Is this really a delicacy?

And what is it like?

They're alright, it's a buttery potato pie rather than a block of butter in pastry.
Can the NY Times work out where you are from, from what words you use and how you say them?

It's got me pretty accurately.
It got me, but it covered a fair swathe of the UK in doing so.

I'd have liked it to have given me it's "best guess" along with the possibles.
Mine’s a bit weird.
Pretty good!

Yeah, I generally told it what I called things when I was younger, rather than what I say now.

Same. For example, I rarely call children "bairns" now, but that was just normal 'oop north.

This is my Ma’s, by way of comparison.
I'm from central Scotland so this would appear to be fucking miles off. However dad was from Liverpool and mum's from Widnes, is that where those places are?
Nope. Sorry.

Apparently you've got a border accent.

And you're a scouser
I'm from everywhere, apparently. Which I guess is right - born in the South, grew up there, but lots of time in the North and some overseas, just to mess it up a bit.

I don’t think I uses Any regional words as I child tgat I don’t use now, or vice versa. Maybe ‘bunk off’, but I guess that’s mostly because it’s something you only do as a child (well, not me, but those that did).

Been nosing at https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/ this morning. AI-generated photos - just refresh the page to see a new one. It made me wonder - if you were looking for stock photos of people to use on a website or whatever, I wonder if there'd be any copyright issues involved in nicking creations from this site.

That website is a lot less disturbing on a phone screen. On a full sized monitor... some of those faces will haunt my dreams.
I saw Fatboy Slim. He was awesome.
