I bought myself a spinning wheel as a gift, from me to me. Site said delivery could be anything up to 10 days, but usually 2-3.

After a week I asked how long it might be and they basically said 'none in stock, in order from suppliers, could be days, might be months.

They've not charged the card, so that's not the problem. Just nowhere else sells them and it's something I've so been looking forward to, and I bought it for a very special celebration for myself but now it just seems to make me feel a little flat and disappointed. :(

I think because every day I've hoped it will be the day it arrives.

To be honest Mimi, I'd be using this as the perfect excuse to buy myself an 'interim gift' to make up for the disappointment of the initial gift being delayed.

I'm considering a new handbag :P

Dear Mimi

Our supplier has just got back to us. Our order including your wheel is being despatched next week, so hopefully we will be able to despatch towards end of next week or beginning of week after.

Regards
Krystyna

There's nothing specific, it just starts to get really porny by about the fourth page of results and as I was scrolling pretty quickly through while scanning for anything that looked like your old avatar that was a bit of a shock at work!

Ha, thanks Bamba. I was looking for the scuba diving one anyway, but I think I know where I can grab a copy of the flowers in the hair one.

I braved the safe search off google images as well and found this

BTW if you search for ["Goddess Jasmine" scuba] with safesearch off in google , its just page after page of porn and then a link to this picture here Image which really looks out of place :-)

And I found the real picture by searching for ["Goddess Jasmine" avatar] and its on the first page

I think Dave was about to heft himself up onto the wall to sit with me and discuss the world's most interesting beer bottle (which I'm holding)

Neighbours have just knocked on to tell me they are having a fire at 8. Closing all my windows is exactly what I want to do in this weather. :-(

Got the cat a nice collar, knew I shouldn't have bothered, it's gone.

Can't wait to move from this shit hole. :-(

The cat or the collar?

As for the fire, some councils have restrictions on people having back garden fires. You should check into it.. also, what Grim.. said. They could have just done it without warning.

(still doesn't make it any less annoying though.. I've never had a fire in my back garden and I can't see me ever doing so.)

The collar, last time he had a nice one it went too. Oh well. I think my annoyance with the neighbours is that they have a fire every week, so when its like this it's not like it's even something they need to do.

I'm not too hot though, I've retreated to the bedroom with the ceiling fan. :p

Dark Souls appeared in the post today and I haven't plated it yet. Also: 306 insurance and MOT due (Bradford postcode rules out anything other than group 5 if replacement needed) and home insurance due. Might just dump the car, and get a road bike to go work with.

I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to listen to all the speakers I want to demo at lunchtime. I might have to narrow it down to 3 pairs.

Given how you feel about font rendering, I'm going to suggest that was possibly the best thing that could have happened.

Pfft. Maybe. I want to be able to test and build for hi-res, though. I can forgive bad rendering, as that will improve over time.

You sending it back then? Once they've sent you what you actually ordered, obv.

I've contact the seller*, and they're investigating what went wrong. It'll be going back, either way. I ordered what I ordered.

* Didn't fancy the waiting time with Apple, so went through Amazon's marketplace. Same price, covered under Amazon's guarantee etc. so I won't lose anything other than time. But it's still an arse.

As long as you use Safari (or Chrome Canary) there are no problems. Same with IE9 on the Windows partition.

Ah, yes, third party he may struggle with for a while. The suite of Apple applications have been updated now though.

It can't be any worse than my upgrading to an iPhone 4 on day one, surely. Bar images on web sites perhaps not looking amazing.
