So the tiger is dead.

But to be honest I think this show would be better with a real tiger surrounded by cgi characters. I'm sure it would have much more gravitas.

Possibly the last one I'll watch, that.

What the hell happened to this then? Is anyone still watching? It’s just ... bad.

The “surprise”... provoked no reaction from me at all. I was just numb and couldn’t believe what they’d turned the show into.

Shit, really? That's a pretty big departure from the comics then.

The weird thing is, after being a complete arsehole that everyone hates he’s really grown as an actor and character. Shame. Well, shame about the whole programme really.

Maybe the series isn’t going to follow the comics anymore but that isn’t a bad thing after this whole “Negan” garbage turned out.

So, 8 episodes and that's the only thing that happened. Seems right on par with the show.

Oh yes, and the tiger.

I've not watched the last 3 or 4 now. Might download them all and watch them over Christmas for a drunken laugh.

Or I might not.

Wouldn't it be more interesting to kill rick and make Carl one of the main characters and make him raise his sister?

I’m so nonplussed about TWD that I’ll happily ruin episodes for myself.

Here’s a sneak review of the 8B opener episode which seems to suggest that...

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Carl won’t actually die of his zombie bite.

If this is true then I’ll be foaming at the mouth that this programme has gone to shit.

I was very zeitgeisty on calling out TWD as a pile of horseshit as early as late 2015.

I think it was just as crap at the backend of 2015/early 2016, as it was when I finally gave up on it.

It got a pass for longer than it deserved because of zombies and Tara.

Hmmm, it wasn’t too bad apart from:

1 x dodgy CGI death
1 x annoying child actor
1 x ridiculous shoot out
1 x protracted death that lasted an episode

So the usual shit then...

Rather than watch episode 3, I began stripping woodchip from the ceiling with a bbq burger slice. It was more entertaining than TWD.

Officially 175% better imagery than TWD has managed since Season 5.

Hey, when I came round to call you never noticed me at all...

You were the first boy at school to get breasts
And Mr Chris said that you were the best
Oh the boys all loved you but I was a mess
I had to watch them trying to get you undressed
We were friends, that was as far as it went
I used to walk you home sometimes but it meant
Oh it meant nothing to you
‘Cause you were so popular

Malia do you recall?
Your house was very small
With woodchip on the wall
When I came around to call
You didn’t notice me at all

And I said let’s all meet up in the year 2000
Won’t it be strange when we’re all fully grown
Be there with £2 by the Asdas down the road
I never knew that you’d get married
I would living down here on my own
On that damp and lonely Thursday years ago.

Oh what are you doing Sunday baby?
Would like to meet Julia Bradburary?
She will even bring her baby
Ooh ooh oh oh ooh ooh ooh
Etc

I’ve watched the finale.

Not terrible. Here’s things that happened for everyone who stopped watching it.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Negan and Ricks camps face off. Unbeknownst to Negan Eugene has sabotaged the bullet manufacturing process and all the Saviours guns backfire.
Sans guns, Rick and company slaughter a few of them until the Saviours give up. They didn’t have any guns anyway.
Rick and Negan face off. Rick cuts Negan’s throat with a piece of glass.
Oh thank god he’s dead.
...
...
...
Negan *chuckle* survives having his throat cut.
...
...
Whut.
...
...
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. He survived. They plan to lock him up forever.
Then everyone goes home with the intentions of building a peaceful community. The war over.
...
...
Oh, and the wimin folk from Oceanside show up at the last minute and throw Molotov cocktails at a small contingent of Saviours that attacked the Hilltop. It last no more than 2 minutes tops. Yup, I’m glad they wasted entire episodes on a bunch of people that had 120 seconds worth of airtime in the final battle. Seriously, their involvement in the story is so little that they could have easily taken out the whole Oceanside plot because it has no consequence at all on the main story.
...
Then there’s a weird sequence with Maggie, Jesus and Daryl where they say Rick was wrong to let Negan live and that they’re going to bide their and eventually make Rick and Michonne pay. It’s a really weird scene and stupid as fuck.

Overall: Meh out of 10. That’s what we were building up to over 2 1/2 seasons and, what, 40 fucking episodes!? Actually scratch that, this programme can get to eating a dick. They just wasted my time. Again.

Yeah, the next episode does another time skip where Judith (you’ll remember her) is, like, 10 years old and wears Rick’s hat and has a massive revolver and a sword.

What if the zombie virus creates a naturally occurring source of formaldehyde in the victim that builds up over time and puts the zombies into a perpetual constant state once the buildup crosses a threshold at around a year after contracting the virus.

Seems the most logical explanation.

But they'd still need energy in some form to function, and they'd dehydrate in summer, and freeze in winter, and then disintegrate into a mush when they thawed and so on.

Anyway, we've done all this to zombied death already in this very thread :hat:

Blood doesn’t freeze until -2 degrees, the average winter temperature in Atlanta Georgia is 2-4 degrees and rarely dips below 0 degrees. Therefore they won’t turn to mush in the winter.

Well that's one of the most cretinous things about them, hanging around in probably the most zombie-friendly part of the entire continent. Just go somewhere cold and build a fucking fire, zombies be fucked then.

It's so annoying how fucking shit this programme went after starting so strongly.

Urgh, stupid internet was telling me that the latter half of season 9 has been amazing, brilliant, one of the best EVAA!!!!1!!1!!!1! blah, blah, blah. I was going to skip it altogether but then even my mate was texting like “I didn’t see that coming blah blah blah”.

So I’m watching it again.

Actually, I started watching it after rewatching 4 episodes of Barry and, boy, does that programme show off some of the failing of TWD when it comes to creating drama.

Anyway, what had I come here to say...oh yeah...

Hearty would be very angry at episode 15 (I haven’t seen the last one yet) because:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Tara gets deadid

Actually

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
A few of them get deadid. 9 of the cast get kidnapped and 3 of them are main-ish characters:

Enid
Tara
Henry (he’s pretty much this 1/2 seasons main character because Carl carked it so he takes his place from the comics).

Anyway, the get kidnapped and all 9 of them have their heads placed on spikes by the Whisperers.

I’m not convinced this half season has been worth watching, despite the Internet proclaiming it Game of Thrones status, because it’s just well past it’s sell-by date. I like that it feels like they’re moving onto one last season and a goodbye though but it needed to do this about 3 or 4 seasons ago. At least it has enough popularity to even have a final season, which is good I suppose for the fans.

They'd better just fucking freeze and then disintegrate into goo when the thaw comes.

Upset about Tara though, she (sometimes) had a decent character arc (depending on who was writing her) and was also very attractive.
