Alleged test footage shows how amazing a 'Deadpool' movie would be

There's been talk of Hollywood making a movie out of the comic series Deadpool for a while now, and a couple years ago there was actually some forward progress. An animated clip of test footage was put together to show what the film would look like, and it appears that that footage has now leaked online (though most copies of it have since been removed). The quality may not be great, but the good news is that the eccentric antihero appears to transfer from page to screen quite well, keeping his sharp dialog and tendency to break the fourth wall intact. He also performs quite well in some smartly choreographed fight sequences.

The animation is believed to have been made in 2012 by VFX artist Tim Miller, who worked on Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim movie and was on board to direct Deadpool, according to JoBlo. Ryan Reynolds was reported to be attached to star as Deadpool himself, and it certainly sounds like him in the clip. Adding to its authenticity, The Wrap points out that the footage looks almost exactly like how one of Deadpool's creators, Rob Liefeld, described it during a panel last year.

Update: the Deadpool video has been removed following a copyright notice from Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.
That looks great. Also, the flip is riffing off this quite famous stunt I think:

That looks brilliant..
I would watch that (provided it was like that throughout). The drawing was brill.
I now have that song stuck in my head

I thought that when I saw it.
Where's that stunt from?
I've put it to Curio that we watch Singham at the cottage this year.

Is it as awesome/ridiculous as that all the way through?

Looks it:

The knee-slide gut-punch is epic.
I can't see YouTube clips at work so I'll take your word for it. The other to add obviously would be Endhiran; although what I assume to be the entire finale of it is available on YouTube and could be the only bit worth watching.

Is that the man-robot-snake one?

Yeah it is :D

Deadpool is a bit good isn't he
It's a bit crap though, really.

Why not just call it, "Self indulgent writers who want to be the centre of the plot make all of the other inhabitants of the Marvel Universe into brain dead, weak, imbeciles to make a cheap gag."
Or: "Deadpool is the hardest."

Hardly. He got his ass kicked by several people, only for all of them to mysteriously forget he can regenerate his entire body in (apparently) seconds, just so the writers could put themselves into a comic. The other guys may as well have kneeled down and stuck out their necks for him; just boring that they all had to act so out of character.
It's like, say, if Liam Neeson was in Expendables 4, playing his character from Taken, and he was obviously wearing a bulletproof vest, and he told every cast member he would kill them, and started by shooting a few of them in the head, but instead of reacting in character the rest of the crew started blundering into obvious traps and dying very quickly, until Stallone shoots Neeson in the stomach. Despite seeing the vest, Stallone then turns his back and gets shot. Then Statham shoots Neeson in the chest, turns his back and gets shot. Then Schwarzenegger shoots him in the stomach, walks up to where Neeson is stunned and says he is sad that he had to do that, turns his back and gets shot. Neeson has killed everyone! He says, "I'll be back" for no good reason!

Then a writer comes on screen and shouts, "YOU SEE! WE ARE THE IMPORTANT ONES! THE CHARACTERS YOU LOVE ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO US! WE ARE THE WRITERS! WE ARE OMNIPOTENT! WE CAN KILL EVERYONE IF WE WANT TO!" before masturbating into the camera.

Then they make The Expendables 5 with the same cast like nothing happened.
《Applause》
I thought the writers were a bit self indulgent, yes. Much like Stephen King in the dark tower, in fact.
Or that Red Dwarf special before the last series.
Or: "Deadpool is the hardest."

This was an amazing call. Superb. Good work Curio for grabbing it
I'm taking credit for Singham, on the grounds that I discovered it via an animated GIF of the awesome jeep-roll-grab-guy stunt.
Did you see it first? I first saw it on Neogaf around the time of the PS4 launch (with Kaz's face placed over Singham's and one of the Microsoft execs over the goon.)
Perhaps two years ago or more, but also with a different face for Singham (Sam Jackson). Then I saw it again as part of some compilation on YouTube, and someone asked what it was in the comments (and someone answered, obviously).

I'm sure we watched the trailer for the first time together (although perhaps not physically together).

Spiritually, obv.
[edit]Trailer below has spoilers

Ah, you got me beat then. I saw it at the end of last year, looked it up, forgot about it, saw it again a little while ago, looked it up again, this time remembered it enough to talk to you about the trailer.

Sure, but that was much more recently. It was the night we were at some pub with Andy and Riles and Craster went home at pussy o'clock.
Why the fuck aren't we talking about the Deadpool movie?

Deadpool always delivers. Even on mother's day.

And at the beginning of April you got to hear what Ryan Reynolds thought of it being a PG-13 (with bonus Slater!)

FUCKING DEADPOOL MOVIE SQUEE
You wanted a leaked trailer?

Get this in your eye holes.

Hang on, we're leaking "trailers" these days? Fucks sake.

Anyway, I've heard some people are interested in Deadpool so here's a video of the trailer, recorded on a phone, in someone's pocket, behind at least five rows of people, people who can't sit still, are "those" people who whoop and scream at the TV like morons, filmed at a kooky angle AND is so far away that you've got to wonder whether it was really worth watching for 3 minutes.

Here it is: http://www.dorkly.com/post/75251/youre- ... ol-trailer

I can tell you now, having watched the trailer, that I know nothing about Deadpool but I am interested in this now. I just hope this isn't one of those trailers where all the best throwaway lines are spoiled. In fact, there's a few good lines in here. Watch it/don't watch it either way, it's your life. You'll probably have forgotten about the trailer by the time it's released in 2016.

Please be good, please be good.
If you've not watched the poor quality Comic Con fan filmed trailers then the official one will be here tomorrow

And very Deadpool - lets have a trailer for the trailer :

They have done absolutely everything exactly right for the Deadpool movie so far.

If the movie has the same elan and panache it is going to be a classic.
I laughed, I cried, I did a little wee.

In other news: I watched this trailer and even smiled when he dropped his pipe.
Red Band trailer:

A few moments that are a little too schmaltzy and earnest, but there's a lot good in there too.
He's not gross enough.

Pretty much :this:. I pray to God they don't ruin it by adding in lots of bullshit about his wife and whatnot because seriously, who gives a fuck? That trailer doesn't actually capture the character as well as all the previous stuff has done but I'm assuming it's been cut with an eye on capturing the interest of the mainstream audience as they've pretty much got us already. Which is fair enough, the thing's still got to make money from the normals.
If it's to capture the attention of people who don't already know about Deadpool they should specifically say about his powers:

is he immortal, or does he have super-healing, or what? That would be the hook to get people in, as well as telling the audience that he breaks the fourth wall.
Has it been said if MovieDeadpool is aware of his fictional status?
What if Deadpool is Frank Underwood?
Seems to confirm 4th Wall Breaking too.
As did the first one. Watch it again!
