I've just found the word "twat" in an old Amiga Power.

"Terry Wogan is a twat" AP 47

Finally got my work laptop upgraded to Office 2016. The interface on the apps, particularly Outlook, is probably the ugliest thing I've seen since Workbench 1.3.

Read this in The Chive in an article called “People tell their biggest intercourse NO-NO’s ” and can’t stop laughing.

“Back when I was younger I met this girl who was kind of kinky. All prior sexual endeavors were fairly vanilla. One night she busts out the anal beads and has me pop them in while I’m doing her from behind. After a while, she gets close to cumming and asks me to pull them out. I’m like “ok!” and yank on them like I’m pull starting a lawn mower. The sound of an asshole slamming shut 10 times in less than a second is truly incredible. It sounded like someone stepping on bubble wrap. She did not appreciate this.“

Rift min spec:

  • Nvidia 960 or greater (down from Nvidia GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater)
  • Intel i3-6100 / AMD FX4350 or greater (down from Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater)
  • 8GB+ RAM (same)
  • Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output (same)
  • 1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0 (change from 2x USB 3.0 ports)
  • Windows 8 or newer (change from Windows 7 SP1 or newer)

There's a compatibility tool too. I just ran it on mine out of curiosity and mine fails on the graphics card, which wasn't a great surprise, as I only have a GT 730.

Failed on the graphics card too. Is it easy enough to get a new one and then install it yourself if you're a fucking moron, like me? Does it involve any soldering iron sheeeeet?

Didn't you spend big bucks on a new rig not too long ago? What card do you have now?

Swapping a new one is pretty easy for non morons. Unless your case is tight fit and you accidentally buy a huge card. You should show us the inside of your rig. LEDs please.

Near Kent Ridge station. I'm currently sat in Clarke Quay drinking overpriced beer and waiting for a burger.

I am exploring the wonders of Changi. I can't see how you can get bored here - shall I play on the games in the social centre, or the amusement arcade? Go to one of the gardens, or pay and use the swimming pool? Damn, neither cinema is showing something I want to see...

Generally easy, but with potential problems (not enough room, drivers don't install well, motherboard doesn't support the card...

Rubbish because why?

Personally I'd never step foot in one unless I was physically made to (or made via peer pressure at any rate - I'm weak - ended up at strip club for Cras's stag... brrrr), as I think they're exploitative, demeaning and ghastly.

I was in Nottingham on a stag do and we didn't go there for food we went to the place with the Clough statue outside it. After that, we lost contact with the main group after we ended up in Boiler Maker. Using our Fine Minds we went to Flirtz but they weren't there, either, so we did our bit for student debt.didn't go on a tram, either. Some pubs were good, though.

Exploitative how? Maybe exploiting the customers. Sounds like you don't want to allow women their own agency… how patriarchal! ;)

The food is rubbish and the atmosphere is too.

I'm not a massive fan of strip clubs myself, but I am happy for them to exist as long as the workers are paid well and enjoy their work.

Genuine, non piss-takey question, but do you think the same about sex workers?

It's something Ruth and I have had a few conversations about and I'm still not wholly sure where I land on it. instinctive liberal lefty approach is "of course women should be allowed to do this, it's fine, what people decide to do in a private consensual transaction is up to them" but the empirical evidence tends towards the fact that it still ends up being vaguely exploitative if not a mask for illegal people trafficking. She's more liberal on this than me.

IMO, that's more of a discussion around whether sex work should be legalised and regulated. As far as I'm concerned, I'm with the "liberal lefty approach" - if that's what people want to do, and it's all consensual then go for it.

The issues lie where there's no (or coerced) consent, i.e. with the trafficking. Legalisation would go quite a long way to sorting that out, I feel. Although apparently it is still quite a big problem in Amsterdam, so who knows. It would at least give those affected a "proper support channel" though.

That's what I thought, but that's the problem. From what I've read (albeit on the Guardian) it has provided a "legitimate" channel for people trafficking, so has perhaps vaguely reduced the net negative slightly, but not that much. But yes, the basic moral position can't really be anything other than "why the hell shouldn't women or men do what they want in terms of selling their bodies" but then real life doesn't make that easy.

Genuine, non piss-takey question, but do you think the same about sex workers?

Yes I'm fine with it, with some caveats. You could argue that delivering Amazon parcels on a zero-hours contract is more exploitative than doing cam or phone work from home, for example.

You could probably earn more on a cam. Well... not you specifically.
