"Christ, this is a shitstorm!"

Or, more sensibly, blame it on something like "current fashions".

Can we see it?

You wouldn't see much - visually it looks fine. The code is just a mess. It's the same one that inspired this tweet:

I don't want them to think "oh new dev is trying to take us for a ride saying it's shit" but I also don't want to spend 4x the time doing everything because it's a hot mess, because that isn't cost effective and makes me look bad. Caught between a rock and a hard place. I may have used the words "interestingly coded" in my last email.

Friend at work lended me his copy of Yakuza 0.

First of the Yakuza games I've played and it's absolutely bonkers. Anyone else played it?

HUGE Bonus points for having playable arcades within the game that include Space Harrier :luv: , Outrun and (I've not found them yet) Super Hang On & Fantasy Zone.

I've played demos of various of them and always had a good time but never got round to picking up any of the full games.

When you try and print The Wasp Factory, and it churns out Consider Phlebas.

What pisses me off about printing is tryng to print photographs the right size to fit off-the-shelf photo frames. Not that I do it a lot, but when I do it drives me bonkers. I have to print black and white rest prints on plain paper to get the sizes right before wasting coloured ink on photo paper.

I used to have this problem until I started using an old Microsoft digital imaging program. Since then, it'll print exactly as I want it which is very useful when I'm printing off game covers!

As a bit of fun I've calculated how many miles I've driven in company vehicles since joining my current employer in Jan 2013 and it comes to 83256 miles, which is equivalent to 3.34348 times around the Earth.

What's that in blue whales? Or double decker busses parked end to end?

So I had an 'interesting' moment at the weekend. I was down in London for a stag/hen do and staying at a Travelodge in Canary Wharf. I get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night and, just as I'm sleepy-drunk realising that the door I've walked through was the door to the room and not that of the toilet, I hear the sickening clunk of it locking shut behind me. The trek down to reception to get a new room key was made much more interesting by the fact that I was totally naked. Fuck sake.

Yeah, the lesson learned here is to always pack sleepwear of some kind. I've done exactly this before years ago but was wearing pyjamas so it was nothing more than a minor inconvenience. This weekend's events were a whole other level.
