Agreed, however Aziz Ansari has ruined it for me by being a slimy fuck.

I know, it’s a shame. :(

It’s why we can’t have nice things.

Yes. Maybe read up on the general plot so that you have a good idea of the delatiinshios involved, but they should become pretty apparent quickly enough.

The first series is awful. I gave up on it but tried again with the seocnd a tear of me so later, and it was fab.
You definitely need an idea about the delatiinshios

WTAF mang! You're circa 40 years of age and you don't know about delatiinshios? Explains a lot...
I’m going to translate this as “relationships”

I was hoping for cilibrush .... except i cant remember how to spell it :-)
That’s because it was cibrushsille
My memory is going I thought it was trooper that posted it and spent ages going through his wwf type posts trying to find it :-)
I finished Salvation which I enjoyed, it's about an asteroid heading for earth and some ppl trying to science it away, but they are constantly hindered by all sorts of peril
The one problem this thing has is that the peril got more and more far fetched, government coups, dark money, hackers etc etc
But still good fun.

Now I was l looking for something soothing and I have found Good Witch, which is hilariously over the top what I was looking for
It's a Hallmark series and it's like 4 seasons of christmas films in an idyllic amercan town with an angel (witch) type woman helping friends and strangers with her gift and everyone is perfect and looks perfect and all is well in the end.
It's saccharine and so over the top that Im compelled to keep watching
Made a start on that DAYBREAK thing last night. The premise sounds pretty awful which is why I've put off watching it. (It's a zombie apocalypse except all the adults either died or got turned into 'ghoulies', only those under 18 survived.)

However, I found it instantly likeable and it's played very much for laughs with lots of fourth wall breaking, but the gore is pretty solid when it needs to be as well.

Enjoyed the first two episodes, will progress more with it this evening. After a few solid weeks of gaming thanks to THE OUTER WORLDS and DEATH STRANDING it'll be nice to just watch a bit of telly again.
I finished DAYBREAK and thought it was great. Obviously Netflix have cancelled it, the bastards. So Season One is all you're getting.

JOHN WICK 3 has been added to Netflix so that's two hours of total shit if you're up for it. Must have cost them a pretty penny. HEARTHLY'S TOP TIP - Don't bother.

6 UNDERGROUND would be a much better use of your time.

I'm fishing around for something to watch this evening, hopefully Netflix or Amazon Prime will have something between them.
We had a lovely christmas break

watched
the Witcher - loved it
the Mandelorian on Disney+ - fine but kinda meh
the 2nd season of Lost in Space - fun
the 5th season of How to get away with Murder - fun
a gazillion Christmas films
Also watched Jumanji original and new Jumanji which led us to the cinema yesterday for Jumanji the next level which was quite funny, 9yo loved it
Recent watchings on Netflix:

Travelers - interesting concept and quite well done. Wraps up quite nicely in 3 seasons, and although I got the feeling this was a bit of a rushed closure I enjoyed that it didn't get dragged on and on. This is worth watching. Lady T didn't dig the ending, but I did.

The I-land - Shit mix up of Lost (and even gives a nod to this), inception, the matrix and some other guff. The trailer spoiled what I thought was the most interesting twist. All over the shop in terms of tone and pacing. Some of the acting was OK and some was terrible, and it all seemed a waste of time. Luckily it was only 7 or 8 episodes.... but it was cack, don't bother watching it.
The Aaron Hernandez doc is excellent...boy he was messed up.
we rewatched the Witcher

I watched The Sandhamn Murders which is a Swedish series. I enjoyed it a lot, a few main characters and lovely Swedish lakes and some crime.
Ooohhh Netflix have added UNCUT GEMS, good job Netflix. That's this evening's viewing sorted out, I will take a day off from the incredibly good MR ROBOT.
I watch half an hour of uncut gems before bed. I'm enjoying it so far, but the BACKGROUND MUSIC is prettBACKGROUND MUSICy annoying, I understand that is a styBACKGROUND MUSIClistic choice and is supposed to beBACKGROUND MUSIC intrusive and add to the chaos, but it's really fucking BACKGROUND MUSICannoying, aBACKGROUND MUSICnd makes it difficult to follow at times and really difficult to hear the BACKGROUND MUSICdialog.
I'll watch it with subtitles as I do everything, so should be fine.

Their previous film, GOOD TIME is flipping fantastic so I have high hopes for this.

