Creepers are the most fun :(

Getting jumped by a creeper and skellie at the same time is one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. Beteoworld has scared me more than any game I've played for years. :luv:

But yeah, fair enough. We seriously have to do a full-on survival mode one day, though, from scratch, in beteoville. After backing up, obv.

If ever bukkit actually works *faints* we could do multiple world, maybe the same map, one world with mobs, the other without.

Well, not sure if you can do that with just one server, TO GUYS WHO WANT NETHER: YOU WILL LOVE BUKKIT!!!(multiworld let's you have a nether portal that works :DD )

You could always try to run 2 servers at the same time, on diffirent ports, one with mobs enabled other without, (you would probaly need a proper server though)

Oh yeah! Cheers! Naturally, I've replaced it with a piece of string.

Arrows now! Also another big crater at the dock. Oops.

Pro tip: A series of erm, incidents has left a small sheer cliff behind the shelter. There is a narrow stairway up if you jump about a bit. It actually works out as a quite effective defence - you leap up to the top, and spiders and skellies get stuck down there. I've left a little sand on the sea-facing side of the house - climb up to the top and you can drop sand on any nasties below, killing them safely :D

Eep. All of the arrows have gone. Huntin' time!

Oh, by the way, if you find a path or corridor blocked with lots of random ... blocks, chances are good that it was me retreating ina panic and dropping whatever I could while trying to find some way to fight off a spider/greenie.

Is there a way to make narrow (preferably) wooden pillars? I can get one block ones by using a single fence (accidentally discovering how to make stuff is great), but I can't build them higher than that. Like stilts.

Also, the animals seem to have disappeared. Do they run out?

Shit! I'm stuck in my mine, cornered by a greenie, with no weapons. :'(

All my lovely work is nearby! I will have to find a way to trick him.

Edit: Welp, that went about as well as you'd expect. Bastard.

Yeah I couldn't find any animals but I did find a zombie and 4 creepers in my cave/house.... I spent the next day rebuilding it.

Also I made some changes to the safeish house.... I think ideally though it should be built off the ground some more... but it'll do for the moment.

I saw the extension. Cheers! I like the way it overhangs a little. If I can find a way to make stilts I might add them for effect :)

Question: What's the situation with backups? I assume there's a copy of everything from before this month kept safe for prosperity, but if I start adding stuff now, how safe will it be?

I like the excitement/pantwetting terror of the greenie ambushes, but I also like the shape my mine of lurking horror is taking, so would like to know how far I should go to strike a balance.

I've spent a bit of time wandering around beexworld as a SP map on peaceful (no hostiles) and I understand how SA feels. I feel like the Omega Man, wandering around a ruined city. Everywhere there are chests to loot with things that didn't seem useful in MP (such as coal and iron) but I now have to carefully preserve. The reckless abandon of the millions of torches is quite stunning and finding a diamond pick is like winning the lottery.

I've had a chance to look at stuff that I never saw when slaving on the Mega Lith. It's ace.

I am torn between working on a handful of projects (including one that will need you lot to be involved at the end), and knowing how much of my life that will suck up for the next couple of weeks.

TORN.

Cookie! How did you make those pillars the shelters are resting on?

Edit: Ha! The combination of a deep crater and very narrow sea wall has created a great emrgency greenie trap. In your face, kamikaze brains!

Re-edit: That is, until another one creeps up behind you while you're admiring your handiwork. Oh dear, I really should stay underground.

Re-re-edit: And then, while trying to stop the flood caused by that, you're swept down into the crater with the second one, whose explosion opens a hole that happened to be covering up a narrow pit to the centre of the earth. :'(

I fucking love this game.

Simple! Place a few block in a pillar, place a fence on top, remove the block under the fence, place a block, and so on!

Yay animals! It occurred to me the other night that in minecraft, you're actually the villain. Think about it - you're turning up on this unspoiled wonderland, and immediately start defiling the land and murdering all the harmless animals. The skeletons and that are actually the heroes, risking their lives (and the greenies are happy to GIVE theirs) to defend the land.

Yes, I have been having trouble sleeping. Shaddap.

There seems to be some item glitching. I lost a pile of charcoal earlier, now some flint.

Don't tell me that! It'll be no fun if I can just nick all the best equipment from the off. I've uncovered a load of stuff anyway, but I'm leaving it because my mine isn't finished yet. :)

And about two thousand monsters.

I've been attacked by no fewer than ELEVEN greenies in the space of as many minutes. I wouldn't mind, but it's all the same spot, and with the terrible lag I'm getting, even when they don't surprise me, there's nothing I can do. Half my mine is in ruins already, and it's impossible to repair when they hit an ore cluster >:|

This is just irritating now. I like having the occasional one in, but it's impossible to even repair the damage they do before another four show up. Combined with the lag it's close to unplayable :(

Reet, me furnace am set up. It's set in the earth under the stone road inland from the glass shack by the dock (phew). Behind the mobile, a bit.

Help yourselves to building supplies (try not to completely empty them if possible) from the marked room.

If you need a specific material or item, there's a wall in the workshop where you can place an order, and I and anyone else who feels like joining will try to get it for you. Feel free to deposit materials, but please don't use the items in the workshop unless you're collecting an order.

WE SHALL CIVILISE THIS LAND.

Oh, and steer clear of AEI mine. Way too dangerous. I'm going to tool up and greenie-proof it this weekend. I lost count after the fourteenth one attacked.

Oh yeah, Can I invite everyone to go and have a look at Sinister Agent's mine & workshop area? It's down a hole near his shack (behind the giant mobile at the default spawn point). Follow the signs.

By the way, there are wolves now. They appear tame.

As a project, I've set up a server on my home connection. Through the Hamachi VPN (the recommended method for small server usage) it works, but is very slow.

If I try to connect directly from work, it doesn't work as the port is closed at this end. Sigh.
