Hopefully they're not hashed by userid or anything stupid.

Seems possible, but also a faff, I think we'll go for the random games to start with, as that will be much less hassle :D

Depends on the mode. There's a number in brackets in the top right, that's your turn limit.

Let me know if any of the FS usernames are incorrect, case is important!
I'll probably start the league at the weekend, so plenty of time for any stragglers, so roll up, roll up! Come join the fun!

I will join in when I get the game, unless it's too massively time consuming to play.

Anyone want to go halvsies on the cost with me? Myp?

You guys want in on the league? I'm probably going to kick it off tonight, but i'll wait if you want to take part so you can register your FS names first.

I'll be out from around 7-11pm tonight so won't be doing much in the way of sending turns, but should be more responsive for much of the weekend.

However, as it's turn based I don't suppose it matters if some games take a while. Are we going to let each round of the tournament run for a few days to give everyone a chance to get their games completed?

As an aside, not sure why I just won our game Trooper, is there an 8 turn limit or something?

There is a turn limit, its the number in the square on the top right :D I think that is the first time I had a game that hit it though :)

As it's a league, I'll just create a fixture list for each round, if it is taking a while people can play their next fixture and the slowpokes will have to catch up!

Well I got a bit flighty towards the end as I figured a rocket dude and a grenade dude would perform poorly against a machine gunner, and I had been rather unnerved when you took out my last machine gunner when it was 3:1, I was just going to kamikaze in on the next turn though :)

Now I realise there's a turn limit and how to see what it is, I'll go for more aggressive victories I think.

Yes it is. I'm terrible at it, mind you.

Is there an index of BeeX FS names, or can I make it work through steam?

This is probably your best bet for active BEEX players.

Also happy to buy it & take half from anyone else that's interested and doesn't already own it.

Apparently a "Prime" version of this is out on Steam today. Owners of the original game get 50% off.

I don't know what the Prime version is, though. CSB.

Aha:
Quote:
Naturally, the PC version of Frozen Synapse Prime retains all the interface improvements, campaign smoothing, and gameplay additions (like tutorials and killcams) outlined above, but it also adds Arenas -- five brand- new, highly- specific multiplayer scenarios, each with its own unique hook. Chasm, for example, locks each team in a confined space that doesn’t allow units in or out, turning each match into a bizarre but tense whack-a-mole standoff as each commander attempts to pick off his opponent’s soldiers through strategically placed windows.

It's also out on Vita.

I can't get on with FS at all, even though I really want to.

Not interested in multiplayer at all, so it's SP only for me, but I'm not keen on trying to predict the AI's moves. I think it's boring (which is a ridiculous thing to say after 'I want to get on with FS' I know), but even when I'm right in terms of broad strokes (dude X comes round the corner), the AI magically seems to pick a combination of distances and timings that always seems to resolve in its favour. I can have two crouched shotgun guys covering corners in close proximity to an enemy sniper and I can predict where and how he's going to move on his turn, but the sniper ends up killing one of the shotgunners even though if the sides were reversed the sniper would be too close to the shotgunners to do anything.

The only times I've ever won a mission with any conviction is when I start off outnumbering the enemy, or the enemy kills its own VIP with a rocket and wins the mission for me.
