I turned off all game chat a long time ago. The benefits did not outweigh the costs at all.

But that one time we did that really funny thing that I can't remember what it was...

Oh yeah, back when I played with friends it was very funny. But playing solely with randoms, no

I can't remember either
I've never done any kind of online multiplayer in my life. Now that I've got a PS+ sub, is there any kind of free/cheap game I can try out just to experience all the terrible online chat that people talk about? I kind of want to see how horrible it is, just for fun.
Titanfall 2, Destiny, Rocket League, any old CoD
Destiny kind of appeals to me, is there still a playerbase? If they're all terrible cunts to the noobs that would be a bonus.

Dunno, I expect so, even with Destiny 2 being released.
In my experience, there’s barely anyone talking in multiplayer games anymore. There’s the odd one or someone who has left his mic on but the chatty nonsense that prevailed back when the Xbox 360 proliferated online chat to the masses is mostly gone. Even in games like Rainbow Six: Siege singletons don’t chat. I imagine most people who want to speak with each other in teams or whatever set up their own private chat.

So whilst you’ve got PSN I’d explore some competitive multiplayer if I were you. There’s probably a few games with online multiplayer that you’ve already got that you could give a whirl. TLOU, if you’ve still got it, is a reet good blast. I’ll have a look at your trophy list and see if there’s any multiplayer games that I’ve enjoyed and might recommend.
Facking hell you’ve got 3 Plats.

You sad cunt. ;)

List: Uncharted 4 - definitely give that a whirl. The multiplayer is lots of fun in short bursts.
Rocket League - natch.

That’s about it from your played games!

Whatever platinums I've got must be from hilariously easy stuff like Telltale games and whatnot as I never go out of my way for that stuff. Uncharted 4 I don't own any more, whenever I finish a game it gets sold on so literally nothing in my trophy list is still in my house. And Rocket League I never owned; I signed in to play it at myps house once so it's added to my profile but I've never actually had a copy. I'll probably pick it up on the PC at some point.
Rocket League seems to be getting stingier and stingier with its drops lately. I'd read that drops only occur in the first ten hours of gameplay in a week, but even so, during those hours, I don't seem to get much at all; certainly not like when I was first playing it where it seemed like a drop every game. Instead, as you can see, I'm accumulating crates instead -

It would be nice if you could get the occasional key in-game without spending money on them.. oh well.
I turned loot crates off.
I've ended up doing the same too.

Also, I'm not sure if a lot of people bought the game on Black Friday or something, but there seem to be a lot more rookies online at the moment; players who can barely hit a ball. It's making for some rather unpredictable games, where you haven't got a clue where the ball is going to go and what your teammates going to do next.
That sounds like every game I play to be honest.

Might be time to take advantage of some noobs. I haven't played in a while!
Hopefully they'll be on the other team or you'll end up doing all the work yourself :D

It's ok as long as the other team are inept too. You can get loads of points. I tend to play doubles anyway.

destiny 2 seems to have a demo version now, so that should be filled with idiots for you to enjoy..
Had a few games of the Switch version tonight. It's pretty good, as you'd expect, and it's good to see that the AI has been beefed up. 'All-Star' difficulty on the PC is pretty weak once you've had some practise, but on the Switch, I'm losing more games than I'm winning, so at least there'll be a challenge there. Haven't ventured online yet as it wants me to download an update and I'm not waiting the 30+ minutes for that.

The small fonts on these games don't half make me feel old as I squint at them though.

is it worth buying for cross play if you have the ps4 version you think?

That update btw apparently beefs up the performance

and don't buy the boxed version

I don't see why not, although I've yet to play any game online with the Switch yet so it'll be interesting to see how smooth the process it.

I wondered if the digital triggers on the Switch controller might be a problem, but it seems fine. I'm guessing the better players would notice a difference though.
Another reason not to buy the boxed Switch version - the download version is £11.28 at the moment.
Yeah i saw that. That might mean i’ll buy it. Still. Does t offert anything except a mario car the ps4 one does ‘nt? (Portable isn’t easy for a game that relies
That
Much on online. )

I've unlocked a Samus car body so far. It was a little odd playing my first game online last night and someone was in a Mario car that has the old Mario jumping sound every time the car jumped.

Also odd that I'm unlocking something after every game, even on local season mode. On the PC version, I never unlock anything at all in season mode, but I'm wondering now if it's because I'm at Veteran level on PC and Rookie on the Switch and maybe it just throws unlockables at you only at the lower levels.
The only thing I've really noticed so far with the Switch version is that some of the ground textures sometimes appear shortly after the game starts, which isn't a big deal to me. I'm sure there compromises in there that others would spot more readily, but with my crappy eyesight, it's more than good enough for me and it's nice to play a version lounging on the sofa instead of being at my PC.
Do we have enough players to make a tournament with the new update? https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018 ... this-april

Ha. Bet the blue redesign was farmed out to some stinking creative shop in Paris.

Incidentally, I really dislike the new Eurogamer design, it's hard to find anything.

I usually dislike reacctionary "dislikers". But in this case they're right. New eurogamer looks bad. But the comment section looks prettier.
I've seen quite a few people on Twitter saying they don't like the new site.

I remember people saying that last time too. And about the BBC, and any website really. In a month's time they won't remember what the old one looked like.
An odd bug in Rocket League at the moment has led to some of the toppers looking a little oversized. My normally subtle and understated get-up looks all silly now

Ah you installed the Davpaz mod.
The new update has downloaded, didn't check it out yet..

so.. a beer tournament?
(only now i see my mac autocorrects beex to beer)

and a i made a big hat screen shot too.. was it a bug or an april fools joke?
Since i have playstation, my son used that to play online on his own account.. .recently rocket league has started complaining about it... after the update it seem corrected, but now it says; you need a playstation plus account' to him... (to play doubles together at least) ... any ideas?
I'm still playing quite a lot of Rocket League, but nearly always offline in Season mode now. Although I've played a fair chunk of online play in the past, I've found that even playing one or two games online now makes me really anxious and sometimes I regret start a game even before it's kicked off. Odd that my anxiety would affect me in this way, but I think it might just be the general unknown of playing online - I like predictability.

Offline could do with an extra skill level or two adding though; I'm only an average player, but if I play a season on All-Star level, I'll lose maybe just once or two in a 30+ game season and even then it's usually down to crappy teammate AI rather than being outplayed.
Yeah, suddenly you start to beat allstar easilly , when at first it seemed so good..

Most of the time i spent on rocket league is 2v2, with my son as team mate, he's better than me now, but giving an assist to let him score and getting a high five makes me very happy, and during the week when he is at his mum's it's a great way to keep contact ..
Doubles definitely feels like the purest Rocket League experience. Solo is lacking and 3 or 4 on each team is too chaotic and you get in each others way.

I still play on both PS4 and PC a fair bit.

I'm gold rank in most playlists now. I went up to platinum for a while in standard but was totally out of my depth.
Looking at my stats, I'm not sure if they include offline play or not. The numbers seem a bit high for online-only, but I guess I did used to play it quite a bit.
1.5 is out. There are clubs now so I've created the obligatory Turquoise Beex one. Also they've changed how the progression works so I've gone from halfway up level 49 to…level 58 somehow. Bit of an anticlimax.

I would be up for some Beex Rocket League if anyone else fancies it. I'm often on PS4 or PC playing it.
And that’s why we ain’t on Dead by daylight...
