Channel 5 is doing the Top 50 Movies of the Eighties, and Bill and Ted got to #21.

I'm going to list the ones that come higher and let you know if I agree that they're better than Excellent Adventure.

I came here to tell you all that I've just watched John Wick but I don't feel that I can interrupt Grim... so you'll just have to wait to hear my thoughts on it.

Excellent. Good work Grim...

I thought John Wick was great. I especially liked the bit where he killed all those people.

King Arthur. Have you ever wondered what would have happened if King Arthur was a cockerney geezer? This film will tell you. It's very Guy Ritchie. It's also not terrible.

I watched this for the first time a few weeks back. When it came out I'm sure everyone thought it was great but with 2017's knowledge of Matthew Broderick is it's almost unwatchable. I just wanted to bunch Broderick's' face off for being a cheeky little cunt oblivious to how terrible he would be in Godzilla. The street dance was unquestionably awesome though.

Ferris was an utter cunt.

A good fan theory is that he only existed in Cameron's head.

Sloane is gorgeous, though.

And hey, now the end of Deadpool makes sense!

Well, see, I thought I'd seen it, but then I didn't recognise the clips they showed.

But then I can clearly remember other bits of it.

No, I've seen not-exciting bits too.

Obviously this is an excuse to watch it again.

I suppose I should watch Top Gun one of these days. (And Stand By Me.. and Breakfast Club). One of my friends at school knew the dialogue for the whole film.

Top Gun was a gleaming jingoistic turd when it was made and it's aged like a turd. It's been parodied and referenced to death. Terrible

I'm surprised to hear that because it certainly looks absolutely fucking awful.

Talking of which, the trailer for Colossal, the current Anne Hathaway film, also makes it look fucking terrible but it reviewed pretty well so I gave it a shot. At first the film falls in line with the terrible romcom that the trailer tries to sell you, but about half way through it becomes clear that it couldn't give a fuck for your stupid concept of 'genres' and blithely mixes romcom with sci-fi with thriller. It doesn't stick the landing entirely but the heel turn of one of the characters that underpins the last section is properly chilling, and makes it even more amusing that Legion's Dan Stevens didn't seem to get the memo about what type of film he was actually acting in. It's not hurt by the fact that the two leads turn in very good performances throughout, especially Hathaway who juggles the demands of the different genres incredibly well.
