For nine months, I've carried my iPhone everywhere in my pocket, with no case. I've dropped it onto tiles or concrete half a dozen times. The back and corners are scuffed to fuck, but other than that and a tiny, tiny hairline scratch on the screen it's fine.
It's surprisingly robust, isn't it. I have more scratches (very, very faint ones) on the back than on the screen (none), and it lives unprotected in my pocket almost all day. Granted, I make sure it's the
