Its fairly trivial to setup an account for those other regions - download the games to your PS4 and play them on your normal account - in the past when the £ was much stronger against the dollar I did that for a lot of stuff - nowadays its not really worth it unless something you want is on a special deal

The Caffeine Humble Bundle that expires tomorrow is tremendous value. Headlander (the crazy head swapping game from Double Fine), This War Of Mine and Shadow Tactics (an apparently excellent samurai reimagining of the Commandos games), plus a bunch of other items, for about £9.

Axiom Verge is now free for download on the Epic Store, looks like a nice little Metroidvania and I had it on my list even before they announced it.

Next up in a couple of weeks will be Thimbleweed Park.
Crackdown 2 is free on the Xbox marketplace. I'm pretty sure that it's Xbox one compatible.
Slime Rancher is the current Epic store freebie with Oxenfree up next.

I already own all of those. What a bargain.

I fucking love Dune. Except for all the Dune books apart from those six; ie. all the ones written or co-written by Frank Herbert's son. I tried to read a few but they are terrible.

Warning if you've never read them: they get seriously, seriously weird and end on a cliffhanger that will never be resolved (unless you read the son's books, but see previous sentence.)

I read the first three as a teenager. Now that Denis Villeneuve is doing an adaptation I think it’s about time for another look
I grabbed these too. Not read any of them before.

Free Google Home Mini with Spotify Family
https://www.spotify.com/uk/family/

Seems to work for existing customers as well as new ones, which is very nice.
Cool, grabbed that, was just about to upgrade to family anyway so this was timely!
Does Spotify Family work at different locations simultaneously? I know a friend who had a lot of trouble with it.
I've never had a problem, and I share my accounts... Liberally.

I hope so because I'm sick of my drive home being interrupted with The Greatest Shitting Showman Medley.

Tacoma (second game from the developer that did Gone Home) is free for a couple of days from the Humble store:

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/tacoma

I had this to say about it when I played it:

Quote:
Another narrative game by the team that did Gone Home. A very different concept this time around though as you're a contractor sent to the space station of the title to retreive an AI and find out what happened to the crew. This plays out through what are essentially audio logs but the concept is beefed up be being essentially 3D video recordings which you can scrub through at will, and which you'll have to as you'll need to follow different crew members as they group and split throughout each recording so you can catch the full story. I was a little bit bored with it initially but the setup really grabbed me after a while and I was sad to see the end of it as it's a pretty short game. It looks lovely, has some nice touches (most of the achivements are amusing and interesting micros side quests) and a satisfying story so comes recommended if that sounds like your thing.
My mini has just arrived. Now to set it up.

Can someone explain this to me? I did look at that page but this free if you get that via that just confused me.

I have Amazon Prime. But not a Twitch thing. Would I need to buy something else? Is it only for new people?

I think you might need to create a Twitch account. Then you can link them following this page - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/custom ... =202096320. Then you should be able to follow the link in TheVision's post.

I don't think it's just for new people though as I was able to get the three free months, so cheers TheVision. :)

Cheers. I will look at this tonight.
The Witness is yer new current free game on the Epic store, with Transistor (the second game from the studio behind Bastion) coming on the 18th.
Free Google Home for Spotify premium users now, it seems.
Nope, that's a lie.
There's a deal with Xbox gamepass at the moment. 3 months for £1 which is a brilliant deal if you ask me!

Stories Untold is the next free game from the Epic Store, available from the 16th to 30th of May. It replaces World of Goo which is up right now. Here's what I had to say about Stories Untold for what it's worth:

Quote:
Horror anthology with an 80s aesthetic. It's difficult to dive into this without spoiling anything. The first of the four chapters has you sitting at a desk in front of an 80s Amstrad/C64 type of computer playing one of those old text based adventure games. This all starts off pretty normal then gets meta and weird as fcuk and just generally all kinds of sinister; all without you seeing anything more more than the desk, TV and text on the screen. The later chapters expand the interactivity to certain degrees but the meat of the stories are communicated without a great deal in terms of traditional gameplay. The look and feel of the game is just lovely and almost worth the price of entry alone but it's the overall atmosphere that's the real star of the show. It's a short game so not a massive time sink and is just a lovely thing to experience; I highly recommend people just go into it completely blind. If I had a criticism it would be that the first episode is still the strongest by far--and the 'microfiche' level is perhaps a bit tedious in places--but it's all good stuff.
Well that sounds good! Thanks for the headsup. I shall actually download this one instead of clicking "add to library"!

I've downloaded Axiom Verge (bored me pretty quickly), Subnautica (awful) and Thimbleweek Park (not played it yet); and with two of those three on my Steam wishlist they've saved me money already. Also quite a few of the other freebies were right up my alley (The Witness, Oxenfree, What Remains of Edith Finch) but I already owned them elsewhere, so overall they've got quite a good hit rate for my tastes.
Starship Troopers is £3.99 on Google Play Movies and Amazon
Starship Troopers 4 is a CGI film and is far better than you would expect.
He's not wrong.

Not really free if it’s a $12 subscription. Doesn’t include zombies either as it’s battle edition.
Trooper wrote:

Relatedly, I stopped my humble monthly.
Sorry, I forgot what forum I was on for a moment...

If you subscribe to humble monthly, for either $11, $11.17, $11.67 or $12 a month depending on your prepaid subscription length, or possibly a different price depending on any other offers you may have been sent and used, you can download Call of Duty : Black Ops 4 Battle edition, which is published by Activision, however you must have a battle.net account to be able to redeem the offer and be willing to use the battle.net Blizzard launcher to run the game on your Windows PC.

I had an offer for 12 months for $99, so I have another 11 months to go!
