Snowy commute through Bradford this morning. Roads were fine but lots of queues for some reason.

PC gone mad, who wouldn't want to commute via trampoline?

Looking at the other 9 on the list, it was actually the most sensible...

And the only one that wasn't completely fucking boring. Stop making my city more boring!

Stop snowing!
User avatar
Start snowing! But just enough that I can still get home, but also just enough that I need to leave early.

No fucking snow here at all since about 10 minutes of it fell yesterday afternoon.

PAIN. IN. THE. ARSE.

I want to take the M3 to a deserted snow-covered car park and give it some welly.

Southerners. Tsk.

The temperature of the roads mean that I don't really need snow to lob the damned Jag about.

What I do need is a warning to come up when I turn off the traction control that says "HAHA WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE SON DO YOU WANT TO FUCKING DIE?!".

How I initially read that.

In fairness, I did wear hiking boots today and have to push 2 inches of snow from the car. MrsA struggled to remove the snow from the roof of big car, her being 5 feet tall and the roof being almost 6 feet up.

Vrooom! Subaru snow power!

2 whole inches?!

Like she had to count that high.

Nothing so good in Bromsgrove. We got a little bit yesterday, then rain today.

Heh. I saw a fair few lifted discoveries with massive tyres on today. I expect they were helping people as the 4x4 rescue club is near work. The man over the road was clearing his drive at 5 am this morning, and at 4pm. I parked on the bigger road and walked for 45 seconds.

Come to my party. You're only about 30 mins away. :)

And bring a foot.

But only the ones attached to the end of your legs. :)

Just heard that my favourite pub in Oxford, the Far from the Madding Crowd, is to close on Saturday.
Been drinking there for 13 years.

Mustn't get too sentimental, but I have a lot of great memories connected to that place, and I think it'll take me a while before I find somewhere else that feels like 'home'.

Perhaps it's a sign? Maybe I should start thinking about leaving Oxford. Or perhaps I just need to cut my drinking.

That's impressive - I can barely drink for six hours these days.
User avatar
you can barely drink for 6 minutes, if you count falling asleep as a break.

Found a lovely house. It's in a village with 1mbit "broadband" and no prospects of anything more in the foreseeable future :(

Just club together with the rest of the village and do it yourself. It's been done before.
User avatar
the rest of the village have never heard of broadband, they think it is a new fangled type of music.

Yeah, I guess if you want fast internet in this country, don't live in a rural area. It's up to you what is most important.

It's hardly a rural area, it's a village 2 miles outside bedford :D

However, the vendor has said he got 6mbit when was living there, and infinity has just been installed, which is very different to what all the online checks are saying. I'm going to try and get the phone number so I can confirm myself.
User avatar
Clapham? Oakley, maybe?

If they have gone to infinity that's a vast improvement.

How much do you use? I'm guessing there's no point trying to go mobile.

Sure, but my flat postcode is in an infinity area, but my actual flat isn't. The only way to be sure is with the phone number.

So, The Sun had a "mammery lapse" and Page 3 is back.

There's a big picture of a (very) pretty lady showing off her boobs, and the text says "Further to recent reports in all other media outlets, we would like to clarify that this is Page 3 and this is a picture of Nicole, 22, from Bournemouth. We would like to apologise on behalf of the print and broadcast journalists who have spent the last two days talking and writing about us."

I bet they're loving it.

It was slightly amusing seeing them having to report this on the BBC, almost literally through gritted teeth.
User avatar
Interesting. Rumours are that they tried to let it die quietly, but when such a fuss was made about it (and what the 'next' steps were), they just thought fuck it and brought it back. Top trolling.

It's pretty awful, but it's not the worst thing about the Sun. If they were just going to replace bare breasts with covered breasts it was hardly a feminist win anyway. Unless you're some kind of puritan.
User avatar
*resumes boycott*

Do male feminists watch porn?

We had a big customer event at work today, with lots of guests so much of my day was spent running a "customer in a reasonably priced car" competition on the Top Gear test track in Gran Turismo 5 with a nice racing seat and logitech G25.

There are worse ways to earn a living.
