All dress code norms are gone and as such I approve DavPaz' onesie. However, it is July, so WTF?

Did you pick yourself up some sippy cups to go with it?

Not a bad idea. Do they come in XL?

We're going camping at the end of the month. With my recent camping weather luck, I'm taking no chances. I will be warm.

Not some kind of animal, not interested

Only on the inside. Grr.

(The animal is a sloth)
Ordered some bubblewrap. This is 500mm x 100m apparently.
Thought I would try a power bank for the google home

So I can use it in the garden
That's cool! Do they do them for the minis?

TO THE GOOGLE
Amazon had ones for minis too.
Height adjustable camping table with a bottle opener.
That is cool, and a good idea.

A ZipStik. I already have one, but I don't want to destroy that with the project I have in mind, which brings me neatly on to...

An Adafruit Feather 32u4 Bluefruit LE.

I haven't done any kind of electronics work since I was at secondary school (well, if you exclude splicing wires into car entertainment systems and stuff) but I'm going to have a crack at turning this ZipStik into a Bluetooth joystick, so I can use it on my RetroPie without having to trail the cable across the living room.

What could go wrong?!

Well, you'll greater reduce any fuckups by not requesting help from Joans, that's for sure :DD

One electric shock and my reputation is in tatters. :D

Finest of all the 8-bit era joysticks.
Still got a couple of them in the loft
Love me ice cream nowadays.
Another day, another amazon email about onesies :D
You WILL be warm.
Is it a onesie if you wear more than one?
You don't want to go twosies in your onesies

Spare me your euphemisms!
Hi guys. You know what was cool? Of course you don't. Let me tell you: Aviator sunglasses.

You know what just got even cooler? Aviator sunglasses.

They just got MaliCool.

Now I like the shape, time to decide, mirrored or not?
This will be the picture they use in the newspaper.
Been getting back into fell walking recently with the Yorkshire Three Peaks planned one just over a months time. Thought I’d treat my feet to some new shoes.
I bought an axe and a fan.
Interesting combination.

It’s so he doesn’t get hot while chopping wood. You idiot
There is a "How to rig booby traps" book underneath, and the duct tape and twine arrives tomorrow.
The hatchet I have is probably my favourite tool. You can chop, hammer, pry, shave , and lift with it. Bloody love it.

And plastic sheeting.
The Pandora's Box DX that I ordered from Aliexpress arrived today and with no import duty too, which is nice. The HDMI image is rather jumpy, which might be down to my cheap TV, but at least VGA is good:

Now I just need to browse the rather long list of games and see what is playing. These later versions have MD/SNES/PS1 games too, but I'll stick with the arcade stuff for now.
It's almost like you left it on Wrestlefest to entice me... Job done!

It's one of the first games I look for on these things :D Interestingly, there are a lot more driving games and other games that would benefit from analogue control, so I'm going to have to see how good the USB support is for other controllers.
Very on trend for customs not to pick that one out, and for you to blithely open Pandora's Box in 2020.

Games head on - it looks really good!

How does it look from the side?
My nose is too big. Spoils the aesthetic.
More arcade stuff. This time a (bootleg) Shinobi arcade board. Wasn't expecting it to be quite so big (included the Master System version for comparison) so I'm not quite sure where I'm going to store it yet.

Went out (like, actually outside) the other week, but discovered my camera has decided it would prefer not to work anymore.

Considered an exact replacement, but then managed to feature-creep my way up the line a bit.
A canvas for my office wall.
A new satchel, like this.
Yep, we saw them in the shop window here https://www.cambridgesatchel.com/ then detoured past Bicester Village on the way home from Cambridge and got a third off in their outlet.
I had one exactly like that that I used as a school bag when I was in primary.

Clearly you were ahead of the times.

A new FHD IPS panel for my ThinkPad X240, which will take it from 1366x768 to full 1920x1080.

And a trackpad from an X250, which is (apparently) a drop in replacement, and has three actual buttons compared to the shite trackpad on the X240.

Sony WH-1000XM3

Amazon are currently knocking them out for £244 (reduced from £330). I felt like a bit of a twat spending that much on a pair of headphones, but five minutes wearing them and I was satisfied they were worth every penny.

The noise cancelling is eerily good, they go plenty loud without any distortion with wonderful sound quality across all music genres, the app is slick and everything about them behaves itself perfectly.

They are basically just for use with a phone though, (which I knew before I bought them), you can't do much with them without the app and Bluetooth pairing, although there is a 3.5mm connector if you wish to go down that route.

They're under £230 now which is getting to justifiable... But the xm4 is out and apparently is significantly better again at noise cancelling. Also the XM3 don't really sit too comfortably on my head, sounds like the bigger cups on the new ones will help. But of course the new ones are £349 which is just stupid!
