Forza Horizon 2 - Xbox 360 and Xbox one
And now 4!

Why are you trying to play real games on your typewriter?
For a game like FH4 a console is perfect. Big telly, couch, 5:1 speakers, digital download, just press the button and play. (I'd play the game with a pad on PC anyway, so control wise I'm not losing anything, and I'm perfectly happy playing driving games with a pad.)

The 60FPS mode on XB1X is truly stunning, if you told me it was running on a high-end gaming PC I'd absolutely believe you.

Because I don't have an XBOX.

Ended up playing Destiny 2 for a bit instead. It's very pretty, i've been playing for an hour now and i'm still waiting for the actual game to start.
There isn't one, it's festering shite.
I got it for free from Blizzard, and the first thing it did before the game had even loaded was try to sell me the expansion packs, which was nice. Expected, but at least let me load the game first...

Because he’s a superior gamer, not a console plebeian like Chortily.
It's true, consoles are for the weak of heart and slow of mind.
FH4 via Steam Link is pretty good and is a good middleground between the console and PC gaming modes ;)
I added a couple of tracks from this game to CHOPLEY'S AWESOME PLAYLIST on Spotify.

I really like this one, it's a lovely dancey/trancey female vocal track.

Go on then, how do you get it working through Steam Link? Did you buy the game through Steam?
Asking for a friend: What's the closest equivalent to Forza Horizon on the PS4?
Gran Turismo Sport, I guess.

Not arcadey enough. He’ll want something like The Crew or Driveclub.

Don’t forget the Horizon games are less of a sim than the main Forza games.
Arcadey, yes. Open world preferred. Isn't there a NFS with free roaming? Payback?

No, I used UWPHook to add FH4 to my Steam Library (FH4 is a Universal Windows Platform game and you can't just add a .exe to Steam like you can non-UWP games)

Then I installed VirtualHere on Steam (which I already had, but it's not free) - this essentially allows controllers plugged into the SteamLink to be "seen" by the host PC as being directly plugged in - required for things outside of Steam itself, I think - or certainly was in the case of FH4 anyway!

The Crew has a shrunk down version of the entirety of the USA, not sure you can get any opener world than that!

China maybe? Greenland?
Burnout Paradise is on the PS4, of course.
I thought I’d have a look at 4za Hori4on 4 cause it’s on Game Pass and I fancy a knob around in cars after I’ve played nothing but JRPGs, BRs and shit.

First impressions are that it’s ... SHUT THE FUCK UP, JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP. God the voices are just ear grating, first time on TV, try-hard children’s presenters. I want to run them all over and scrape their corpses 5 miles up a beautiful country road.

But the graphics are fantastic and the countryside is gorgeous. If you’d told me this was next-gen, I’d believe you.

The first 5 races or so have been pretty dull so far though, but with the graphics, the banging ass choons and the sound of my Ford Focus brumming about it’s kinda got me interested to play some more.

I’ve got to say though, the voiceover woman being able to say your name is pretty special (assuming your name is on the big list at the beginning of the game) but that is immediately ruined by everyone else referring to you as “it’s you” “hey you” or, even worse, if you choose a female character some guy refers to you as “him” in the first shunt mission about 20 minutes in.

Still, if the fucking thing would like me just race and drive my car about I’m sure I’d be having a betterer time but, no, we’ve got to have a story mode in here and obtain “influence” because social media and bollocks I’d couldn’t give a rats arse about. It’s like Need for Speed Underground all over again but with better graphics.
I fucking love Fort-za Corazon Quattro. Put many hours into it. Not as many as Dimmers though
I reckon whatever PS5 racing game comes out after this is going to blow away the next Xbox games, thanks to the Duelsense. I’m playing Fo4za 4izon 4 and I’m not getting enough feedback on my triggers. The rumble just isn’t providing me enough feedback to tell me when my tyres are slipping or I’m braking too hard or not enough. I’m not feeling enough through the triggers (bearing in mind the Xbox ones have independent rumble triggers) that informs me when I’m fucking up and I’m having to rely on the sounds from the screen or, more accurately, the visual cues that my car is all over the place. I’m playing almost exclusively just by looking at the blue line on the road which isn’t very much fun at all so far.

I’m guessing from the PS5 games I’ve played that the haptic feedback and squeezy triggers will improve my experience of car games ten fold when, i don’t know, Grab Turisimo or whatever comes out, and it’ll feel more like driving an actual car as I’ll be able to feel my way to victory rather than just focussing on staring at a blue line on the road and miss all the foliage and blue skies.
Seems sensible. Good for SNES Mario Kart through an emulator too.

Help!

Fop the Youngest wants a racing game in which he can paint his own cars (flames and shit) I thought Forza Motorsport 3 had that functionality but I fired it up and it doesn't (or its hidden online).

Any other racing games that allow such customisation? Ps4 or 360.

Just realised it's Forza Motorsport 4 I have, (thanks to its shit logo I thought it was 3).

Will take a look in Career mode, to see if customization options are in there. Though was hoping for something a bit more pick up and play than a Career Mode, for young master Fop.
4 is particularly annoying in not unlocking the online stuff until you've done enough of the single player.

Ack, well there's no chance of me getting it online. My Xbox live creds expired years ago.
I did misread your plea though - painting cars is part of modding cars and surely that isn't behind the online p(l)aywall...

I both have gamepass and no interest in painting cars though, so I'm not sure I can help with your actual question. Sorry!

Haha, it's an odd plea. I can't see an obvious way to start painting cars from the menu, but user error potential is high here. Thank you for trying to help!
Have painted a car! In career mode! It looks rubbish but he enjoyed it
