It can, indeed, fuck off.

I mean, you don't have to do every shrine. I'd ignore any that weren't fun.

I did it. And I looked a right twat on the train doing it.

How much more so than usual, would you estimate?

Downloading is still possible, can no longer upload any though.

I haven't linked a Nintendo ID so I haven't tried, but this is good to know. I am imagining there are some fun creations out there.

It was a solid 25% increase
Just started Spider-Man. It is a glorious game. Loving running on the side of buildings. Fwip fwip
Deathloop. I bought it without realising it was a "stealth em up" but I played something recently that involved sneaking around and for the first time ever I quite liked it. You still have to do a lot of killing, but I found out that the turrets are good for that.

Really enjoying it. Very different, looks superb and very funny indeed. Well worth buying.
Anyone else waiting and watching in anticipation for Diablo 2 Resurrected on Thursday? Having played the close alpha and the beta they've done a really great job at it.
What are the recommened PS5 games?

I have Ass Creed Valhalla, which includes the PS5 game.
The Astro Bot game that comes with it is probably the best showcase still.

Ass Creed sounds like some shifty porn
Depends if big men sticking stuff in people is porn.... oh wait :)
Deathloop
Last of Us 2
Miles Morales
Mainly

Deathloop
Outer wilds (echoes of the eye dlc)
Deep rock galactic
Divinity original sin 2
Elite Dangerous
Wreckfest
As you have the disc console, this is a handy list to check if you can buy the PS4 version for cheap and get a free upgrade to a PS5 version

Thank you. CYberpunk 2077 is £17 on ebay now!

Good call.. I will look at that..
Mrs W and I introduced our 12 year old granddaughter to Risk on Saturday. We gave her advice on strategy, but she got the concept very quickly and knocked me off the board once we'd cashed in a few card sets. She might well have soon if we hadn't gone on long enough for her bed time to interrupt the proceedings.
Knockout City is quite good fun, stylish presentation and I can feel myself getting ever so slowly, ever so slightly, better at it.

There are some people on there that are just toooooo good and I get trounced (much like COD, PUBG, etc, I'm just not good at online competitive gaming with randos), but the rounds are quick and sharp, so it can stay fun.

Are you playing exclusively with randos? I'm tempted to fire it up tonight with a couple of pals
I haven't bothered to add any friends on PS4, but I'd be happy to jump into a game if it ever lines up timewise.
On Curio's recommendation, I'm playing Maquette and it's simply superb. Loving the puzzles, and when you have that "Aha!" moment, it all seems so simple.
I’m plodding my way through Metroid Dread. I’m largely enjoying it — it’s the first 2D Metroid I’ve played. There are moments of frustration, due largely to the frequency of boss battles and the, to my mind, quite fussy controls. But I’ve managed to get past all of them so far without hitting a wall, so that’s something.
Is anyone else playing it?
I've been playing Pokemon Brilliant Diamond on the Switch. It's a good game
Midnight Protocol (steam): you are a 1337 h4x)(0r and you infiltrate systems using a command line interface in this turn based game. Choose from programs to defeat barriers to progress, and upgrade your console to make stuff better.

It's simple enough, to move you type in where you want to go around the network and it can get quite tense as you try and work out if you have enough time to do something before the trace fires and you get caught . Missions are done through email providing a narrative and the while thing is wonderfully immersive on this side.

Well worth the tenner or so I paid for it.
Halo: Infinite campaign. Downloaded this on PC last night and it kept me up until pretty late. So far so Halo but in a good way. Really enjoying it.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. A proper Baldur's Gate style old school CRPG. Great fun, expansive plot, tons of fun combat.
I played Deathloop last night, what a great concept. I am loving the madness of it all. It is groudhog day with guns. The characters integration is fab and funny.

I do like how the person hunting you just pops up to fuck you up, at the worst possible times..

One of the most frustrating games I have played. I really am enjoying it. Just dying is too easy. :)

This now has the thumbs up from Curio AND Mali?

And it was free on PS+?

Don't sleep on this!
I’ve been playing Inbento today. It’s available on all the platforms, including mobile, for not many pennies (and is 40% off on Switch at the moment)

It’s a little puzzle game where you (the actual cat’s mother) try to fit little blocks of various foodstuffs into your kitten’s bento box, to match the recipes on the page.

Ignoring the ‘background’ (cats and kittens, which song really feature apart from as little slides between sets of levels) the game mechanics change with each level set. So you might swap blocks, stack blocks, cut and paste blocks (etc) to match the patterns given. It’s not difficult, but it’s engaging, and charming.

GT7... golly it is pretty. But the Mini Cooper 1965 is not german. A small hill I will die on.
X Com 2 on the switch.

It's absolutely superb. There's proper tension as your super skilled sniper misses two shots in a row and then your assault lady with the axe and shotgun has to get close and personal to finish the job, ending up in half cover.

Well worth the £3.99.

It continues to be my favourite way of spending the commute. Although it means I arrive at work either elated or distraught. I've decided to not try Ironman for that reason.

It's definitely not without performance issues on the switch, but I can forgive them

Great isn't it :)
Hrngh. I will not start it again.

Are you sure? It's very cheap and very good. Apparently
£3.99! You'd pay more than that for your lunch. Bargain.
£7.98 is a bit rich though
Damn you and your quick finger deleting :D
Ha! Look at Trooper everyone... He can't add up and thinks that I posted the same post twice in a row and didn't mention when I deleted one. Doesn't he look foolish?
HOw will he ever recover from this? The shame must be unbearable

Excellent
I had a rookie make a Heroic Sacrifice, to complete an objective and allow the team to make a fighting retreat. . Once all but the rookie were on the starship ramp to fly away, one got a l panic on, ran away and hide behind a tree.

Everyone else was in cover, so they all went on overwatch for this to pass, but a turn later, my grenadier took one in the face just as the panicing one pulled it together and made it back.

Ended the mission with two down and one gravely injured.

Brilliant stuff.
I'll tell you what I'm *not* playing. Gran Turismo 7.

The stupid always-online requirement for single player, coupled with some "extended server maintenance" due to issues spotted in the most recent patch (which came out yesterday morning) have meant that the game has literally been unplayable* for over 24 hours at this point.

I'm seriously tempted to just sack it off and sell it at this rate. The sheer number of annoyances I've found with it are rapidly outweighing the amount of fun I've been having with it.

* it does have an 'offline mode' which limits you to arcade races with a pitifully small number of car choices and no saved progression, which can Get In The Fucking Sea.
Oh no! Fortunately I've been too busy to play or I'd also be annoyed.
But otherwise I've been having a great time, what's annoyed you about it? Barring a couple of crashes it's worked fine for me
