It'll just come down to the games really, same as it should always be for a new console generation IMO, no reason to jump on board early doors.
Both the new consoles are packing substantially more CPU power than the current generation, maybe that can be leveraged in some fashion for larger and/or more detailed game worlds, although looking at what's been possible on base PS4 hardware with the likes of Death Stranding, you have to wonder.....
Unreal Engine 5 offers some impressive 'new shinies' capability, although despite being a mega-nerd for this sort of thing, watching the UE5 tech demo running on PS5 hardware, I wasn't exactly blown away.
Wait and see will be my approach, I'll probably end up with both the new XBox and a PS5 at some point, but it'll be on the basis of 'I really want to play Games X and Y' rather than buying them because they're new and shiny.
