In the wooden house at the kid's playground in The Village, community minded youths have written the snapchat IDs of those girls that send nudes. Which is heartwarming.

Yeah, I'm afraid we've already been through the Twitter backlash to everyone doing that. You're so 12 hours ago, man.

Russell has found an app called Radar Go that seems really good and works well. We've put that in his phone, Oojemon Go on mine, and it seems to work.

Also, look at my phone all charged up!

I'm kinda drifting away from this now. Although from a quick lunchtime walk I bagged a Tentacruel and Pokévoled a Metapod into a Butterfree so I'm still hanging in there.

I like it more each day. I'm getting random new Pokemon and evolving different ones in every trip out.

I don't make any particular effort to play the game, but if I'm walking somewhere I'll play it as a value-add to the activity. The vast majority of my play is the daily walk to and from my car (which is only on work days).

I'm 3000 XP off Level 23 (22-23 will have taken three weeks assuming I ding tomorrow), but I have A MEGA LUCKY EGG EVOLVEATHON nearly ready to go, whereby I have enough candies and the relevant Pokemon to do at least 60 evolves in the 30 minute egg window, which will be a 60,000 XP boost so a good chunk of 23-24 in the bag.

There's no real game there TBH, I have some pretty meaty Pokemon now (2000 CP +), but even if I walk past a gym that I could take quite easily I generally don't bother, as there's no real reward for it and it can take a few minutes as well depending on the level.

It's still nice to find a Pokemon you don't have, or evolve one from an egg, but they need to add some new features to the game really.

Surely the rewards from gyms are getting more XP and gold coins to buy lures or lucky eggs or incubators.

It doesn't cross the 'can I be arsed with it?' threshold, though. (Remember I only really play this game on my march up and down the prom every working day, and all the gyms along that route tend to be reasonably well defended, so taking them down, whilst often easy in skill/difficulty terms, still represents an investment of time I can't really be bothered with.)

Lures and incubators I'm not fussed about now anyway, and thusfar I've been using lucky eggs from levelling up, although I do only have one left now.

I'll just drop £3.99 on some Pokecoins if I need to restock on lucky eggs after the next one has been used, on current numbers I'll only be needing to pop one every 3-4 weeks once I've stocked up enough candies to do 60 evolves back-to-back.

If it weren't for the fact I already do a substantial amount of walking as part of my daily work routine, the game wouldn't be getting played at all TBH.

I downloaded this about three weeks ago now. I initially got it because the week before I installed a life log app so we could see how much walking we did when we're out, as we're on a bit of "let's stop being such fatties" kick and I thought playing Pokemon and hatching eggs would encourage us to actually go out and do it.

Currently I'm sat at mid level 21, around level 16 I started becoming really interested in playing it as a game for rewards and xp and stuff so it definitely got more addictive for me the more I played. We'll set an egg hatching goal before we leave the house so generally we'll walk at least 5k a night. I pissed away a fair bit of Stardust in the earlier levels, thinking that at level 5 when I could join a gym, I would do that straight away but then I did a bit of looking into it, checking IV values etc. and levelled no Pokemon up until I got to level 20. Got from level 17 to 20 in one evening due to a lucky eggs and doing a big multi evolve. I also got lucky and hatched a Snorlax the same night, which was itself level 20, he's now maxed out at 1978 but I'll keep bumping him up with me when I level up. He doesn't have the best moveset in the world but I don't fancy my chance of coming across a better one anytime soon. I did get a little impatient with evolving my Vaporeon, who I've renamed Fishcakes, as although he's got good potential (86%) he's currently only at level 16.5. So I sort of wish I'd waited to catch a better one at level 20+ before evolving him. I think my next Eevee will be a Flareon, and then I'll just roll the dice on the rest and hope for a better Vaporeon.

Got my last 9 Magikarp for a Gyarados last night too! He's cool. I'm now only pumping Stardust into Pokemon that have IV values higher than 85% so I'm finding waiting until I caught better ones before levelling up has paid off. Also caught a Dragonair last night, which exhausted my Ultra ball stock. Totally worth it though because he's a level 22.5 and is 86.7% perfect :D He'll make a kick-ass Dragonite, if I ever find enough Dratini.... Had a go at training at friendly gym last night for the first time, I had no idea what I was doing. Or why. Or how to join as opposed to just train. Or how to use a different Pokemon. But I looked online last night and feel a bit more confident for my next attempt.

I'm finding getting the bloody things to stay in the ball more tricky now, even ones with <100cp. I'm not good enough at catching to fire a curve ball and land a great or excellent throw every time so I'm having to be a bit more selective over which ones I catch at times.

It sounds as if you understand the game a fair bit more than most anyone I know, Fkis, especially in regards to values and the like. As you, I'm mid level 21 at the mo, but I've never really levelled any Pokemon up. Do you have a link to any guide you might have read, by any chance? If not I think you should deck items write k e ;)

Bravo!

Curio, it stands for Individual Value and people use it to see which pokemon in their bag are actually the best by calculating how much they can be powered up, their current CP etc. There's online spreadsheets and all sorts:

The newly added appraise functionality is an attempt to provide a vague indication of the IV.

And reading the instructions at the link I provided indicates why even crappy pokemon get appraised as excellent. Niantec apparently round up any pokemon with a score of less than 10 to a minimum of 10, so for crappy pokemon it can still be impossible to know if they're any good until you've evolved them or powered them up a couple of times.

Exactly, when we get an awesome one we can ask flis how to power it up if we want to battle a gym.

I don't know how we'll know it's awesome, though. Maybe use because we've given it a fab name :D

The only thing I've ever noticed is the CP (which I assume us combat power). The highest CP one is vaporeon

I wouldn't worry too much, unless being king of the gyms is your main aim. And in that case... Damn son. Although, wasting Stardust on lame Pysducks would be pretty sole destroying.

I can see 5 gyms from my house, 4 out of 5 have been taken by the same team. Which is normal. But they're all at level 10. One of them says it's at 52000/50000. One of the players has a Snorlax in every gym and they're all over 2400... Hmmm... Every pokemon in the gyms is over 2100. Except the first slot, which generally has a Magikarp.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Magicarp? Is it a really pumped up magicarp (can that even happen?) or is it just some weird tactic?

I caught a Persian in town today. So pretty.

Might be something to do with making it easier to train or something. I'm not really sure how training in the gym works.

Magicarp? Is it a really pumped up magicarp (can that even happen?) or is it just some weird tactic?

I caught a Persian in town today. So pretty.

I assume it's a tactic because it's quite rubbish.

It's just weird that all these random people have showed up today, in all the gyms, and they're all such high levels. These local ones usually sit around 8000 - 12000.
