Man, I wish I we owned an energy company/companies right now.
Depends what you mean. I know people who were in the "off the shelf energy provider" business.

It's been a thing you do not want any involvement in since the pandemic hit, either as shelf or customer.

She doesn't look very well at all, but we all know the media loves to find the bad angles.
Hooray, my institute of leadership and management training kicked in!
Suella Bravermann, your Butlins Priti Patel tribute act, has quit as Home Secretary.

Good riddance to her, and hopefully to the rest of this administration.

Is she going to be the first of many? Like you said, I really do hope so, Here's to another Christmas Election!
Just seen this from former Lib Dem Leader Tim Farron, which is quite funny, even if he is a bit of a homophobe

ETA: Sky News saying she hasn't resigned!
Ah, now they are saying she might have left over using her personal phone for security stuff

Oh god. She's off to spend more time with her Nigerian prince...
Her resignation letter doesn't pull many punches does it!

Is it the right time to pull out my favourite Frasier quote?

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Abe Lincoln's future looked brighter when he picked up his tickets at the box office!
Theirs is a very inclusive government. They're not going to stop until they've included everyone.
All I learnt from Sim City 2000 was not to cut back on transport.
Tories having another normal one.
This would never have happened under Francis Urquhart.
Cynical me thinks she's deliberately committed a misdemeanour (or says she has) so she can jump ship before everything goes even more tits-up.
Wow. All I can say is wow.

It’s been reported that she had a row with Truss over immigration, and wasn’t happy about plans to allow people in to support economic growth, so was fired. This is just the excuse to go, and then have a hissy fit on the way out.
And no one's mentioned Coffey and Mogg apparently manhandling MPs to vote No in the not-a-confidence vote! And the resultant resignation of the chief whip and her deputy.

:DD
I've just read that Liz Truss did not vote in the Fracking Vote! The one that was initially supposed to be a confidence vote in her!
I wonder what this new Normal Day in this Normal Country will bring.
She really, really doesn't want to be beaten by that lettuce.

I've read some reports suggesting that a very late night message to MPs said it now was. Yep, we've reached crazy ex texting time!
Liz gone, hunt promoted, mogg as chancellor by the end of the day, just to cap off the madness

Grayling. The narrative demands Grayling.
At this rate I’m expecting a dragon rider or two swooping in.

Well
My MP this morning:

He is one of the ones taking part in shitting the bed so he can fucking lie in it, and wallow in the shit consequences of his life decisions, the twat.
Ah yes, that great beacon of political greatness - The Angel Gabriel.
Amusingly, our Tory-led district council voted unanimously against fracking on Monday, which must be leading to fun conversations with our Tory MP this morning who happily voted against a ban.
No wonder it became a swear word on Battlestar Galactica.

Unfortunately when they showed what Parliament might look like if there was a GE and the national vote reflected the latest run of polls, he was one of the few conservatives still elected.

He's never been a minister, I think he's quite happy being an MP and will probably do that until he dies in job in 20+ years time
We've reached the stage where Alexa has a prepared response to the question "Has Liz Truss resigned?".

Superb.
Listening to the Newsnight edition from last night while I get some work done. Ouch. Sunderland not happy. Though there was one young Conservative who said that what the Conservatives are good at is uniting in times of crisis. I thought for a second he was being satirical, but he wasn't. Newsnight certainly rightly calling to account. What has been in the past cautious gentle interviewing of smug Tories repeating mantras of 'what we must do' and 'we need to...' whilst allowing 'both sides' of the argument equal weight no matter how absurd the response is has shifted to a clear straight reporting of 'this is a disaster'.
Also ruh-roh...

Quote:
Beeb: Prime Minister Liz Truss is meeting Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the influential 1922 Committee of backbench MPs, No 10 has confirmed.

No reason has been given for why the meeting is taking place.

The 1922 Committee oversees the election of Conservative leaders.
Statement at 13:30 from Liz Truss!
GE? Resignation? Non Apology? Something Else?

So her tenure was shorter than the entire leadership campaign?! Blimey.

I really hope her successor just goes immediately to Charlie and gets an election. We can't have another two years of the Tories fighting themselves.
Did she outlast the lettuce?
