IAN NEWS!

"Capturing the beast" still cracks me up.

Mr Herring dealing with a heckler.

Excellente. "I know a bloke who's stabbed every day!" Amazing.
The classic black & white western HIGH NOON with added sci-fi special effects (and over-dubbed voices and sound fx).

Amusing and very well done :

That's completely amazing. Though I did think it was Stuart Lee's voice being a cheeky monkey at first - it did sound a bit like an Ian.

Edit: And the High Noon one was tops as well, Berty. Reminded me of Firefly meets Twilight Zone!
Yu-Gi-Oh! the Abridged Series goes on the pile of Really Cool things I'm glad I looked at before I die. (Together with Rom Check Fail)

There is a longer version on youtube too. With extra added jokes.
Ooh, new Eric Schwartz animation, anyone?

Commodore will never die!

Oh, wait...
This made me chuckle lots...

And the Doctor gets in on the act:

and there's more. This time a proper officially licensed Who advert starring Tom Baker:

The Prisoner, episode 16:

The art of the argument hasn't changed much over the years.
A couple of interesting demos:

One running on an oscilloscope:

And the Pimp My Spectrum demo, which comprises a stripped-down Z80 emulator with souped-up Spectrum bits attached (6-channel sound, faster processor etc.) and the code for the demo in one 64K production:

:glee:

Oh, tossrStu! Thank you even just for putting me in mind of an over-clocked, pimped-out Speccy. Had I a brutal totalitarian regime, I would force the creation of elaborate ways to gild the Speccy lily. Adding full 3D shadowing and shading to Tempest, using sophisticated pixel-doubling and anti-aliasing code gubbins. But never touching the original code! For that is precious and sacrosanct.

I would allow Alan Sugar to rule the Isle of Wight. Sir Clive can have Scotland. <fake anger>Imagine the look on :attitude: when he realises the Scottish economy is in the hands of Sinclair. HAHAHAHAH!</fake anger> Seriously though, that'd be awesome, if only as a practical joke. We should totally do that.

Where am I?
I've launched Skeptobot's youtube channel with this little doozy. I've dissolved my oyster card!

I now have a loop of wire that lets me travel around the tube! I'm either putting it in my watch, or (if it will work) a magic wand.

I've written an article about it that will go on my blog at about half twelve (giving youtube time to sort the video out).
This has cheered me up this afternoon:
That video is fucking AWESOME.

Interesting Granada documentary on the Wigan Casino Northern Soul scene that someone at the library told me about. Eee, it were grim and funky up North! (*Gets all nostalgic for me old mill town Huddersfield*)

That's really horrible. :'(

Ooh. Northern Soul. My friend is playing some live this evening through the magic of the virtual internets.

Went to look at the Portillo loses video, found this instead. Basically, Portillo's trying to find a humane way of killing and so goes into a decompression chamber to test it out on himself. Very freaky.

Something I wish I hadn't seen.
I liked it.

Excellent build up with a snappy ending.

Great stuff, especially if you're familiar with the film.
Always makes me smile, this. Madeline's voice makes me melt a little here, "Will you can you raise your voice!?"

"Louder!"

*Sigh*

"Dress them up in clogs and clotheses."
Properly, properly insane RC Helicopter flying.
I'm looking for signs that it's been faked, but I can't see any. The man's a genius.

Definitely not faked, I've seen helicopters flown right in front of me to that sort of standard. I can fly helicopters pretty well but I can't get my head around how anyone can do that sort of thing.

Planes, but this is some pretty good flying:

Couple of childishly amusing examples of adding bleeps to clean TV show clips to make them seem a bit rude...

Right. This is the trailer for a new show starting in September, in America. Looks okay, nothing particularly new. However, watch until the end, for a rather unexpected Alan Partridge tribute of sorts. Yes. Watch right until the very end (and don't click through to watch it at Youtube, just let it play out below).

Some skateboard riding clips for your perusal. Favourite sections from Lakai - Fully Flared (directed by Spike Jonze).

That's going to be the comment that tips me over the edge into Supervillainy. Shrapnel man, I shall be, and woe betide anyone who isn't standing really close to me.
