My problem with being on the top bunk is the recurring thought that the person below is looking up and smirking.
Technically, I didn't buy it but a nice man on the Internet has sent me this for free! Finally... A legitimate copy of one of my favourites.
Hooray for nice men in the internet. Though never agree to meet them in person and always tell a grown up if they ask for your photo.

I feel seen.
Middle age is dull. I have bought a ‘waste separation and recycling unit’. Ok ok. A posh bin.
Ooh, I like the idea of that
It just saves me stacking the stuff on the side, now we have the purple bins.

It even has a 4ltr food cadddy that clips in.
If you do get one Jem, I hope you post it in the correct thread...
A flying model seagull:

Someone's finished but unflown project by the looks of things.
MarkG easily wins coolest bought thing to be listed in this thread.
He's called Kevin now. Hopefully I'll get some pictures of him in flight soon.
what have you called the seagull?
Also Kevin, it gets very confusing but there we are.

I did not pay £200. I got it off Amazon. I also had a big chunk of vouchers.
A brand new Dreamcast game in 2022!
Freddie Mercury is looking well
Looks nothing like him....
New Double glazing... ouch that was not cheap.

Yes! It is. It's like Shinobi from the arcade but modern, shiny and rock hard (not that Shinobi wasn't)
This is something my daughter bought for all the family to use.

It also constitutes a first world problem because:

a) There's no space in the house for it, so the plan is to put it in the garden shed that we cleaned out of garden toys and other misc. crap a couple of weeks ago.

b) The total weight is 57kg. In my condition I probably shouldn't attempt to move it. My wife had a cast removed from her broken wrist earlier this week and isn't allowed to 'lift anything heavy.' My daughter had a damaged intervertebral disc removed a while ago and has to be careful lifting heavy stuff. There's no one else here who could lift it.

My thinking was that we should unpack it and move it piece by piece into the shed and assemble it there. On unpacking it, in the hall, I found that the chassis contains most of the weight, and it's still too heavy for me to lift. I'm going to have to give this some thought.
I have an 8 bulb light fitting to finish wiring up, and the provided bits and instructions make nothing like electrically safe sense; so I bought this, because for pennies more I also get the multimeter I need but have forgotten why!
When you like both Lego and trainers.

Where are you? If you need a hand I'm sure we can get Kov to turn up.
I have reasonable rates for humping things about.
Gigolo lifestyle

Possibly, but in the end I used a trolley to get it to the back door, then my daughter and I did a two-person lift to get it to the shed, where I assembled it. We have to run an extension cable from the garage to power it, but it IS working. If we use it with the door open, we have a wonderful view of the shrubs on the opposite side of the garden.

Oh, nice, that's exactly the carpet I want for my stairs and landing
Well you can't have it, he's only just had it put down!
Finders Keepers, losers weepers
I mean, it looks like he found it?
Yeah but he's put it down so now it's fair game
New sofa. It is huge and soooooo comfy.

No this is mine too, just like the carpets. :)
Nice! Looks great dude :)
You are smooth, like dolphin.

Nice sofa. I'm a bit jealous
I am not a hairy fella... :)
I’ve bought a couple of things over the last couple of months. Nothing as big as a new carpet, or sofa, but nice little additions.

I got this just yesterday and it’s fab.

It’s an SD card reader that plugs into my phone. I’ve not been using my camera for the last couple of years as my 11 year old Mac has stopped recognising the card and is so slow that even if I do manage to get the pictures it takes hours to do anything with them. Now I can just import them to my phone. I tried it yesterday and it is magic. I can use my camera again :luv:

A few weeks ago I also treated myself to a big treat. I bought a gimbal to use with my phone.

I got it second hand (£50) to use to make little videos. It’s so clever and I love it. It’s certainly not something that I ‘need’ (hence it feels like a big treat for the cost), but it’s a lot of fun.

I just need to find the confidence to use it when we go to nice places now, instead of just around the garden.
I have my reading corner set up now..

The gimble is cool.
That looks so cool.. makes a note not to sunbath naked
Oh, cool! I like the all-in-one remote and the collision avoidance stuff it does, but it's too much of a price hike to upgrade from the Mini 2.

Does it do "follow me"?
I assume there are different rules for 250g drones?

Yeah, it's a pretty hefty increase over the Mini 2 but with my track record, I don't trust myself without the collision avoidance ;)

The AIO remote is pretty neat, basically a little Android device with their app pre-installed. You can get a remote that has a connector for your phone etc. but I'd rather have a display that doesn't get interrupted by distractions like phone calls and texts etc.

Grim... wrote:

Apparently yes, although I haven't tried that out yet. It also does "predefined" camera movements, like I can tell it to focus on me and then do a spiral movement up and around me.

Trooper wrote:

Yeah, for anything under 250g the rules are a lot more lenient. Still need to register with the CAA though, as this has a camera.
