Started Journey 2 with current character and a new game starting with a Dex build for fisting. (Using starting weapon until I can fist).

Another stupid thing I'll try is no magic/miracles/pyro unless it's on my weapon.

I've left my bloke at the last boss gate in journey 2 pending the DLC since you never know how far into the game you need to be to access the DLC entrance wherever it might.

You can first from the start by removing all weapons.

Good grief! Jumped back in last night and my measly new character is getting twatted by Ludo Gunther.

Fuck comedy builds. I'm getting me some Pyro again.

Saturnalian, are you playing the DLC on Journey 2 or with a fresh play through?

I reckon I'll stick with my NG+ character. The DLC in all past games has been quite a bit harder on NG+ and I reckon I'm up for a challenge. And I still don't know where the entrance to the DLC will be cause I'm avoiding spoilers!

Remember to equip Way of the Blue for the DLC today or whenever you play. Seems the community will be doing this for the DLC! Yay jolly cooperation.

15 minutes of shit duelling with the +10 blacksmiths hammer. It takes a good few matches before I even figure out when the L2 button was even doing but then I finally understand and start to win some matches. I'm even a jerk to someone at 10 mins in. Yay me for being a jerk!

Running up the tower and being a dick after you've felled an opponent is the thing all the cool kids are doing.

I've had a go at all the duels now: 2v2, 4v4, 6v6, free for alls of up to 6 peeps with every man for themselves and so on. The UI is just a shit menu (as per the vid above) and then you wait and are teleported to the only combat arena. It's all unimpressive stuff. There's no leaderboards, no in-game leaderboard as to how many kills each person is getting (you get your own kills and the winnner is announced at the end before you're teleported home. No vote for a rematch or nowt), no special items or reason to do it other than for the lulz.

I played at least an hour of it yesterday and until the last 15 minutes of the video I didn't win a single match. It can be especially frustrating in 1v1 because matches can last mere seconds as some overpowered cunt just stomps up and wreaks you. I didn't have a single match where me and some dude just fought off with bog standard swords and had a jolly old time of it. Nope, they gotta bring a fucking massive club that can one-shot you. Mind you, I was bowing to one guy when he attacked me like a jerk. He could tell I was annoyed with all the shield waving so he walked up with no weapons and let me have a free hit on him. That was good. Most are dicks though.

So PvP arena - the verdict: mostly shit but sometimes brill when I win. Or jump off the tower and slice someone's face off.

The DS community love the PvP aspect. People host fight clubs all the time but they need setting up and there's always a chance that some dick could invade and kill the host ending it. Plus the host doesn't get to fight at all. So here's a way to PvP without the faffing around.

It's as rudimentary as it gets though. They should have done best of 3 for 1v1. I'm sure DS1 did that with the DLC arena so I'm surprised they're left it out.

Seems pretty dumb to not look at the existing player managed fightclubs and find a way to integrate that sort of setup.

The fisting?

I'd have thought it was pretty painful long before that.

A man on the internet wrote it. So far I'm pretty much one punch killing grunts and it's only taking 3 or 4 to fist knights to death.

I can't remember the reason stated that makes the Dark Hand pap with later goblins. Maybe the man on the internet is lying.

I had no end of trouble with the reindeer knights, but then I hadn't played for a few months. I thought it was challenging enough but it felt a little on the short side. Thematically it was very nicely done and it had strong hints of Bloodborne about it in terms of the art style and level layout. There's a super call-back to the Hollow Tree in one hard to reach place which leads to another familiar secret. The new weapons are good too although I've been sticking with my fave weapons from playing the base game (red halbard fire infused, irthiyal sword and the twin princes sword from combining both their weapons).

I thought the final boss fight was super too.

Overal: 7/10 would Dark Souls again. A bit too short and lacking the intricacies of the original painted world.

Sorry, I thought you were suggesting you were over powered for the DLC.

In fact, I thought your internet man was talking about the DLC too but you were still talking about fisting.

Lesson in life: Zardoz is always talking about fisting. We'd be playing burny pee, Z would join, and the first thing he'd talk about would be fisting. Or ramming bacon up a man's behind. With a fist.

Without fail.

Is the bacon tied around the fist like bacon ribs or tiny slices wrapped around each finger like pigs in blankets?

Journey 2 progress:
Big tree dead on first attempt, had one friend.
Got my 'free' level ups off fat blanket.
Found part in undead village that I never saw in first playthrough!
Killed myself accidentally by stepping backwards off a cliff.

Unbuffable dark fist still knocking off bigger chunks than some of my fully upgraded swords.

Smashed up the Dragonslayer, whipped my way through the Archives, kicked in the two princes (one week since you looked at me) and did a couple of side quests.

Next time: endgame.

death sign at 4:51. Preempting the death by 20 seconds.
Then black silence from 5:16 till 5:42
Then a bit later some massive corruption, pauses and the like starting at 8:42 for a while
