I'd been considering getting a small android phone as a spare and something to tinker with for work and decided to get the Cubot KingKong Mini, one of those 'rugged' type of phones, but with a 4" screen. Here it is next to my main phone:

They were about £100 on Amazon, but this one was from eBay at £76, new, but just with an open box. Seems a decent little phone so far.
A few little cases to hold coins and stuff.
They won't work, everything will fall out.
I bought a second hand surround sound system (a low-ish range Yamaha amp and 5.1 speakers for cheapsies). Trying to get ARC to work was such a faff that I gave up on it and just used optical out from the telly, and it turns out a few of the amps inputs appear non-functional, but that's OK as it still does what I wanted it to do and quite well enough. It was cheap but decent enough AND could be sneakily upgraded bit-by-bit in the future.

This is the first time we've had a surround sound set up since 2013, and it's made the PS4 games experience quite a bit better.

What Yamaha Receiver is it? My RX-V477 works well with our Panasonic smart TV, only have one small hoop to jump when watching stuff from USB stick where I have to go to Apps > Viera Link > Speaker Selection > Home Cinema. Hope that might be of some help.
It's an RX-473 and the telly is a Samsung Q70T. A little bit of internetting seems to suggest it might be the TV that's not playing particularly nicely.

Thanks mate but given I wasted a few hours dicking with it already and the optical is working OK, I'm gonna leave it for a bit. Once we get better home internets (there's a fibre optic cable now run to the house... but it's not terminated properly with a usable connection yet) I'll check for firmware updates and stuff too.

Didn’t want to post the actual site because of the eye rolling that would go on...

You can (should... must!) post the picture instead of the link, but anyway if it’s a nice bike and if it makes you happy and you can afford it why would anybody roll their eyes?

Enjoy it! How long do you have to wait for delivery?

It's stunning.
That is a nice bike.. I looked at the DI2 and wowzers :)
Did you go for the mirror logos for an extra £300 or are you just going to make do with the black ones and look like a total peasant?

I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives. I've been meaning to get a road bike for sometime now.
Finishing the year strong.

Is that a mouse, an electric razor, or a remote to open a garage? Or something else?
It's a hand warmer that also doubles as a power bank. It's awesome!
Oh, cool! I hope you got one for each hand!

That is fab. Where did you get it from?
Amazon. They're a fairly generic thing it seems just search for USB hand wamer.
New coat for walking the mean streets of the Shire and something to keep me busy in lockdown. Currently a happy consumerist Kern.
That's a lovely Lego set to build. Some really cool building techniques and it looks great once done.

I've got mine wall mounted on one of these https://www.wickedbrick.com/collections ... o-saturn-v
Why are the astronauts wearing concrete boots?
Hopefully the bike they’re going on should be here before too much longer!
I treated myself to a couple of frying pans to match the sauté pan I got for Christmas. I love them so much!
I have a thing about frying/sauté pans. They are a base line thing for me for any hob cooking
Don’t think I’ve posted this before. Yet another watch.

I like the sauté pan because of the depth. I can make things like pasta dishes and put all of the vegetables in to cook down in the sauce without troubling a saucepan, and pop the lid on to help the flavours develop. Plus, it’s pretty.

How many watches do you have?

About 7 or 8 Fossil watches, 4 or 5 assorted brands, and now 4 by Christopher Ward which are the really nice quality ones.

I imagined this was because he's got 6 or 7 already up his left arm.

Very nice. I came very close to buying a Seiko SLA023J1 just before Christmas

You can track how far in the air you've lifted your arm?!
