I'll put aside my round about <insert rudeness here>.
The more the merrier!

(people that is, not 13 year olds - that sounds a bit weird :P)
It sounds a lot weird TBH.

My round(s) is(are) not particularly kid friendly (nothing rude or anything, just might be a bit boring, unless they really love countries and/or islands!)

Apparently these are perfect for crunchy nut cornflake breaks. :D

Which I'm sure you'll agree is sound advice all round. Recommended to everyone.
Better than the alternative advice, which was to staple a teabag to your ear. :DD
I think warhead stole the show. With a poem form memory.

Yes, very much so! And another exciting celebrity encounter!

Absolutely :blown: Not just any poem either - Jabberwocky is a proper mouthful!

All the more mind blowing when you consider that I think a lot of poetry is for pretentious tosspots.

I'm quite good with things that don't rely on short term memory. I memorised Jabberwocky over 40 years ago.

Pop stars and guns. What's not to like? :metul:
Tonight's details are up, with just over 12 hours to spare!

Not tonight as I have to set up a mesh network and I am dead on my feet.
Great fun and educational as ever. Those who weren't there will never know which of us once hung around outside the temple in Salt Lake City for eight hours, or the reason why.

The book about S****tology I recommended is Going Clear by Lawrence Wright.
I have just thought of an excellent quiz round...

I just watched a classic 90s film with loads of famous actors in it. That's all I'm prepared to say at the moment.

Was it the matrix?

Damn, I uh, mean, no comment !

Great fun last night as ever.

That question on the most common regnal name gets wonderfully complicated depending on how you phrase it. As Gaz said "British monarchs", the answer would be George, as I - VI were Kings after the Acts of Union. For post-Conquest monarch regardless of country, Henry ties with Edward with 8 (Scotland can only muster 6 Jameses, and most died in horribly funny ways), although Team H can sneak ahead if Henry the Young King counts (Henry II's "mini-me"). But once we take in everyone from Alfred, there are three Edwards before the Normans started numbering themselves and generally mucking things up.

The TL;DR is "Rex Factor" is awesome. Remember Aed!

And we thought there was controversy over my dog sense of smell question :DD
On reflection, I probably shouldn't post anything that might make my score drop. Pretty tight last night.

Do you mean by this that "British monarchs" should only include monarchs after the Acts of Union?

I guess the issue is how do you define a "British monarch" - is it a "monarch over Britain" or "monarch in Britain"?

I'd take it to mean the former, but I think the question I was reading out meant the latter.

Love a bit of quiz pedantry, I get a perverse pleasure out of this kind of thing at our local pub quiz even though I know he's just going to say "quizmaster gets final word" ;)

I have found a weird quiz round,

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It is a virtually unmodified quiz that I found. The questions are really easy (everyone would get over 90%) but there are some VERY strict time limits imposed by the quiz making it much trickier

It is out of 60ish points or so.

Should I divide the scores by any factor?

ie
2 (max points 30ish)
3 (max points 20ish)
4 (max points 15ish)
5 (max points 12ish)
6 (max points 10ish)

Or leave it out of 60ish?
I'd go with 3, so it gets out of 20. Sufficient to allow points for the additional difficulty, but not enough to heavily adjust the balance.

Unless I'm way behind by the time we get to it, and I need all the points I can get.

By the way, I have written a celebrity picture round in honour of a significant anniversary.
Sorry I missed you all last night... I've got a few things going on but I should be back next week.
Hope you're OK dude :luv:
Hi everyone,

I've set up a meeting for tonight and posted details in the usual place.

Unfortunately I won't be there as I'm still pretty knackered from the weekend. I've tried to adjust the settings to allow anyone to share but I'm not 100% sure if it will work.

Have fun anyway and see you next week.

I'm not going to be about.
We may not make it tonight either - Jem's got loads of stuff to do for work and I'm feeling like shite.

If we don't see you, have a good evening :)
Can't believe I'm missing quiz to put a bloody site live.

how did it go?
Finally got the go ahead around 9pm, and after some minor domain issues everything was up and working by about 9:25 (woo!)

Stopped work about 9:40 and went straight to bed but spent what felt like another 2hrs+ trying to get to sleep (too much intensive screen time for my old brain :'( )
Glad it went ok... hope today is less stressful.
I almost certainly can't make next week as I will be in a travel lodge in Cambridge!
Hoorah!

(Worried face - what will we do?!)
