I was overly touchy there, my apologies.
$3.1bn wiped off the value of EA following the backlash to their implementation of this game.

Given that Lucasfilm only cost Disney $4bn in total, that’s some good going.

Says that whilst they expect the 10$ drop in share price will influence thinking in EA it won't be immediate as the share price is still 25$ higher than 12 months ago.
A fine, very well considered review here.

Just finished the single player campaigns. They were done really well.

They multiplayer, just seems how quick i can die :)
It's probably a bit too late to save the game unfortunately, but EA/DICE have basically ripped Battlefront 2's progression system to pieces and started again.

Quote:
EA DICE appears to be going the whole hog: ability-giving Star Cards, and any other item which affects gameplay, are being pulled out of Crates (the game's loot boxes) for good. You will unlock and upgrade Star Cards using Skill Points earned by levelling up classes, heroes or ships.

Crates will only contain cosmetic items, like emotes and victory poses, and nothing that affects gameplay - and you will not be able to buy them. Crates will be earned through a combination of daily log-ins and completing challenges and milestones.

Also spanked by the bottom line. Didn't meet their sales target.
I’ve started playing this.

I clicked on the button that said Campaign. It only took 4 more sub menus to find Actually Start The Campaign Now.

Then it started with a stealth mission.

This ain’t going well at all.
And her helmet is too big for her head. Don’t they have different sizes?
It’s got a weapon called, no word of a fucking lie, BLURRG.
Fuck is going here, this is dreadful!?
So I was rushing about PEW PEW PEW and jumping around PEW PEW and killing the Rebs PEW PEW PEW PEW then I notice I didn’t need to do any of that. FYI: this is the hardest difficulty mode.

It’s great!
EIGHT fucking button presses to just continue the campaign from the start menu.

It’s exercise!

It’s sick!
I enjoyed this campaign but then I think that's because I don't like hard games.
I think the game engine is badass, it looks great (although a little static a motionless), it’s silky smooth at 60 fps, the space battles looked fantastic and I quite like some of the characters too. Del is instantly likeable and I thought his conversation with Luke was reasonably well done.

But the game is just so by the numbers. Luke plays like dogshit, I can’t understand the card system in the main game, the enemy AI awful; soldiers jerk about in the scenery, stand still, bob up and down like idiots, your companions barely shoot anything and just stand next to enemies as they miss shooting each other from 5 feet, mission are just boring; defend such and such for 3 minutes, then again and then again; defend a guy while he’s “hacking” (urgh) and so on and so on. Forced walking sections, uncanny faces, stealth, holding square, holding square, holding square.

Frankly I’m going to bump it down to easy, smash through it and pretend it’s a nice looking but vacuous Saturday morning CG cartoon.
Things I hate about games: playable dream sequences.

Things I hate about storytelling: someone talking about their future. Oh they’re dead now. Whoopsie.

Definitely this. Easily the worst part of every far cry game. Oooh I'm on drugs, isn't this trippy. No it's just shit.
I’m done with the main story and unlocked the extended epilogue. I’m reet bored of this now. This must be how Hearty felt playing TLOU2.

There’s some truly awful characters seeping in; what was that guys name again? Palindrome or something? Fuck was up with that guy. Mind you, the VAs for the people you know are good. I’d swear that was actually Mark Hamill & Harrison Ford even if it isn’t.

Still, I’m going to give this an extra point at the end because C3-P0 isn’t in it.

Otto?
The thing that put me off: the guns feel terrible.

Normally I agree, but the playable dream sequence in Max Payne was great.

I liked Michael's acid trip in GTAV too.
The Max Payne dream where you had to balance on the annoying lines a black void while a baby endlessly cries in the background!?
