Happy Christmas from not quite so down under!

6.5!
7! I'm so lucky!
Merry Christmas peeps. I was up at 6.45 and there are no kiddywinks in the house. Just a lot of adults that need feeding.

Anyhoo, I hope you all have a good if not great day.
Merry Christmas you excellent bunch. Hope everyone had a lovely day.
Merry Christmas. All is currently peaceful Chez Warhead, TiVo set to record the essentials that we won’t have time to watch todayband soon the Great Pressy Migration from landing to living room will begin and then the traditional rituals will inevitably follow.

Enjoy your day as best you can. XXX
Just woken up
More animals. Because that's what we needed.

Insanely envious of the Switch!
I got a Black Country T shirt, the complete Futurama box set, a book about video editing (Thanks Secret Santa!) a spa day voucher for Mrs TheVision and I (I'm hoping I can get a tiny Thai lady to give me a massage with extras) and finally, proving that he still doesn't know me, an adventure day gift card from my brother in law. You know, for track day experiences or things like that.

The autistic obsession is stronger than the force..

Happy Christmas all.

Totally unexpected, and very generous of MrsDoc. I’m over the moon with it.

My brother does know me well and still managed to get me a heat-changing mug (despite the fact that he's given me a mug in the past and I now have about ten now) and a USB fan, for those tropical December evenings. :)
Happy Christmas!

Up at 5.50am, but had a stocking in his room with a small Lego set that once built kept him busy until 7am

Built 2 more now and started on a huge Playmobile Castle, having a "rest" from that to cook dinner now
Merry Christmas all!

I have been quite spoilt this year, favourites include a tablet, a digital photo frame (including photos of you guys preloaded :luv: ) and Foo Fighters tickets!

Joans has been chastised for not being as excited about his Switch as Gaywood is about his. :D
Hah! You should have heard me this morning. My voice went up three octaves.
I got teary-eyed watching 'Stickman' with my niece just now.

But I did hear you, you're THE Richard Gaywood. ;)

All of the UK heard you. :D

So pissed we can't access iPlayer from here :-/
Merry Christmas all! Laphroaig whiskey and Harry Gruyaert''s twin volume East / West study of 80s Russia and America in glorious kodachrome, Jakob Wegelius''s 'The Murderer's Ape', book vouchers and a big keg of fine Gloucester beer.

Chicken in the oven. Am watching Singing in the Rain for t'first time. It's pretty amusing, some good Simpsons style gag cuts.
'Singin' in the Rain' is pure celluloid joy.

A VPN service can fix this for you.

Does Hola still work? I know Netflix bummed them off.

It's cracking, Jean Hagen as shrill Bronx silent movie star Lina Lamont is a hoot. Just had the title sequence too. Show-stopper.

I was excited, and I've barely put it down in the last three weeks.

Also, Merry Christmas everyone, dinner is out the way and I'm having a sit down.
I cooked my first proper Christmas dinner from scratch.

Mini kov was impressed.
The in laws just started talking about mediums and having 'the gift'.

I've had to come into the kitchen.

Mine are both asleep, turn the heating up it works every time!
The in laws are still here. They came for lunch.. It is no longer lunch time.

Mine were here for five hours today, which is at the outer edge of the acceptable limit. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like them well enough, but chatting to them isn't exactly playing Hearthstone now, is it?

They did come laden with truly excellent pork, stuffing, and apple sauce though. (We did the veggies and spuds and gravy and what have you.)

I then fussed around cleaning everything up in my usual anally retentive fashion, the goal being to have the house not looking like it was Christmas Day at all, and indeed entirely back to normal, by around 5pm at the latest.
Rib of beef with pavé potatoes, creamed parsnip, parsnip crisps, peas, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, and a port jus.
1) thats a pig in blanket singular, 2) Jesus that's a rare rib of beef, even if you sous vided it, and 3) that's a pig in blanket singular.
The trick is to plate up a modest portion, take a pretty picture, then plate up the actual food you're going to eat.

Beef was 54 deg C, so theoretically medium-rare (for a fairly French definition of doneness...) It was redder than I'd expected, admittedly! Meltingly tender though.
Take a pretty picture of me smashing food against my face!
God damn it Bik, I'm a cook, not a miracle worker!
Looks great Doc.
My quest for the worlds largest diving watch continues...
To be fair, that watch scales to you like a 38 mm Apple Watch scales to me.

Yup, it works well on my wrist. It is 17mm thick though!
So, what games did you get with your switch? I’m very tempted to buy one myself.

It came with Super Mario Odyssey, which is delightful. I bought Mario Kart, which I’ve only had a couple of games of versus on so far. My sister got me Zelda and I bought Mario+Rabbids, neither of which I’ve so much as started.
We're off to Helen's sister's for her side of the family lunch.
Their step mum can be a bit of a nightmare at the best of times but I'm sure she'll be turned up to 11 at Christmas.

She's one of those that just can't grasp the concept of other people liking anything different to her, and is a typical Daily Heil reading pensioner.
I think those peas look a bit dry.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Went really well here in our new place Mrs Z made dinner and it was superb. Kids loved their prezzies, especially Harrison who got an XBox One THAT HE DIDNT ASK FOR!
The angle only adds to his delight.
