Its a poor achievement structure when you can 100% on easy. This is why I care little about achievements. Honest.

Well, I didn't have to worry about 380 not being enough in the 2nd Test. I managed to bowl out Australia for 178 in their first innings, just three short of avoiding the follow-on. I enforced it, obv, and then skittled them for a nelson. 75 lovely gamerpoints for winning by an innings and 91 runs, cheers.

Re: Myps challenge.

First test, lost toss, bowling first.
First ball, no-ball. The increase in speed is really noticeable and it's pretty hard to get the delivery in the perfect zone. 7 runs off first 2 overs.

5 overs 33 runs on the board.... Not going well.... anything that isnt perfect is punished.

15.5 overs in, aus are 60-0. first catch chance of the game.
Fuck that goes fast.

2nd chance however, does not go down. 18 overs in and it's 63/1... now just punters to get out before he gets in.

Edit: Now 137/3, however, pointing just smashed swann's over for 26, after he managed to get a wicket. More confused than anything, most of the balls were good! :'(

OH FFS!

Ponting can fuck right off.
65 off 34 balls, fuck off.

Lunch, I was doing quite well, with them having a steady rate of around 4 an over, but since ponting decided to be a twat and smash me around it's now 178/3. not happy, need to get ponting out. This is rather hard on hard. Argh!

RT + LT summons a virtual Myp to tell him he shouldn't be batting like that.

Even on Normal Ponting seems to be uberly aggressive at the beginning of his innings in this game. He'll regularly hit 20 from 8 balls before settling down and scoring about 10 from the next 10 overs. Weird.

Agreed. Whenever I play, he either gets out for 3 in the first two overs, or gets a half century in 10 overs.

He's currently 40ish not out in 2nd innings of the Edgbaston test - Computer appears to be targetting Anderson who isn't bowling too badly but took six in the first innings. This is annoying as I was in a great position when I resumed my first innings last night on 180/3 but lost concentration due to wittering wife and only posted 270 :(

Decided to do a full-length T20 tournament for the achievement on Normal. In both the quarter-final (Australia) and semi-final (Sri Lanka) I scored near 250, before restricting my opponent to around 120.

Odd that you guys found Ponting batted like that.

I've only bowled twice, but the first time I got him out for a golden duck, and the second time around, looking for the Pair or King Pair cheevo, the sneaky beggar lasted 23 balls before getting off the mark, before finally getting out for something like 10 off 60 balls.

On the other hand, Hughes is absolutely fucking woeful. Especially about 2 foot outside his offstump with an outswinger.

I had to uninstall the game from HDD last night and run it from the disk as the sound effect for a clean aggressive shot had disappeared which made it unplayable. This gave the unanticipated additional realism at Edgbaston, as the sound of the 360 running off disk in the background constantly was very similar to the sound of the knackered old buses that run the Number 1 Inner circle route down the Edgbaston Road.

One thing that slightly annoys me, but only slightly, is that for the tail enders I try to bowl a line more towards the stumps, looking for an lbw or a clean bowled. They never, ever fall for it and always seem to just chip the wide ones to cover.

The only ones I've really bowled with seamers are the tail enders. Swann seems my best bet at straight bowling the top order, but he's bowled 2 overs in my hard game, 2 wickets, 37 runs ?:| so I've tried not to use him
Fatigue is a major factor aswell, within 4 or 5 overs the bowler is into the orange, so probably getting swann to be consistant and not give away runs would give the seamers more time to recharge.

Yeah, I've been trying to bounce and york the tailenders, but it doesn't work. Probably because in BLIC07 you could pretty much rip through the last five wickets by just bowling full and straight.

To get easy wickets, but at the expense of runs, bowl it in the greener areas of the reticle at varying paces.
It costs runs, but they miss-time shots and you get a fair few catch oppertunities

For tailenders I use Attack field three and bowl short and wide down off, with varying swing and cut. They just can't help themselves.

I've not taken a wicket with a spinner yet (other than against my brother).

I've only bowled three overs with them, but despite bowling very good balls for each delivery, the three overs have gone for about 20 runs each.

Stop spinning it so much. I found that they were harder to get away when I used the triggers to reduce the amount of spin on the ball.

swanny is good for wickets for me I've found, I just pitch the heavy spin one just outside off stump and a little bit shorter, so it's got room for them to come forwards and miss it.

Gah, I'm disappointed it was that easy. They should be piling up at least 400 runs to make a decent game of it. What are the conditions?

17 overs in.

109/3.

The wickets were basically me being a twat and attacking shots I should have defended and the ball zips past and knocks over middle stump.
Vaughan is well set on 46 off 44 and colly is 18 off 10 :D

If you'd defended more at the beginning and got your batsmen in, you wouldn't have lost any wickets. ;)

Im not doing too badly tho.

strauss was out on 22 off 27 balls, cook went too easily, and KP was out for 17 or so.

Boundaries are a lot harder to come by on hard. And the bowling is super fast, just make sure I punish anything that's short.

I've just celebrated England's amazing bowling performance today by bowling out the Aussies for 57 within 16 overs on the first morning of the Edgbaston Test.

So now today has happened the rules have changed?

I hope Strauss creams the first over of the second innings for 28 runs.

30 overs in on myp's hard challenge.

Im 209/5. Vaughan was stupidly run out for 75 off 74 balls.

Right now Prior is on 44 off 34 and flintoff 16 off 8.

Erm.... myp's not going to be happy :P

First innings. All out 414 from 49.4 overs at the start of day two.
Lead of 188 runs, not too bad!

Flintoff top scoring with 120* (65) with decent innings from Prior 97 (71) and Vaughan 75 (74)

This match should be won.

I'm 78/0 after 23 overs in reply to Australia's pathetic 57 all out. Strauss is on 44* from 76 and Cook is 24* from 72.

Ah, fair enough.

My aggressive play style seems to be working on hard... up to a point, a few wafts when the bowlers get on top and wickets can fall, but hit them for a few boundries and then you can basically hit them where you want as the confidence changes a lot more rapidly.

Very pleased to have picked up my first century earlier (Flintoff, in the third Ashes Test, and I'm already 2-0 up in the series so looking forward to gaining that Ashes Winner Achievement over the weekend).

I'm getting loads more accurate with my bowling now, and am confident of doing fairly well when I go back up a skill level.

Personally I'm disgusted by the poor level of officiating in the Ashes 09. I've started a Test Series between Pakistan (me) and South Africa, there have been four LBWs, with two not touching the stumps according to Hawkeye and one which I hit the ball....bloody virtual umpires, effing rubbish.

One thing I have noticed with the fielding is it's very slow sometimes. They faff around for ages while the other team go for a quick single no matter how many times you mash the controller

Dear Myp.

First test on hard won. Easily

Australia 226 and 228. England 414 and 41/0

As I said, it seems getting ontop of the bowlers by playing shots makes it easier as they tend to lose it a bit with their bowling.
