Cool, thanks! Will get on it later.
Stuff I watched on Netflix recently

Altered Carbon : Proper good that, really enjoyed it. Great world building, good acting, looked spiffy. Ortega had cracking norks. 780 bananas . (Incidentally, I wondered if the books was where Kov got his user name from, so googled it, and it led me to this page https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Kovacs , which I found amusing ;))

Black Mirror Season 4 : Some great episodes, I really liked the dating app one, and the star trek one. Not so keen on the archangel one, was a bit drawn out and predictable. Watched all 6 episodes in one sitting, so can't have been too bad. 812 bananas

Making A Murderer : Missed out on this when it was a "thing". As with Staircase, what is presented in the documentary is very one sided. I finished the show thinking he was stitched up, I read more about it afterwards and am certain he did it. His nephew less certain on how much he was involved and what actually happened in what sequence though. 692 bananas

Evil Genius : Crazy heist. Crazy people. Interesting story. 708 bananas

Final Space : Watched the first 4 episodes. s'alright. I struggle to get into animated series these days for some reason. Even Rick & Morty season 1 was a treck to get through for me. 512 bananas
The only thing that really concerned me over Making A Murderer was that he was clearly innocent of the original crime he went to prison for. He then gets released, and I would imagine receives a very fat cheque from the govt. Then shortly after he commits a murder that he is seemingly guilty of, and goes back to jail.

The thing is, having watched many things like this even when people are proven innocent they sometimes have to admit guilt. No doubt so that they don't get a payout. And this is what concerns me about Making A Murderer..

If he was fitted up? then they did a bloody good job of it. If not? then he is probably the dumbest person in history.
He got $400k as a settlement, then spent all that on lawyers defending himself from the murder charge.
By all accounts he wasn't a very nice person before going to prison for the original crime (that he didn't do), and I suspect that spending 18 years in prison for a crime you didn't do, doesn't help make you a better person when you get released...

Oh yeah for sure man. I think once you experience certain very strong emotions that you are never the same.
His expected payout was supposed to be in millions, but they settled for a smaller amount as they were desperate for funds after the murder arrest.

Oddly enough after watching MAM I was suggested quite a few docus about innocents going to jail in the USA. It usually resulted in them having to admit guilt (like The Staircase) so that they couldn't get bugger all from the govt.

Disgusting really. Ruin some one's life, make them spend time with animals in prison and they didn't do anything, then just screw them one more time when you let them out.

I know there is quite a high chance that he "did it" in The Staircase, but the fact is they just didn't have sufficient evidence to charge him and keep him in prison. At which point they offer him two choices. Get fucked or get totally fucked. Obviously he is going to choose to get fucked like.

Stopped watching that type of docu now, as well as the racist ones, as I found myself hating America more each time.

There was enough evidence to charge him and keep him in prison though, so it's not like he was being held for no reason and had to admit guilt just to get out. IIRC he had to admit guilt to get his tag removed and stop being under house arrest.

Again, reading up more on the actual case, and what they left out of the documentary, he absolutely did it. No doubt in my mind ;)

I enjoy these types of show, but it does annoy me that even though I know how biased they are, they still get me on their side. It's only after it finishes and I go read more that I get the "FFS, they did it to me again" reaction.
Just watched “Demetri Martin - Live (at the time)” on Netflix. It’s another stand up comedy special, and if you know him it’s exactly what you’d expect.

If not, give it a try. It’s contains lots of one-liners and similar, but in a laid back fashion. It made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions, probably more in the second half, but still good. I recommend.

He’s also the voice of Ice Bear in We Bare Bears, so he’s automatically cool.

Yes it was.

Love the link. :)
Started watching this last night.

https://www.netflix.com/title/80158844

Not got to the end yet but wow, how amazingly sad :(

IDK if they said so at the start but I think he had BP disorder. He went completely nuts, then cut his own wrist and throat. Funny thing? most of his kids are autistic. 4 out of the 7, IIRC, and one is showing symptoms of BP disorder.
Watched the end last night. Was in floods of tears. Seeing the affects of bipolar (untreated) and autism made me very sad. It's bad enough going through it yourself, but to see so many affected.. Yeah made me very sad indeed.
Finished S1 of GLOW. Took a while to warm up but the second half was amazing.
S2 is better, IMO.
Just started watching Cabins In The Wild, with Dick Strawbridge. A hugely warming and relaxing way to spend an evening or two. Oh and Dragon's Eye FTW.

