Everybody's Gone To The Rapture

I've had it on my wishlist for ages, but I'm waiting for it to be a fiver.
Bearing in mind that I loved Dear Esther, I reckon I'd love this too.
It seems pretty Marmite, I might just give it a try.
I think you have to put yourself in the correct frame of mind and give yourself over to it. I started it and stopped pretty sharpish because I thought it would be a quick game to blast through, before I moved onto the next game.

Therefore its sedate pace grew increasingly frustrating and I decided I couldn't be arsed with it. I think if I'd allow myself to just go with the flow then I'd have loved it.

Thanks Findus, that makes sense.
I'd give it a go. It's non-taxing and you can get through it in around five hours (probably less if you know about the run button (R2!)), and it's lovely to look at and listen to.
In fact I did, last night.
I think if it were VR, it'd be awesome because the world design is great, and the slow pace more resembles a correct pace for VR than any typical first person thing.

Everything else though...
Yeah, it's a bunch of arse. Maybe it's because I live in Shropshire so I can see that kinda shit (magic sparkle guffs and world-ending events notwithstanding) just by going outside, I don't know.

I loved Dear Esther. This is meh.
I enjoyed it, like I mentioned elsewhere, just wandering about all over the place and finding all the little story snippets. Very relaxing. And I loved the music.
I genuinely don't think I've noticed the music.

It Is lovely to look at. I am a bit disappointed to hear that there is a linear story per person, I was just wandering about enjoying it, but if I've missed important bits, I'm not sure I can be assessed to replay.

Find the church.
Did Jazzy play play it?

Did Jazzy like it?
I did play it. I think it was just the right pace for me last night. I got stuck at the church though so gave up and went to bed.
£6 in the Steam Sale. Yoink!
I don't think I'd pay for it. I got bored.

I hope you enjoy it obviously. I don't think I have much patience at the moment. :)

Joan's title
I actually got this installed and running last night. It's really pretty, once you turn off the god awful motion blur effect.

I might squeeze an hour's play in tonight. Right up my alley, this
Squeeze in three more hour's play and you'll have finished it.

That's my month's gaming sorted!
If you don't find the run button, it'll take 3 hours and 2 minutes more.

It really, really will.
Loving this. The Church "ending" was haunting

Keep watching.
Finished it! Thoroughly lovely experience. The music was top notch.
Playing through this now. Apologies for the necro bump.

I never even knew it existed. Mostly because at the time it launched I didn't have a PS4. Then a few days ago a guy on a bike forum posts some pics of the "Weasel" BMX which is obviously a Mongoose parody. So I bought it for PC, now that it exists.

At first I started getting a bit frustrated. It's slow, very slow. I also hadn't worked out that the orbs show you where to go, once you are done exploring and feel lost. This helped immensely.

I love it. Spotted Merle Dandridge immediately (well, heard) and then noticed Charlie, Billy Boswell :D I've found it utterly captivating. Most probably because of the timing (playing a game about a supposed virus every one thinks is the flu, quarantine etc) is a bit surreal but the experience has been amazing. After playing Doom Eternal a bit recently it's just what I needed. The visuals are stunning too. In the scene in the caravan park with the rain etc I had to rub my eyes because it looked so realistic. And yeah, when the music kicks in its a real delight.

I think I am on the last chapter now. I have been taking it slow and making sure I find everything I can, so have been doing a chapter per night.

If you haven't played this and decide to (on a PC) then one tip I will give is that the mouse indicator is pretty off putting. At first I was trying to copy the pattern below, figuring it to be like some sort of hack sequence like lock picking in FO games. It's not. You should ignore the pointer and just tune it in until it becomes smallest, then hold it there.

Stunning "game". Not sure I would call it that, it's more of an experience.
I might have another "run" through this. All through my first go I was waiting for a jump scare or something horrible, especially when going upstairs in the houses. I reckon it'd be quite nice now I know there are no surprises.

I'll check if there's a speed mod for it though
The only annoyance I've had with the speed is when it deliberately slows you down. I would imagine it's to stop you finding everything too quickly.

I was shocked when Alyx got a bit ratty lol. I'm so used to her being Alyx that I expected her to be continually cheerful.

I'll push on tonight.

There's a run button.
haha I thought you guys were joking :D

I will have to dig into the PC controls for that. I did wander off into a field the other night and was pissed I had to backtrack.

There's a run button.

That takes you from Captain Tom Moore on his walker to Prince Philip going for his midnight piss!
hahahaha yeah I wasn't terribly impressed, but it was faster :D

Just completed it. What a wonderful experience. The music at the end is astounding too, really gave me goose bumps :)
A new "game" coming from the same designer...

Edited: Fixed it
