I also kind of hope that looking down that list now will bring on the same reaction from most people as looking down the current cabinet will in 10 years.
I don't think any of them will get anywhere near being considered saviours of the human race.

I started off with an appalled face. But get me to Lily the Pink and you definitely keep me through So Macho, Cotton Eyed-Joe and the Macarena. It falls away, though - did they think no one would make it to the last 10 or so?

That is an awful album..
Tonight's details are ready. See you all from 8 tonight.

Thanks everyone!
The timer I used to create a sense of urgency and panic is available at https://www.bigtimer.net/.
Details up for tonight's thrilling instalment. See you later.

I'll be there! Though, following the example of some of my (non beex, obvs) Facebook contacts, I am having to spend the day commenting on every news story to tell everyone who has never met me that I don't care about it, so I am very busy.
If it's any comfort for you, I don't care whether you care or not
I care that you don't care! And I've never seen Game of Thrones*! Am I unique?

Bad news about my 70s rock intros round

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I was unable to keep it to 10 songs, it's unfortunately twice as big as the previous two decades

Sorry everyone.
Man... I was thinking just yesterday about the quiz and the 70s round. I'm not that good on 70s music but still, looking forward to it.
Details up. Running out of passwords at an alarming rate.

EDIT: Bad Giphy.
Passwords? Would this be a good time to say that I don't believe I've ever had to put a password in to join the Tuesday night quiz?
If you click a Zoom link it jumps straight in. I just like having something more fun than the string of numbers that it automatically creates, although the 10 character limitation is a bit restrictive at times.
I might delete that Giphy. It's starting to creep me out.

It's very rapey

Oh. I have been using my phone then typing it into the computer each week. For a year.

OMG. How much 70s music was there?
DavPaz wrote:

Too much, and yet at the same time not enough
and as I was just saying to the REDACTED, I think it's only going to get worse. I could have done 50 odd 70s bands, and I am not sure I can do any better for the 80s, 90s or 2000s either!
right, I am anticipating a similar issue with the 80s, 90s and 2000s as to what I had with the 70s.

Please can you let me know what number of questions you would prefer for these round:

A) 10
B) 11 - 14
C) 15
D) 16 - 19
E) 20
F) 21+

Thanks
I like B. Or D. C is right out.
I'd be happy with E.
Ross likes 80s rock!
I'm drawing up a long list and I'm at 70 already, I clearly need some guidance

an E please Bob.

:DD
A, B or C for me - but only because we have to turn our speaker volume down so that the music isn't too loud - but then we can't hear anyone talking even when the music isn't playing, so just makes things a bit odd ;)

Thank you, thank you all.

I'd just like to thank my agent, my coach, my marketting team, catering team, prduction team, my family who've supported me through the hard times at the bottom of the table, my dog, my accountant, Uncle Tom Cobley and everyone at Widecombe Fair. I couldn't have done it without you.

I will now have to consider my future options, as they do say that it's wise to retire when you're at the top of your game and I'd like to spend more time with my family.
DavPaz wrote:

Quite a lot in the 70s intros round, oddly enough.
Malc, I'd be happy with any of those options, apart from F as I feel like you need some kind of upper bound.
Our Patented Alternative to Dull Tuesday Evenings continues from 8 tonight! See you all later.

Who'd have guessed that Joans was the host? Ha!

Another great quiz tonight and a good chat afterwards! Thank you everyone.

Oh yeah, and I won the quiz.
yeah, thanks Joans and well done Ross!
I did rejoin, but I guess that's a natural break in proceedings!
I didn't realise we could rejoin? I thought the meeting would have been ended until Kern reactivated it? Oh well, never mind. It is late I guess... Good night all!
Yeah, we can rejoin until Kern changes the password.
doing 90s rock quiz intro (Sorry Kern, I reckon I need to do a classical musical intros round after I've done 2020s)

do you prefer a super short intro of a popular song, or a longer intro of an obscure song?
Would you prefer an intro that's short that people who know the band/song will easily get, or a longer intro that perhaps fewer people will get, but if they know the band it becomes more obvious?

Why not do half and half? Makes it slightly more challenging, but maybe doesn’t disadvantage anyone too much.

What happens after the quiz probably should stay after the quiz...

But seriously, if you're marked as "host" there's no way to sneak out and let things continue (that I've found...) so I just pick the first name on the list to pass the torch onto.

Did it shut itself down when the arbitrary 4 hour timer I always set ran out?

Back when I used to go to a pub quiz weekly (a long long time ago in a city far far away), the music round was always my cue to get a round in. Also, sport.

I enjoy your selections so don't change it just because I can never remember titles or artists!
That "wide but not long" question still feels like some logic puzzle or joke to me.
It was a really good quiz.. I have not laughed as much in ages..

Thanks for helping with the job decision, and the bathroom advise.

Jones and Tanya, I will pick your brains for bathroom advice.. thanks xx
Sorry guys, it might have warned me, but I was just stabbing at buttons to close it so I could go to bed.
