Top tip, if you're doing exposition, don't make it obvious you're reading from a card.

I'd like Moldova to host, but I don't want a third division Bros tribute band to win for this to happen.

I said 'Croatia', Europe said 'Portugal'. And I feel in no position to dispute this.
Honestly, these people voting on musicality rather than showmanship. Are they really that unshallow?

How do neither the Eurovision judges or the Eurovision voting public understand the point of Eurovision? Giving good songs points? Huh?

Experts of Europe gave the UK 99 points, people of Europe gave us 12 (both out of 432)

2018 Semi-final time! Yay!

I don't normally watch these, preferring to just savour everything raw on the night, but I'm busy on Saturday so this is my only chance to get some proper Euro stuff this year.

Greece: Argh... I really want to like this, but it's not doing it for me. I think the orchestration is wrong. She should be accompanied by a live drummer and one or two other musicians, and let the rhythm and singing carry the song, not the lighting. I'm also not sure her voice has the strength to carry it by herself.

Very pleasant song, but perhaps the chorus needs a little oomph.

Cyprus: In which evil scientists have bred clones of Mel C for backing vocals. Great choreography. Nice flashy effects. As for the song, well, I've had more fire from my trangia. Again, a song suffers by not getting the tempo right, although they might struggle to dance properly were it any faster.
