I'm not sure that would really be true- Joseph has a pretty large range, and he's been nothing like Johnson in anything else I've seen him in. I think he's a good enough actor that it would be easy to disassociate the roles from each other in a very short space of time. I think he'd be a great Doctor; I hope he gets it. |

I've never understood what people have against Nesbitt, I've always thought he was great. I might just be too simple to notice bad acting, of course. Richard. E. Grant is the only person I could think of who would cause me to switch off, as his interpretation of the Doctor is teeth-shatteringly awful. |

But I'd also like to remind all and sundry that, according to "Doctor Who Magazine" editor Clayton Hickman, Bill Nighy was Russell T Davies' favourite for the role back in 2005. I think I'd make an awesome doctor. Who wouldn't want a slightly overweight non-actor that can't string a sentence together without stuttering? I'd make the show all hip and REAL. I watched the morning interview with Tennant where he said, totally off-the-wall speculation that 'hey, sure, maybe a female doctor, who knows', and then when one of the presenters said 'Billie Piper?' he was like 'Anything is possible with this show!', again, in a totally shrugging 'fuck knows!' kind of way. Next thing you know I'm reading in all kinds of media the next that 'Piper tipped to be female doctor' based on these totally non-binding meaningless statements. The papers can just fuck off with their stupid reporting. How the FUCK would they cast Piper as the doctor? The very idea is stupid in the extreme. Ugh, gnngnfgf, etc. I don't actually watch Dr Who, or give two shits about it, but the conclusions made from a few random words from Tennant are just lunacy. |
