I think the Russell Brand following people is a fake one, who's adding everyone who follows to real one. One's @RustyRockets, the other is @RustyRocket.

I think it's the single best third-party app on the iPhone.

Who the fuck are they?

I've no idea, but last time I did a site that didn't work in IE 6, people got all angry. (Amusingly, I also just wrote a feature for .net about this very thing, although neglected to use the originally pitched title: 'Fuck IE 6'.)

With iPhoneTiny, the original code does just about work locally in IE 6, but with some design caveats. Inexplicably, it fails big-time now it's integrated into WordPress, and, frankly, I really can't be arsed to figure out why. I can't imagine my target audience is iPhone/iPod touch owners still mired in IE 6.
We deal with a lot of local councils at work, and they all tend to use IE6. It's a major pain, as they demand any site we build for them to be compatible with that browser, else they can't see/use it in-house. I really can't wait for the day I can ditch support for IE7, never mind 6.
We tend to still use 6 in-house a lot, but most of that is due to internal developers being totally incapable of updating their sites to work with a browser that has tabs and popup blockers.
I was asked to test out some online HR software yesterday and while generally it seemed pretty slick and could be useful, half the features didn't work, so I assumed it wasn't quite finished.

I was wrong - it works fine in IE, but only IE. Pah.
Well, every commercial site I design works fine in IE6, with minor aesthetic changes. iPhoneTiny isn't a money-maker, and so IE 6 users are in the dark for now (or can just use the Twitter stream, or just avoid the site entirely).

Ditto, but I do find myself holding back a bit sometimes to keep IE6 happy. It's a shame, because I'd love to finally be able to properly push forward on commercial sites.
We're dropping support for IE6 in March. Whoo!

Turned on a 'current' work machine today and clicked a webmail link from the desktop. Guess what that booted? Tabless pile of crap :(

Yes, I've booted him now. Quite well done though, considering.

That's oddly compelling. Followeded!
I think I'm now following all the Twittering Beexers, assuming the ones with protected accounts don't set my 'follow requests' aflame and then toss them into a metal bin while cackling maniacally. Apols if I've missed anyone.

I had a reply from Jonathan Ross yesterday. He said how much he likes handheld gaming, and listed some of the handheld consoles he owns (inc. two Lynxes). He didn't even boast about any of my family having had sex or anything.
our foreign minister is twittering. he's a corrupt papist macchiavellan, but gave me a quite good reply on lybia..
Phillip Schofield is a twittering lunatic.
I too (as most will know by now) am finding my way with this Twitter.

Anyone with any recommendations for a Windows app? All the Air based ones take up way too much memory (stupid work PC with only 1/2 gig). Also can any of them sort by time posted so I can read posts I've haven't read down a list rather than go down to a bottom of a list and read up?

Phillip Schofield is a Twittering machine.
New Twitter users should note my account name has changed -- I'm not RichardGaywood any more, it's PenLlawen. Less characters, see.
Fewer characters.
You're all falling for the Philip Schofield/Russell Brand marketing machine. You corporate whores.

Ah. I was wondering why every time I tried to reply to you, it tried to talk to some dick my mind read as @penfold.

Also: fewer.
Haha, I know myp hates the less/fewer thing with the passion I reserve for "mute point" and "clique" pronounced "click".
GazChap wrote:

I don't follow either of those.
Phillip Schofield's Twittering is brilliant. There's two Russell Brand ones. One of them is fake and has the name of Russel Brand rather than Russell.

I don't follow Brand, but Schofe has been making a snowman in his garden. Legend.

Is it Welsh for Gay Wood?

Not quite.
"Raging Hommer"?

Mohh, indeed. I like the story behind it though so I'm sticking to it. Good guess though Mr Chris.
Is it a mythical Welsh folklorish character who, every spring time, will come and bring all the good boys their very own sheep?
Hah, I just noticed Dudley has gone so far as to block me on Twitter -- he's vanished off my Following list, and I am not allowed to re-add him. I wondered why Mimi seemed to be replying to things by him I hadn't read. How very grown up.
I have given this a go. For some reason. I am dudley_sucks Mister_Craig if you want to 'watch' me.

There are about 20 active Beexers on Twitter now, I think.
Chris Moyles was going on about twitter for a entire hour this morning. So I'm now following a load of low grade celebrities who don't know what Twitter is about, and Stephen Fry.

I might try posting on it a bit more often but I'm clearly nowhere near as interesting as $celebrities or the internet's famous Richard Gaywood so why would anyone care..

I found it took a while before I got my eye in, but now my natural wit and charm are shining through in 140-character bite-sized pieces.

It really is just a way into the top level of someone else's consciousness. I'm not sure I really want to be party to the random thoughts of anyone, let alone Philip Schofield.