(GOOD TIME is also on Netflix.)

They are the sole distributors of it outside the US so that shouldn't be a surprise.
Who the fuck follows that sort of stuff?

Here’s a film I’m interested in. I wonder who has obtained the distribution rights outside the US...

Well, Bamba. Apparently.

As far as anyone outside the US is concerned (i.e. all of us) it's a Netflix exclusive film so if you want to see it, it's worth knowing where to go. It's no different from knowing that The Irishman is Netflix exclusive. Or that The Boys and Mr Robot are only available on Amazon. Or any one of a shitload of other examples of films and TV shows that get talked about all the time here and elsewhere. If you're not following that sort of stuff then you're probably in for a lot of frustration in wondering why you're struggling to find stuff you want. Also: go fuck yourself.
That’s a wider point than “Why are you surprised Uncut Gems is on Netflix, they’ve got distribution rights, DUH.” Also: I will cause I know how I like it.

I don't understand why. Loads of stuff is exclusive to certain streaming platforms these days and people know that (The Irishman being a good recent example); I'm not sure why this is different?

Also my (badly expressed) point wasn't so much "You should know this Hearthly!" and more "It's not really 'good job' of Netflix to add Uncut Gems, it's basically their entire job in this example."
It is a netflix film isn't it.. It is also in the cinema, but not in the charts..

This is true.

Not being in the charts is a good thing, I don't think it'd beat the new Drake single to the No. 1 spot.

I would rather listen to this
I watched UNCUT GEMS which is flipping fantastic but I would imagine might not be for everyone.

If you enjoyed GOOD TIME then I suspect you'll get along with this, it has the same kind of endless forward momentum as the protagonist drives onward towards a somewhat sketchy goal.

Adam Sandler is terrific, I don't have the negative opinion of him that a lot of folks seem to. I'm aware he's supposed to have been in a load of awful comedies but I haven't watched them, which seems the sensible thing to do with bad films.

This is an incredibly kinetic film, it kicks off dialled up to 11 and pretty much stays there for the duration, it can almost become exhausting to watch and the tension at some points approaches being borderline unbearable. (This is praise, not criticism, during one sequence I became aware that my entire body had tensed up and I'd sort of stopped breathing.)

It's worth noting that we're not really supposed to like the protagonist, whilst he's not the 'bad guy' he's clearly no angel either, and how far you're prepared to get on board with his actions and understand them (if not forgive them), might come down to how sympathetic you are to addiction and/or have been down that road yourself.

I really liked this one, but I can see it dividing opinion.

910/1000
You’re welcome.
If you have multiple profiles on your account, you have to do it for each of them individually.
The Pharmacist.

Good watch. Nothing unsurprising here though really. Just shows how scummy the human race can be.
Watched the new season of Sabrina - didn't love it as much as the previous ones, there seemed to be too many stories making it muddled
Watched October Faction - monster hunting family with tech and members of a monster hunting company, made interesting by progressively being showed that nothing is as it seems and there is no clear right and wrong
Watched Locke & Key - lovely look and very interesting magical keys but a little confusing who it's for as I would say it's for older kids but it has a 16 certificate which I don't understand
Titans finished. That was a really good 2 seasons.

Anything similar to watch??
Well if you liked S1E4 of Titans there's Doom Patrol.
Has anyone watched Ragnarok. It looks interesting.

No but it is on my radar
Watched the first ep. It was pretty good, yet standard gritty skandi drama but with bit of fantasy.

Is it something You have to concentrate on. I watch a lot of tv when On my indoor bike, so I watch easy stuff.

It's probably a bit too good for background fodder, bearing in mind I've only watched 1
I've been watching that PANDEMIC on Netflix which is really interesting and eerily timely.

Also one of the lady scientists is well fit so that helps.

Deffo worth a watch and a great documentary, you do realise how fucked we'd be if something properly deadly emerged.
Weekender. Great fun and a nice trip down memory lane :)
Finished Pandemic last night, brilliant documentary series and really quite humbling to see the commitment and selflessness of those at the frontlines of this stuff.

Highly recommended.

I thought it was a fairly well argued case. The increase in piracy traffic as streaming services have diversified is interesting.

I know a few folks who of late who have gone back to the mindset of 'fuck it, I'll just pirate it'.

Netflix update: not particularly doomed.
Incredible to think that they've done so well this year, I can't think of any possible reasons either.
