Woohoo!

I have stolen a significant portion of a 20 year old quiz show and put it into a slidesgo template. I hope you enjoy it
I am not sure I can make today. Julie has a op tomorrow l, so need to spend so time with a very stressed lady.

I would only be boring you about my marathon. :)

I was looking forward to hearing about it!

Hope Julie is okay. :)
She is just very stressed, as can be expected.

I will tell you about my run next week. :)

Somewhat ironic, as my round is in your honour :DD
Best wishes to J, Kov.

Everyone else - details are up. See you later.

Dammit :)
and my round needs some expert work by the scorer! What are we going to do?
Sorry I didn't make it last night but I forgot to tell you all that I was working late. Hope it all went well and I should be back next week.

I mentioned the quiz to a non-beexer so there's a potential for a new face later today. :O
Great fun tonight and many good rounds.

The "TIL" part of my round on UK long-distance paths was about the International Appalachian Trail:

Wikipedia, so therefore 100% true wrote:
Geological evidence shows that the Appalachian Mountains, certain mountains of Western Europe, and the Anti-Atlas range in North Africa are parts of the ancient Central Pangean Mountains, made when minor supercontinents collided to form the supercontinent Pangaea more than 250 million years ago. With the break-up of Pangaea, sections of the former range remained with the continents as they drifted to their present locations. Inspired by this evidence, efforts are being made to extend the IAT into Western Europe and North Africa.
Makes perfect sense really, but super irritating that it was my first instinct and I dismissed it off-hand ;)
I probably should have drawn attention to the quiz topic as a hint. But it was just such a good "wtf" moment when I was researching it I had to include it.

Also, next time I do anything involving length or numbers I'm going to make it multiple choice. Better for my average I think.
Tonight's details are up!

I doubt that I'll be quizzing tonight.

I had my Covid booster on Saturday and last night I woke at 3am with pain in my upper back and in the muscles on the back of both arms. When I got up to get some pain killers I realised that I was extremely fatigued, but then couldn't get back to sleep. I don't know if it IS side effects from the booster, or a combination of the booster and the flu jab I had the week before, but I'm certainly not fit for work today.

Aww, well I hope you feel better soon.
Get well soon, Warhead. I thought you had to wait until three weeks after a flu jab to get a Covid shot? Rest well x
I shall try and get on tonight as I know I haven't been on for a few weeks but I am up to my eyeballs in decorating at the moment so it may be a little difficult.
Hi everyone,

Afraid I'm going to give it a miss tonight. Not feeling 100% and wanting an early night .

The link will still work and I think I've set it so anyone can share.

See you all next week.

Like everything else, they’ve changed the advice. I think it was at least a week’s gap for a while, but my sister-in-law had both on the same day at the same session last week and has had no ill effects.
Sorry. I won’t be there either. I am not feeling 100%. Been awake since 5 and I need an early night :(
It turns out that my symptoms were nothing to do with vaccine side effects.

I am currently residing in the Cardiac Care Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital as I’ve had a heart attack, but I stuck with that theory about the side-effects until I face planted in the living room yesterday, when Mrs. W called the doc, who said we should get straight to A&E.

We bypassed the four hour wait when they gave me a quick scan, and by midnight I’d had a couple of stents fitted and some blood clots removed. So it looks like I’ll be off work for at least another 4 weeks, unless there are complications. I’ll also need open heart surgery at some point in the future, but that could be months away. Hopefully I’ll be home in the next couple of days.

Jeez, Warhead. Sorry to hear this, Lovely. I hope it all goes very well and you’ll be taking a lot of gentle care of yourself. X
Goodness me. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Love to you and Mrs W and hope everything goes smoothly now.
Get well soon Warhead! Here's to a speedy recovery for you!
Bloody hell Warhead, that's one hell of an excuse for missing quiz this week.

Hope you're back on your feet soon :luv:
Really sorry to read this.

Hope you get better soon.

Best wishes!
Jesus, fella. Heal quick.
Good grief, Warhead! Good luck and best wishes.
Bloody hell!

Get well soon dude
That's terrible Warhead, hope you're back home and recovering soon.

No excuse for missing quizzes now you don't even have to go to work. ;)

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Xxx
Fucking hell. Hope you recover quickly, fella

We're the unhealthiest forum ever!

Get well, fella.
Thanks everyone. I’m off the Cardiac Care ward and in a single room on a standard cardiac ward, as my progress is deemed to be satisfactory. Should be going home tomorrow.

I thought, “Lovely, a single room where I can get some peace.” The guy in the next bed to me upstairs was a 60 year old ex plasterer who’d become allergic to plaster and who had an attack at 3am on Friday. He thought it was indigestion, as a lot of people do, but it got so bad he called for an ambulance. He had stents fitted shortly after being admitted, but had complications and was hitched up to a machine to help his heart pump blood. This meant he was flat on his back and not allowed to move at all. I felt sorry for him until he started calling, or being called by a stream of friends and family, to whom he talked bullshit and clearly had no idea what treatment he’d had. He told all of them, and the nurses, that the most exciting thing was being in an ambulance “with the dee daws going.” BUT it was driven by a WOMAN.

Unfortunately, a few minutes after I was moved I could hear the faint strains of music coming from a vending or fruit machine. The same 12 notes, with canned clapping, playing continuously, for three hours so far. I’ve a good mind to call the cops and complain about noise nuisance.
Glad to hear you're making good progress :)
Thanks, but I’m a little embarrassed now. The clapping I could hear was the clock in my room ticking, but it perfectly synchronised with monitors beeping in the next room. It was only when the monitors went off that I could tell the clapping was the clock. Wazzock!
If you like 90s novelty one hit wonders, then I have a cracker of a round for you on Tuesday!

:DD
How you feeling today Warhead?
Slightly guilty for hijacking this thread, and a bit delicate, like when you’re getting over a bug. That may be the new meds, or just the fatigue of being in a strange and not very restful environment.

Overall, a lot better than when I was admitted on Thursday night.
Please don't feel guilty, I'm glad you posted.

I'm glad you're feeling better, any chance you can go home today?

So glad you’re feeling better than a few days ago, Warhead. Has knowing the source of the beeping and ‘clapping’ made it more or less annoying? Hope you’re home soon and rest well when you get there x x x
It was just as annoying, really, but I resigned myself to it. Now I’ve been moved on to a 4 bed ward a bit further away and there’s more background noise and I can’t hear the clock so I may have a better night tonight. Hopefully I’ll be going home tomorrow anyway.
Fingers crossed for you, Warhead. I bet your family are hopeful to have you back home soon

Well, we've got to know him a bit better this last year through quizzes and, um...

Kidding, of course! Hope you'll be out, hale and hearty.