I am now qualified to concur.
More Glow plugs than a TDi.
Netflix will be available on Sky in November, fully integrated into the EPG as per iPlayer etc... so you'll be able to avoid having to use the travesty of the Netflix clients.
Never had any beef with the Netflix players

Also: Fuck Rupert Murdoch
It's the constant moving stuff around that annoys me, and the random lists of stuff that I have to scroll past to actually find the last thing I was watching.
The fact that, on PS4 at least, you can't stop it from previewing stuff while you're just browsing is pretty fucking annoying.

Oh yeah, that too!

I watch via my Virgin box now, purely because of how annoying the auto play feature on PS4 is.
Just got the noti, Making A Murderer Part 2 launches on 19th October.

Wicked. I had a feeling there would be more to it.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to some shouting at the telly. :P

I still don't 100% believe he did it. *dons tinfoil hat* I think it would be easy enough for the police to get hold of a dead body with all of the overdosing going on. Dump her in a barrel on his property and set it alight. I watched the first one very closely, and I noticed how much the entire township hated him for proving them wrong. Me? I'd have moved away, so fair play for that, he deffo has balls.

As I say though, I still reckon it would be easy for police to fit him up. They do call it "making a murderer" which kinda has a point to it, but I just wonder if it is possible to convert some one incapable of murder into a full blown murderer.

We'll find out I guess :D
He totally did it.
Trooper wrote:

He probably did. But they framed him as well. Belt and braces

I just don't think he did

IDK man. We will see I suppose..

Thing is I have been watching a lot of docus about the overdose epidemic over in the USA and I truly believe finding a corpse would be very easy, if you were that way inclined. It's this new shit they are mixing with heroin.. *Googles* Fentanyl, that's the bugger.

I don't believe that the guy in the staircase was innocent, but even when they did not have evidence they still made sure to ruin his life.

The guy in MAM? he was just an every day guy. And when he got out and got his settlement he did kinda rub it in a little.. I dunno man, I suppose it's just my intuition.

Totally did it

Holy shit
I mean, the police behaved shockingly in lots of ways, but yeah, he almost certainly did it.
Thanks for posting that. I'm off to a wedding today, but will get stuck in as soon as I can. This is one of the first instances where I did not bother to scour the web looking for information on it. I just assumed the docu was being straight.

Still, it's more brain food, so again cheers.
This popped up the other night so I watched it in two sittings.

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger fucking pig than Anders Breivik. Norway are too liberal. His head should be on a stake.
No Better Call Saul tonight :'(

One more season!
Haunting of Hill House: yes. Based on three episodes so far, I’d maybe say it’s a touch trope-heavy but it knows what it’s about. Some fine writing and fine acting is doing a very good job of bringing the Crain family to life. Might be a good counter example to the “Netflix series are too long and should be movies” meme, as there wouldn’t be nearly as much room for the characters to breath.

Doesn’t hurt that it looks fabulous on my new 4K OLED TV, too.
Making a murderer season 2, starts boring but ends well.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
First season I was taken in, then saw everything they left out that convinced me he was guilty. Then Staircase came out and the same thing happened and I vowed never to be taken in again.
Started season 2 looking for the holes... And now I'm convinced again they didn't do it!
Fucking TV documentaries...

Opposite of the first season then. I was gripped up until the big reveal and then four episodes of…nothing?
So did he do it or not then?

I will start watching this tonight.
Better Call Saul was brilliant. Really good ending.
Did the first two episodes of MAM S2 last night and immediately totally hooked. That Kathleen Zellner lady seems pretty smart.

I always thought the blood evidence was a load of crap.
Season 2 of Ozark was good.
I watched ‘Punisher’ recently and was surprised by how much I liked it.

Would put as #2 in my list of Marvel Netflix series (behind JJ series one).

Probably overdid the ‘getting shot and toughing it out’ aesthetic, as all named characters needed 36373638 bullets to kill them, as opposed to 1 bullet for anyone else.

But otherwise tremendous fun and not overly “yay guns” which had worried me going in.

Plus his mate looked like Kenny Omega.
