It does have air con, cooling off now.

I've just had a two mile walk in the glorious sunshine and now I want to be at home in my garden rather than here.

Over the weekend one of our cats protested against us being away overnight by leaving a dead mouse behind the wardrobe. Gave our bedroom a really funky smell until we found it. Bloody animals.

I've had a rotting mouse under the floorboards before. The smell is horrific.

I think it's the same cat that last year somehow managed to leave a dead mouse in the sleeve of a jacket that had been folded and placed under the bed for the summer. It got quite to a quite advanced level of ookiness before I worked out where the stink was coming from.

So I'm on Amazon earlier, and I buy a stainless steel popcorn machine, because who doesn't like popcorn? Exactly. And this one apparently can run on and on without overheating, which would be good for parties.

Anyway, I'm um-ing and ah-ing over going to the local Tesco to get one so I can have popcorn sooner, but I'm lazy, so online wins out.

I go to checkout, and there's a new service called Amazon Prime X, and it reckons it can deliver goods in ten minutes. There's a distribution centre near Bedford and they do sometimes test stuff out, but I'm fairly sure it's bullshit. Still, it's only £2 extra, so I give it a shot.

Nine minutes and fourty seconds later I've decided it was too good to be true, but then:

Knock knock!

Open up the door - it's real! With the non-stop pop pop and stainless steel!

X gonna give it to ya, fuck waiting for you to get it on your own. X gon' deliver to ya!

I'll be honest, I clocked the DMX lyrics but thought they were just a snazzy way for you to conclude your story. It wasn't until Cras's "Oh" comment that I read back and saw how carefully laid it had all been.

In summary, if Cras hadn't commented, I'd have thought Prime X was a real thing and I'd be telling people at work about it and then they'd be thinking me a gullible idiot.

Best DMX song is Tricky, duh. Anyone who played the Tony Hawk game that used it as the soundtrack knows that.

I didn't do this. And what I definitely didn't do was go Googling Amazon Prime X and come across another version of the same story then come back here to post about what an amazing coincidence it is only to realise that I'm an idiot. Nope, didn't happen.

A real idiot might have just started adding random stuff to an amazon basket to see what shipping options were available. Thankfully I definitely didn't do that.

Now you've said that, yes. My local McDonalds closed their doors years ago and got boarded up. When I worked at the council one of my colleagues confirmed that McDs left everything inside as they don't recycle kitchen and restaurant equipment.

It's still there on the high street, boarded up. I'd love to go in.

Forget your fancy workouts, just get to the checkout in IKEA and remember the thing in the showroom that you forgot to pick up.

I reckon I just did 5km at a trot, dodging all the way!
