Star Wars Battlefront

Fucking hilariously some DLC for this has been released today.
Oh, pre-order only. Everyone else can get it on 8 December. Presumably for a small fee.
Nope, it's free for everyone.
Liking the Jakku DLC. The new gamemode is entertaining.

As enjoyable as it is, it still feels a little like this is a missed opportunity.

GTA5, fool.
I don't own it, dude. Mad Max looks good though.

'tis want to buy it from me?
Some footage from the RTS Star Wars game has leaked.

I appear to be playing "Advanced Run A Bit And Then Die" simulator.

This is why me and my friends stopped playing it. Everyone else was better than us (natch)
We're mostly playing the co op stuff it's quite well done. Local co op! Whooooo?!

I tried co-op. But as my partner was my four year old son, it was a little too tricky.
I'm getting better at it now I've dropped into 6v6 rather than 20v20.
I've got back into this and shelled out for the season pass. It's ace.

It's pretty good value now that the core game is virtually free to play.
Ha. Well, I paid full price on launch.
Battlefront II trailer

November 11th, release date fans.

Dark side campaign, too!
Yay! I had thought from the trailer that it must have a campaign - about frickin' time.
The first game would have been brilliant if it had a campaign. I welcome this change.

The first game was superb even without it. They got the look and feel of the Star Wars universe spot on, and it was great to pick up and play for an hour or two. For me it had just the right level of complexity, without the need to spend days learning everything inside and out (Battlefield) to feel like you were getting the most from it, and neither did it have the manic hyperactivity of recent CODs.

A decent story mode will be a huge plus but I'd have bought it anyway.
The problem I had with the first one was that everyone else was better at it than me. It was very frustrating trying to play online when all I did was continually die.

But of course, that wasn't technically a problem with the game. ;)
Yeah, playing online shooters if you don't usually play them is absolutely fucking shite.

I'll pick this up when it's cheap, play through the campaign one weekend then stick it on ebay.
Ooooooh yes.

Totally stoked it has a proper SP campaign in it. And the MP is class based, and the weapons are customisable...
This is a great time waste for an hour. Lovely graphics, absolutely great sound effects and yakity yak and it's simple and easy enough to be disposable fun. But that's it. If you preordered this, purchased the season pass and paid, like, £100 for all the content, then you must be feeling pretty ripped off in retrospect.

But for the £3.49 I paid for it, it's the steal of the century! It's groovy fun and when I'm bored I'll probably just boot it up because it's reet plenty fun for a bit.
I bought this for 4 quid or whatever the other night. Would be good to get a Bezzie Session going, even if I have no clue WTF is going on.
I'll be up for that. I'm on well over 100 hours played so I'm quite happy with my investment even at full price.
£3.99!

Are we all playing this then now?
You're worse than Boris Johnson.
But better than you at video games.
Oh yeah - I should probably turn that off :)

How much!?
Yeesh.

Saw that the new Forza was £79.99 in town yesterday too.
Although... if a AAA title from the early 90's cost £60 on cartridge format, that would be more than £100 in today's money.

Thanks, Obama!
Streetfighter 2 has a lot to answer for.

When-I-wer-a-lad it was Mastertronic or nothing!*

*Tape your mates good stuff.
Wasn't Pit Fighter monstrously expensive? Or am I simply misremembering its general monstrousness?
