I've finished this but I'm not finished with this.
It's not the greatest game in the world (that's The Last Ninja) but it's a pretty bloody excellent awesome one. It's witty, well written, sincere, joyous, heartbreaking, and other, erm, good positive words.
Not only that, whilst the graphics are going for that 8-bit but not really 8-bit style they are filled with personality. And at least it ain't pixel-art, aye? Hmmm? Aye? You know what I'm saying.
And you'll be surprised too. Surprised that one fella did the whole lot including but not limited to the fabulous music. God that music is spot on. Spot. On. Sometimes it hardens back to the 8-bit era. Sometimes it's just good music wafting into your ear holes.
Is it an RPG? Is it a walking simulator? Is it a puzzle game? Is it a bullet hell game? SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH. It's an entirely new type of game. A truly excellent game, cause we ain't had one of those since Shadow of the Collosus.
And what do you do when you've completed it? COMPLETE IT AGAIN MORON. Not only is the writing wonderful but repeated playthroughs have all new text, dialogue and you can play the game differently than how you did finish it with SURPRISING RESULTS. Unless you read about them online or watch them on YouTube. Ok, I've done the YouTube thing just because this game is so fascinating to me. One guy made all this, y'know. In fact the 2nd playthroughs almost throws you into new situations that you can't even get on a single playthrough. Crazy right? And I'll be the first to admit that that is an interesting choice because your game will have to be so interesting to even get anyone to bother. But it succeeds. I want to play again, I want to digest knowledge on it and it's secrets and I'll happily watch YouTube videos of characters in the game just having different conversations because they're so bloody awesome.
But the strangest thing about the game?
This game makes you want to make friends with people.
Weird, right? It's like a Studio Ghibli film because it has that sincere childish innocence about it and the characters that makes you think that the world can be a better place if we just love one another. And for someone like me, that's a big deal. People are weird, right? And scumbags.
Anyway, why in fucks name are you playing games that aren't this game. Play this game. Play it now and then say, yes, Ian, you were right about Undertale it was excellent. But then moan about some small detail because that's what people do. People suck.
Undertale is ace. Play Undertale. Are you playing Undertale yet?
