's so tough, everyone is suffering but we're so predisposed to trying to get by, and to thinking about how others have it worse, that it feels indulgent and selfish and unproductive to just sometimes sit back and acknowledge how hard and awful it all is.

I really really miss being able to get out rowing. That is usually my escape. The ritual of getting the boat out. Standing on the beach feeling the sand underfoot. Then the repetitiveness of rowing. Concentrating on my stroke, and on my breathing, and on the sea conditions, and on my posture, and on the other rowers. Sometimes getting to stop, and have our little boat bob in the water while we admire the seals or the dolphins. My head always feel so clear and I feel really energised and at peace after I've been out rowing. Feeling the callouses on my hands and fingers. The last time I was out was in September 2019 :'(

If I get a bigger house, I'm getting a rowing machine.

Does anyone here do yoga or anything like that? I'm going to start a healthy eating plan this week so maybe I could try and add in something that will replicate that feeling for me.

Why is it taking two weeks; it a custom size? There's loads of places with next day delivery.

No, but there’s a few logistics things that mean we can’t order one immediately. It’s a long story. Do you k kw anywhere that does next day delivery of fridges, etc that’s actually delivering next say? My friend’s fridge broke and she went through a couple of places that said next day who, at check out, actually quoted 7+ days due to high demand. She then went with AO, who said three days was the earliest delivery slot and that kept getting pushed back and it ended up being 11, so I’m just trying to be as prepared as we can be as we only get groceries in once a week.

Appliances direct have a few that could be delivered on Thursday. I've used them before without issue. Hope you find something quickly.

I'M SO SCUNNERED WITH THIS PANDEMIC. WORKING ALONE IN A BEDROOM SUCKS. NOT BEING ABLE TO GO AND VISIT THE SITES I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCKS. NOT BEING ABLE TO CHAT WITH COLLEAGUES OVER LUNCH SUCKS. F U COVID.

Massive hugs to you. It is crap, and it's okay to feel that way. Xxx

Running is that for me, that headspace, falling into a rhythm and just running until eveything else is gone for a while. I thought it was mostly just the challenge to get a bit quicker and a way to keep fit but I've really come to appreciate over the last year especially that it's probably a kind of therapy as well.

I enjoyed running when I was training a couple of years ago but I always get sore knees and a sore hip that feels like it needs sprayed with WD40! Does that pass?!

In my limited experience, it does with knowing when to rest. I hate every step slightly less now.

It’s annoying! I might give it another go. I’m starting a 90 day plan tomorrow and going to be doing HIIT workouts as part of that so I’ll either supplement that with running, or I’ll give yoga a shot.
Family 'did Asda shop in blue-light ambulance. "

As soon as I read that this was in Harpurhey I wasn't in the least bit surprised that someone from there would do this, or that " the driver was disqualified and wanted by the court.".

Numpty.

Say that to your hair.
Question for people following this Gamestop thing - now the big ol' short from Melvin Whatever has finished, and they've eaten their massive loss and have managed to close out their position, what now? I can't see any reason why Gamestop shares should be higher than the $15 they were before all this started. This is just an old fashioned bubble now, right? Presumably one that is being quietly shorted by other hedge funds in preperation for the inevitiable crash in a week or so.
HODL!

Because they haven't closed out their position, they are lying and trying to manipulate the market.

It can only have been a happy accident that when I checked the "film" category on BBC Iplayer last night, The Big Short was pretty prominent.
Well, that was a first for me; a Co Op with an Interrogation Room.

I watched my first film on iPlayer a few days ago - All The President's Men. Not seen it before and it's a great film, but the BBC logo displaying the whole time is a little annoying.

I hope you’ve read the book
Got a bit wet walking on the Moors, wanted to use some free newspapers to stuff them to aid them in drying. However, I couldn't find any, then I realised that we've not had any delivered in about a year! We still get magazine type things, but no newspapers!

Anyway, here's what the Moors looked like:

Dropped off 9 laptops at a local school for kids to use from home. 8 that I’ve sourced from work and 1 from me. That’s enough to fill their backlog of requests from families.
Yay! Well done. That’s fab news x x x
I’ve got another 30 or so that I should be able to rehome soon as well.

Feels good.
Do you work at Currys?
No, he's a prolific house burglar.
As exciting as those options would be, when my employer was sold, the new owners provided us all with replacement laptops.
Staff had the option to keep their old ones in exchange for a charity donation, but we had plenty of spares anyway.

Like discussion, but maybe a bit more formal or technical. Like, we'd discuss the footie but we'd have a discourse on Monetary Policy.
Sort of conversation but about a specific thing?
When you don’t like a particular training program.
That was what I thought as well but someone was trying to tell me it was only for disagreements!

Can you "drop off for local school kids" to order?

He actually steals them from better equipped schools.
I did an online quiz at the weekend. One of the rounds was anagrams of James Bond films - a minute to answer each. I watched the counter tick slowly down whilst staring blankly at ROND .

It's 'O, DNR' which is shorthand for Live and Let Die.
