I reckon they did it on purpose to not have to pay for the song.

Maybe it had a different bumper, or the song started over black screen.

This is the bit that I was concentrating on. I can't see a logical point of the song that would start and make it fit.. Plus, all Nintendo trailers have the Switch indent at the beginning so it would have to fade from black after that. I just can't see it fitting.

I do concede on your others points upon watching it back however... Although, I think this is much better.

I got Mario vs rabbis in the black Friday week thing.

Its quite good.

More or less so than Wind Waker (in your opinion, if you played it) do you think?

I loved the Ocarina - Majora - Wind Waker period of Zelda games. Twilight Sword left me pretty cold though, it just seemed a bit too... I dunno... empty maybe? It was certainly forgettable whereas I still have many fond memories of the aforementioned three.

The first Zelda I played was Link's Awakening on the Gameboy. It was a good, fun introduction.

There’s far fewer Wind Waker references in Breath of the Wild. Maybe a place name or the odd reference to a person but the main references and common areas are Ocarina (by far), Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword (not many references at all, but more than other games). I think, I might be wrong here, that because the lore timeline splits apart into 3 after Ocarina, BoTW is supposed to be on the Descendant/Twilight Princess timeline rather than the Wind Waker one, so Wind Waker doesn’t actually happen in BoTW’s timeline.

Anyway, if you’ve played Ocarina and Twilight Princess you might get a fair bit out of the story and just traversing the land. You’ll still have a good time though.

Edit: or was the question does Wind Waker provide more nostalgia and/or references to Ocarina than BoTW? It’s been ages since I played WW but I can’t remember much. There was Hyrule castle at the end and basically the Hyrule from Ocarina was flooded so there’s a few of references to Ocarina, that might have given people the feels. I dunno.
December games are as follows:-

Wario’s Woods (NES) - A match 3 game over never heard of yet alone seen. Looks alright if you like that sort of thing from 30 years ago.
Ninja Gaiden (NES) - Isn’t there a section on this that prevents you from ever completing it? Just something I heard once.
Adventures of Lolo (NES) - Whut?

I haven't heard this. I thought the only thing stopping you from completing it was that it was rock hard!
Flipgrip arrived. Really nicely made assecoiry
Ace... I can't wait for mine.
I've bought one of these. It will let you use a Gamecube controller and a wired Wii controller on the Switch.

The main reason I've got it is to use the classic NES controller with the NES releases on there.
ah saw that, but doesn't work for my wavebird:(
I still haven't received my flip grip... But that's alright.

Has anyone else played Smash Bros yet? I'm loving it! The amount of characters and things to see and take in is phenomenal.
Couldn’t give a toss about Smash Bros.

Sorry, I meant I’d rather be fisted by Thanos than play Smash Bros.

Doc meet Sat, Sat meet Doc
It's OK... And thought that once too Sat. That was before I realised I was massively wrong and missing out on a brilliant game.

It really is ace.

Earlier on I had a power up that was a Nintendog. The dog then proceeded to take up all of the screen wanting attention from me so I couldn't see the game. It really made me laugh!
I might get it at some point. I loved the Gamecube version, but the Wii version didn't grab me at all and I skipped the Wii U and 3DS versions. I'm not going to rush though as I still haven't started Mario Odyssey yet
I'm so bad at Super Shag Bros.

That does sound ace. Dammit and I do love Nintendogs a lot. Hmmm, I wonder if I should actually play it before I make my mind up.
That's been in both of the previous Smash games.
I've been very much enjoying Bridge Constructor Portal:
https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Ninten ... 42894.html
Never played Bridge Constructor, but I'm getting a nice GlaDOS fix from it.
why the bloomedy bloom can't we use the pro controller on mario party.... thus not allowing us to play a three player game...(army 8bitdo which identifies as a pro)
Remember when everyone moaned at the fact Nintendo were only giving away 3 games per month on their online service? Well.. They've fixed that now.

This month it's two.

Oh Blaster Master. Yeah, er, that. Thing.

Tight fuckers should put SNES games on there, that'd get me interested.
In fairness, Blaster Master is quite a good game.. Just not very well known.
Yeah Blaster Master is great actually.
Is this retroactive? If I add Switch Online now, do I get all the NES games back to the start? (ie. not like PS+ or Xbox Live whatever-its-called.)
Apparently so. Nintendo do a free 7 day trial of the service if you want to have a look at it.

I like games with decent music and the SNES had amazing music. NES music was pretty crap except for those few games that used the additional sound chip thingy in the cart. (Well, the music could be good but the hardware was so weak everything sounded like a big bag of bottoms.)

I remember playing NES games after having got used to the C64 and I was like, 'Holy fuck, why does this thing sound so awful?'

Sound and music are super-important to me in games, and the NES just doesn't make the grade at all.
Do you have any videos to support your view... ;)

The Wii had NES/SNES/N64 games.

They should put Gamecube games on there.
Call me old fashioned but I'm happy enough with my Switch playing Switch games.

I found this one interesting. I love 8-Bit Guy he's ace.

I like the 8-Bit guy!

I think that's the opposite of old fashioned.

Does anyone have an idea of when a release date for Aninal Crossing might be announced? I need to book a babysitter.

Tom Nook's rates are steep but his sitters are heavily vetted, with criminal records as clean as a bell.

My guess is it'll be out in the first half of the year.

Yep. Started the 7 day trial on mini-me's Switch at the weekend and there were loads of NES games ready to play.

Good to know, ta!
Is it worth looking at having a BEEX 'family' ?

(as in we group together and buy a family online pass and get it cheaper)
What I want to know is, when is the Switch release date for Untitled Goose Game going to be announced?

I’d be up for that. I keep toying with getting Rocket League for it and I’d like to get back into Splatoon 2.

Out run is out on the Switch and it's glorious... Not quite as glorious as the 3DS version, but still glorious.
It's just the original arcade version, and the car is wrong. (Guess they can't do licensed Ferrari stuff anymore.)

How much does it cost?

OutRun2 would be interesting.
