It took me about 6-8 weeks Malc, but once the fatigue lifted it took no time at all to get back up to speed. My heart rate doesn't sit quite as low on my runs any more, but I hope that will come back long term.

It's really noticeably burning through work (including families-of) at the moment. This despite most people still working from home most of the week. I assume the variant that has been in the news.

I tested positive just before going to get COVID and flu jabs the other week (and had a much shittier time of it than last time around), but was plague free for the rebooking this evening. Apparently it's now a modified vaccine focusing on the current variant and less likely to work against the outgoing ones.

Fun times we're still having.

I'm enjoying the reports from the Covid enquiry about the Government's performance. Today's highlight is Boris' Trumpian moment when he 'asked scientists if hair dryer could kill Covid'.

And yesterday's revelations about Whatsapp messages from inside Downing St show just how clueless he was.

Pretty sure that was a homeopathic COVID remedy that was doing the rounds.

Probably a rumour started by BaByliss to boost sales.

Helen is the poorliest I've seen her in a long time, and a test is saying it's VERY COVID for what she still believes to be the first time.

Kind of makes sense as I've been having on-off moments of similar but very mild symptoms today that haven't stuck, and I've had 5-ish vaccinations and natural test-positive infection twice (maybe three? Probably two) so should have better immune response.

Coincidentally a new more-transmissible-than-ever variant (XEC according to the BBC) may be about to take over from the recent pair of more-transmissible-then-ever variants.

Unfortunately I went to the office, gym AND supermarket today and the builder and plumber were at the house to finish the kitchen off (facepalm dimlie).

Yep XEC is here in the UK and vulnerable folk are to be offered vaccinations.

Symptoms are thought to be the same cold or flu-like ones as before:
- a high temperature
- aches
- tiredness
- a cough or sore throat
