I didn't find that it got noticeably better. I think I've watched the first four now?

I still quite like it, though.

I don't think it's worth a New Zealand TV thread, so this can go in here with the rest of the downloads.

Wellington Paranormal is written by Taika Waititi and is great fun. Only six short episodes, so you can polish it off in an evening.

Probably better described as 'a spin-off from What We Do In The Shadows'.

ETA: in fact does it actually have any characters from Hunt for the Wilderpeople? It's got an actor in common that I can see, but no characters.

Aye, that's the one. I'd had a few when I wrote that.

Finally caught up with Supernatural last night, its still pretty good @13 seasons with S14 commissioned.

Like any show running this long, its had its not so good seasons but I still enjoy it.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
They have managed at the end of S13 to bring back characters (played by the same actors) that were killed off seasons ago, the plot line to facilitate this is the old alternate universe\rift chestnut

Also ended with Dean as the sword of the Angel Micheal (from the other universe) Dean killed him off about 6 seasons or more ago in the day to day earth!

I am loving this season. And yes, Starr is note-perfect, as is Tulip.

It always seemed like it better suited a TV format.

A couple of episodes in and Jack Ryan is pretty good (Amazon Prime). It has Bunk in which helps.

I thought Dreamland has been the best one for a long while.

I do wish they could be spys again, though.

I did end up watching a few more episodes of Dreamland, possibly all of them, but I can't remember any of it. I was rather hoping they'd be spies again in the latest series, but I didn't even manage a full episode of Danger Island.

I like that they're trying new things, but I don't think any of the newer seasons have been as good as when they were telling stories in the original 'timeline'. I assume though that the reason they're going down this route is because they're struggling to keep up the quality within the original constraints and--given that I'd rather have Archer than no Archer--I'm happy with the new stuff.

Sons of Anarchy spin-off show starts Wednesday called Mayans M.C.

Always liked Sons of Anarchy although the body count and plot got a bit mad in the last couple of seasons!

It was crazily bad/good. Keen to see what they do with the new stuff.

Started watching Gotham last night, really good first couple of episodes, does it stay good?

Gotham is very up and down. At its best when it's embracing the pulpier aspects of the source material, and cooking up fresh takes on the lore. The two main characters (Gordon and Young Bruce) are perhaps the weakest links, but even they have their moments.

I'd recommend it overall.

Ozark season 2 is out on Netflix. I'm going to give it a shot.

Gotham pretends it wants to be a proper show, then realises it doesn't know how to and settles for being a shitty jumped-up soap opera.

Whatever Disenchantment thought it was doing with fantasy, Final Space properly did with science fiction. Joyous nonsense.

I would say no. There's a reasonable amount of swearing, and quite a bit of gore. Depends on the kid though, of course, but I wouldn't let mine anywhere near it.

Finished Jack Ryan last week. Wholeheartedly agree. Enjoyed it.

Was an extremely competent, if fairly straightforward, show. Much like Jack Ryan himself.

And Jim from the Office convinced me by the end.

Really enjoying Hilda on Netflix. Lovely cartoon featuring various monsters. Chilled enough for younger kids too.*

Future Space is good too, although not for kids really.

*Ooops it's UK / Canada :D

Have watched the first two episodes of Maniac.

It’s very, very similar to Legion at this point, but with Jonah Hill and the always lovely Emma Stone.

I have heard good things about the rest of the series, and it’s very entertaining so far. Some excellent world building.
